Short excerpt from a YouTube video by T. Harv Eker titled "Does Your Business Solve A Big Enough Problem?" The speakers discuss why selling is hard when a product doesn't solve a significant problem for customers (example: 'trinkets' that are cute but not essential), and emphasize helping people and pursuing something one is passionate about as a better business approach.
If you're solving a problem for people, why would quote unquote selling to them be hard? Why? Certain reasons. Okay. Number one, you're not really solving a big enough problem for them. I mean, if I don't really give a shit about the problem you're solving, I'm going to be a hard sell. Got it? So that's your first checklist.
We're selling these trinkets and it's really hard to sell them, you know. And you know, these little trinkets are really cute and.
It'S like, eh, what problem do I have? Well, it's not the trinket problem a lot of people are selling, you know, and I don't say as in a bad thing, but it doesn't really solve anything. What's the big deal? Listen, try to come up with something you're passionate about. I'll tell you in a second here that really helps people. Get. It helps people help. Yeah, but that's not what I do. Then do something else. Help people. It's a great way to go about it. The more you can help them, the more money you make too. Okay, good.
