How to Create Momentum & Stay Productive - Millionaire Mindset in Times of Crisis

Jesse Ecker presents a simple 2×2 momentum framework (Focus: Focused vs Scattered; Confidence: Confident vs Doubtful) that maps four states—Momentum (focused + confident), Procrastination (scattered + doubtful), Spread Thin (scattered + confident), and Playing Small (focused + doubtful). For each non-momentum quadrant he gives tactical strategies to move into momentum: clarify goals and break them into small actions to build wins and confidence (from Procrastination); eliminate unnecessary tasks, set progress markers/milestones, and create rewards (from Spread Thin); review progress, create small wins, and introduce negative consequences to boost action (from Playing Small). The video closes with a pitch for his Limitless Life coaching program and a CTA to apply for a strategy call.

Hey, it's Jesse Ecker. Thanks so much for watching this video. And today's video is super important. It's all about momentum. Why is momentum important? Well, when we're a momentum, we get to achieve the results we want. When we're in momentum, we feel focused and we have energy and we're making progress towards where we want to go. But when we take get taken out of momentum, what tends to happen is we get sidetracked, we lose focus, we procrastinate, we play small. So having momentum, if you have goals, you have dreams, you have desires of what you want to achieve is super important to continue to have. And momentum is easy to actually create once you know how to do it. So I actually created this framework that's been super helpful for me, and I wanted to share it with you because I believe it can instantly take you from where you are maybe feeling procrastinating, maybe you're spread yourself too thin, or maybe you are playing small directly into momentum with a few simple tactical strategies that I want to share with you right now. So I'm going to pull up my iPad and share this framework. It's super easy to understand and very effective once you become aware of the. Aware of what's happening, like what's going on. So once you're aware of how you're feeling at that specific moment or how you're acting, it's easy to change it because now you're aware of what's happening and you can change it consciously to the momentum framework that I'm going to give you right now. So hold on, I'm going to change my iPad and let's get this going. All righty. So. So let me get rid of this. All right, so there's this framework that I have been using, and it's been really awesome. So I'm going to share my. Okay, cool. So when we look at it, it's a box like this. And on this side, right here, this axis right here, this axis, we have focus or focused. And then the opposite of what focuses is scattered. And then when I have one more axis here, obviously I want to make this nicer, but I'm not going to be able to. We have. Up here we have. On this axis, we have confidence, and below we have doubt. So when we look at this framework as a square and we put these things together, there's certain ways of being that start to happen when we put these together. So when we are feeling scattered and we're feeling doubtful in what we're doing, what tends to happen is we. We procrastinate. We procrastinate. And I'm not 100% sure if I spelled that right, but that doesn't matter. We procrastinate. So when we're scattered and we're doubtful, we're in a procrastination mode. Now let's go to the next one. When we are confident, but we're scattered, so we have some confidence, but we're scattered up here, then we are what I like to call spread thin. So we're confident in where we want to go, but we are scattered with so many different things happening at the same time that we're spread thin. We're spread thin. And then the other one down here, another yellow, is when we're focused. Like, we have a lot of focus. We're focused on what we want, but we're doubtful in what we're doing. Then what we do is we're playing. We're playing small. But finally, when we are confident, we have confidence and we are focused, we have momentum. So right there, we can see that our goal is to be confident and focused. Our goal is to be very confident in what we're doing and focus in what we're doing so that we can make progress towards getting our goals. Simple, right? It's very straightforward. But the question is, what if you are scattered and doubtful? What if you are scattered and confident? What if you are focused and doubtful? Like, what if you're in one of these areas? How do you get to momentum when you are in one of these three areas? Well, there are certain strategies to do this, and I'm going to share a few tactical things that you can do instantly to help you move into momentum quickly. So the first one is procrastination. This is a big one for so many of us. We just procrastinate because, again, we're feeling doubtful in what we're doing. We're scattered. There's so many different things that we can do, so we tend to freeze. So one of the first things that you can do to start to gain some focus. So our goal is, again, to move from procrastination into momentum, which means that we are confident and focused. So one of the first things we want to do when we're procrastinating is, is we need to ask ourselves, what is the goal? What is the objective in what we're doing? What's our goal? What's our objective? Right. And we need to figure that out. If we don't know what we want, we're not going to get what we want, right? So we need to understand the objective and goal so that we can get more focus, laser focus on the outcome that we want to achieve. Then the second thing is if we want to get more confidence, well, many of the times our objective and goal are so big that what ends up happening is we feel like there's just so much for us to actually do. So what's really important here is then we need to create. We need to create smaller actions, which means we can set ourselves up to win. So the way that we want to win, the way when it comes to, when it comes to creating confidence, the fastest and easiest ways to create confidence is win, win more often. And the way you win is you do what you say you're going to do. You trust yourself, you actually finish what you start. How many times have you started something and not finished it and felt like crap or said you're going to do something, but then don't do it? Well, the fastest way that we can get confidence is by winning. And that's by like literally just doing what we say we're going to do. That builds inner confidence. And so when we create smaller manageable