How Businesses Are Stepping Up Today: Crisis Survival Kit

Jesse Eckert walks through a three-pillar framework for surviving business crises: Retention (keeping students, staff, and partners), Revenue (adjusting offers and preselling), and Restructure (messaging, products, finances). Cut waste, invest only where you see clear returns, and plan your moves before the crisis hits.

Hey, it's Jesse Eckert. I want to welcome you to issue number three in the Millionaire mindset in times of crisis. Now, today's video is super important. It's actually more of a training. I'm going to bring up the iPad in a second to show you exactly our business survival kit how to navigate through a crisis. Like, I'm going to give you the exact steps that we're been using to help you guys out, to make sure that you guys are on the right track to making sure that you're not just you're surviving and you're thriving, you're going to thrive once this is over. First of all, I want to just call out a few things first. Please, no judgment. I'm not the best speller, so if I do spell something incorrectly, since I am writing I have no spell check, please give me a break. Okay. The second is I do have some notes here on the side that I am going to be using. If I am looking at it again, I'm just trying to give you the best possible information, some amazing training that's really going to help serve you in your business and hopefully make sure that you are trending up versus struggling and have a financial strength. All right, so I'm going to go ahead and share my iPad right now and then we will go from there. Cool. All right, so going down the screen. Alrighty. So we have this. First of all, I want to talk about the mindset. I want to talk about the mindset really fast of like the three different paths that people are going to be going on through this crisis. So you have the actual. Prices start date here. Okay. Then you have the end date here. Like, we don't know when that is. We don't know what the deal is with that. But this is what's going to be happening. So this is the end date. Right. So there's three paths that people are going to be taking. Make sure that I'm not pinned anymore. Okay, cool. So these are the three paths that I hopefully everyone could see. Oh, there we go. Okay, here we go. So here are the three paths that people are taking. Path number one, right, is this path. Path number two is going to be up and down. And then more down though. And then path number three is going to be pretty stag, but then goes up. Alright, so here's the three big differences between these paths. The first path is no action. These people are waiting and seeing. They're saying, oh, well, I can't really do anything. I'm locked down right now. My business is not really working. I can't do much. So I'm just going to do nothing. Right. I'm going to take no action. These people are going to struggle with when this crisis is over, they may or may not have a business. Right? So waiting and seeing is not a great option. The second is kind of like the status quo, which is like doing the same. Just like, just keep everything the same as best as you can. Doing the same. Now, the reason why this goes down still is because the market's going down. Everything's trending down at the moment. So if you keep doing the same thing, you're not going to get the same results. Unfortunately, things have changed. So you can't do the same thing and expect the same results. If you're going to do the same thing, expect different results, which are most likely going to be less. Unless you're in an industry that's popping right now that's going crazy. Right? And then the third one here is people who are taking the right and smart actions. These people are, you know, doubling down on their investments. They're getting coaching, they're with a community, they're building their tribe, they're proactively planning, they're looking at situations to make sure that they make good decisions. Okay? And this is what I'm going to take you in right now is I want to take you through the process that I have for taking the right and smart actions. So let's move on. There's three levels that I really need you to get your mind straight on. Okay? It's really important that we understand this. The first one is dismissive. This is when you dismiss the situation, dismissing, hey, you know, it's not happening. You know, the crisis isn't a big deal. You know, it's gonna blow over quickly. It's just. It's whatever, right? You're just dismissing it. The second one is reactive. Crap, it's here. What do I do? I need to do this. I need to do this. I need to do this. I start reacting to all these situations. Reactive. The third level, Proactive, right? So here's a challenge. Most people right now are hanging out in this area. And what's wrong with that is this is making decisions off emotions which emotionally not very happy, right? You're not happy, so you're making decisions usually based off of. It's an F word, fear. Never great to make a decision off fear. It's never great to make a decision off an emotion anyways. Think about when you've been charged up, maybe with a fight with a spouse or an argument with a spouse and you're emotionally charged and you say something you didn't mean, you're making an emotional decision right there, right? But when you think about it for a bit, let's say you're having a relationship again and you are in an argument, something takes you off you and you think about it for a second and you let the emotions go. And then when you're not charged up, you go and you say, hey, when you did this, it made me feel like that, or this is making me feel a certain way. You're not making an emotional decision anymore. You've now proactively looked at your emotions, let yourself cool down a bit and made a decision on how you want to respond instead of reacting. This is more a response. This is a response, not a reaction response. And this is where the good decisions are made. And this is where you're level headed, right? So I wouldn't say that you're happy about it, but you're at least level headed. That's my level head guy. All right, so this is where you want to live. You want to live in the proactive place. You want to live in the proactive planning place where we're proactively looking at every situation, every decision we're making. We're proactively saying, this is the best case, this is the middle case, this is the worst case. If our revenue gets to this, we're doing that. If our expenses get to this, we're doing that. If our profit gets to this, we're doing that. Right? We're proactively looking at all different scenarios to help us navigate through this unknownness. It's uncertainty. The only way that we can plan for uncertainty is proactively plan for it because we don't know what's going to happen. So here's the model that's really important for you to work on after today. So there's three really important sections that we've been working on. And if you can continue to ask yourself in these sections, how do I do this? How do I do this? How do I do this? You're going to be so much farther along the competition and so much more ahead of the people. And you're just going to reap the rewards because people aren't doing this right? Most people are not doing this. So we have, on one side we have retention, next side we have revenue. And re structure. I don't know if I spelled that right. R e, s, t, r u. I think this is a c. Restructure. Restructure. I think I did it. Cool. So these are the three levels. So in retention, when we think of retention, we're thinking about retaining everything that we've done, everything we've built up to this point, everything we've done for our business. We want to make sure we don't lose it. All this work, we don't want to make sure we lose it. So we need to focus on three areas that I think that we've been focusing on. You can use your three areas that are most important for you, right? These are our three areas. Our three areas are our students, which could be your clients, customers, whatever it is, it's going to be our team making sure we keep our team intact. Because it's really important that we built this team. We want to keep them intact. And the third one is our ecosystem. We have all these people that are really into what we talk about. We have a great tribe, great community. We want to make sure we keep our ecosystem. So we're asking these questions. What do we need to do to make sure our students stay with us? They don't refund. They don't cancel. They don't. They get more from us for the same price. How do we serve them extra? How do we go above and beyond so that they know that they need us right now, that this is the time not to let go of us? It's to move forward with us. Right? That's the first thing. The team. How do we retain the team? Well, if we're not using everyone to their full capacity, what can we put them to do to help us get through the situation? How do we retain the team to make sure that we protect them? The ecosystem is. What do we need to do to get in front of our students on a consistent basis to serve them even more so that we're the voice they want to follow and they don't go follow someone else. We've built this tribe. We've built this community. We want to keep them in our ecosystem. So what do we need to do right now? Hey, look at what we're doing right now. Millionaire mindset. In times of crisis, one of the reasons we're doing this right now is not only to serve you guys, to give you the best information but possible. What was to keep you guys in our ecosystem? It's to make sure that you stay with us so that you know that we're leading you through this situation and you're going to want to stick with us throughout it. And when it's done okay, revenue. When it comes to revenue, we need to think about. The first thing we want to think about is what we can offer, right? Do we have something specifically we can offer that's more relative to the situation? That's a must have. Do we have something that we can give as an offer to bring in some extra revenue right now? Is there something that we can discount? Now I'm not saying you need to discount, but is there something that we can discount to makes it so it's a no brainer for people. Also think about other people's offer who's doing well right now because lots of you guys maybe are locked down. Maybe you're a healer or a therapist, a person that actually goes to do a service. Well, you can't be doing your service right now. So what offers are, are people doing? Like what offer can you take from someone else that you can give to your existing clients or people that you can make some extra revenue from? Right? So that's the offer. The second thing that you want to look at for revenue is pre sell. How can you pre sell something first when it's over? Right? So can you pre sell some packages? Can you look at how do I pre sell this and in advance so that I can bring in some revenue now so I can survive and I have to deliver later? Okay. And then the third thing here is going to be assets. Assets. Assets are super important because we want to look at the assets and basically say, what skills do I have? What expertise do I have that I can monetize for other people? What can I do that I can actually say to them, hey, I can do this for you or my team could do this for you, or we can help you in this situation, or I can help you in this situation. What new assets can you have? Skills, your expertise, your team, your systems, whatever it is that you can use to monetize. All right? So that's how you should be thinking about your revenue and then restructure. Listen, we don't want to do this, but we kind of have to do it. We're kind of forced to do it. So we have to look at restructuring. Well, we definitely want to restructure our message. How do we maybe become more relevant? People are not thinking about anything other than coronavirus. The situation, the crisis, staying safe, making sure they're doing things that are going to keep their business afloat, their financial is afloat. They're thinking about security, they're thinking about protection, they're thinking about the foundations of their life. They're not Thinking about aspirations. They're thinking about, how do I survive? Take the lifeline right now and get through this so that I can survive it in the future. You need to change your message, right? You need to become a must have, not a nice to have. The second thing that you're going to need to restructure is possibly your products. What products do you need to restructure to be more relevant? Again, for must haves, not nice to have. And the third thing that's really important here is you're going to probably want to restructure your financials. Okay? You're going to look at your financials. You're going to say, again, what is the most important thing that I need to do that's going to give me a return on my money? Anything that's not going to be a return on my money right now that's nice to have could be gone. So returns on your money can be anything from investments. So this could be, again, coaching. It can be information that's going to help your business, like this type of information, but even deeper. It can be so coaching information. It could be financial investments. Anything that you feel like is an investment right now for you to do that's going to be a return in the future. 30, 60, 90 days from now. I want you to keep that. I actually want you to double down on that because that's what wealthy people are doing. Okay? I want you to think about that. Things that you should be cutting, though, are nice to have expenses. Things that are not adding value right now. Things that are not adding value right now to your business that are like. Things that you don't even use any tools that you're not using right now. Get rid of them, Save some money, right? So that's where I want you to be thinking. Cut expenses, double down on investments. So what you want to do is you want to look at this and you say, okay, answer questions in the retention realm. What are the three things I want to make sure that I'm focused on in retention? And list them out, start to write them. 1, 2, 3. Right? On my students or my clients, These are the three strategies I'm going to use. Blah, blah, blah. Team. These are the three strategies. Ecosystem. This is the three strategies. Pick your favorite one, right? Then you circle your favorite one. Offer presale assets. You have nine things that you can work on here. You have nine things you can work on here. Nine things that are probably going to be different than what most people are doing right now. Things that you can actually work on to succeed. To make sure that you are making the right and smart decisions. Again, think about this. So I also want to make sure that you that you are again thinking about this in your own sense, in your own way, want to make sure that it's useful for you. So think about the retention, restructure, revenue. How can you make this possible for you in your business? Right? What are the things you need to do to monetize? What are the assets that you have in place? Do you have a list? Do you have customers? Do you have partners? Like, what are the different assets that you can monetize right now? Think about all these things, like dig deep, take some time. So today I want you to comment below, I want you to comment below, your biggest takeaway from today in our business survival kit. And I want you to also put what's one action, one action that, one action that you can take from today and and comment below as well. So your biggest takeaway and one action that you're going to take from today. And I want to see your business survival kits. I want to see your businesses survive and thrive like these people. I want you to be these people. I don't want you to be these people. Right? This is how you're going to do that. This is how you're going to do that. Thanks so much. Have an amazing rest of your day.