actions, what that does is it then creates us confidence to start doing more and doing more and getting a momentum. And that's how we get into momentum. Simple, right? All right, let's look at spread thin. So if you're spread thin, there's a couple things that you can do. The first thing that I would do when I'm spread thin is I look to. One, eliminate the unnecessary. So eliminate unnecessary. And the reason I say that is because a lot of us are basically doing things because we feel like we should be doing them, that they've worked in the past, so we're continuing to do them. But when we actually look back at what we're doing throughout our days, what we're doing, and we're spread thin, we can probably see that there's only 20% of the activities that are giving us 80% of the results. So. So if we're spread thin, we need to start to analyze and become more aware of exactly what we're doing throughout our day so that we can eliminate the unnecessary stuff that's causing us more work, more time, more frustration, and not getting us actually closer towards our goals. So our goal here is to eliminate the unnecessary. So we're, we're working on the things that are absolutely necessary to move us towards our goals. That's one thing. The second thing we want to do is, number two is we need to come up with markers for our goal. Basically, think about this like a hike, right? So you have a hike and you have a destination of where you want to go. Along that hike, you're going to have markers that are going to say that you're on track. These are like milestones. Many of us create this goal of, hey, I want to do X, but then don't create markers to tell us that we're on track. So what happens is we get sidetracked. We take on other things. We don't necessarily know what's working and what's not right. We don't know if we're on the right track. We need to know if we're on track. And the easiest way to get out of spreading being spread thin and into momentum is understanding our markers so that we can focus on again, the goal here is to go from scattered to focus. Let me share this with you. The goal again is to go from scattered to focused, right? So we want to go from scattered to focus, which means we need to focus, which means that if we know our markers, that's going to get us focused to getting to that next marker. All right? And then the third thing here I think is really important is we need to create desire. So a lot of times, people who are spread thinner are usually overachievers. They are people who want to basically get as much done and as little time as possible or just over commit. I'm one of those people. I love to over commit because I can do it all right? I can do it all, but we can't. So one of the things that's important is that we create desire with what we're doing, which means that we need to have some sort of reward for doing what we say we're going to do. We need to actually celebrate our success. And that means that when we're focused on one thing and we actually achieve that goal, like do the actions that we say we're going to do, not the outcome, because outcomes are uncontrollable. We can't control our outcomes, but we can control the actions we take. So when we do what we say we're going to do and do those actions and stay focused. Remember, we're confident, but we're not focused. We've got to focus ourselves. Once we do that, we give ourselves a reward, and that's a great way for us to at least acknowledge that we have something that we're working towards, that we're going to actually reward ourselves, and that helps us stay focused. All right, now let's go to the third one. The third one is playing small. I know this is a big one for a lot of people. So one of the fastest ways because here we are focused, but we want to move into momentum, which means we need to go up the confidence factor. We need to gain more confidence. Well, the fastest way for us to gain more confidence is to look at progress. So why is this so important? Well, when we look at progress, we're looking back, we're looking at what we've done. I think what ends up happening for so many of us is we make this amazing progress, but we don't acknowledge the progress we actually did. I'm going to share a story with one of my high end clients, Marcus, and he is an amazing person. In 21 days, basically he created a group coaching program. He created emails and messaging and went out to old clients and new prospects. He talked to them and he ended up selling a group coaching student for in 21 days worth $3,000 to him. And that was amazing to do in 21 days to do all of that stuff. But you know, he celebrated with the, which was great. But his mind went right away to, well, I need like 5 more to get my group coaching. So my mind went straight. His mind went straight to future base of like, I need to do more. Right? I need to do more. Which made him feel like he wasn't doing enough, which made him feel like he wasn't as confident as he could be. Versus when we talked, we talked about, well, look at the progress that you've done, man. Like in 21 days. You did all of this in 21 days. Let's look at that progress. And he was like, wow, I feel, feel so good about what I've actually done and accomplished. This is amazing. The progress that I've actually made over this week or the last three 21 days. And that made him feel more confident and that made him like way more excited about filling his group because he already had someone, he felt more confident about it. So looking at your progress is one of the fastest ways you're going to build confidence. The second thing that we want to do again is going back to winning more often, Which is basically again, just doing smaller actions. So when you're playing small, it's because you have this big goal and you're like, the confidence level is like, well, I'm not there yet. I'm not at that level yet. How can I compete? The best people are doing this. How am I even supposed to be in the same realm as Them. Well, when it really comes down to it, confidence really, again, comes from winning. And when you win, you start to gain momentum, you start to build confidence. And so what we always say is just make your winning easy, set yourself up to win. And that's what we do, is create small actions. So small actions win the game. As Harv says, he likes to think big, but his actions are small. So he thinks big, but his actions are small towards getting that big goal. All right? And then the third thing here is. Instill pain. Instill, instill pain. Pain. So lot of the times that we. We just need a little kick in the butt sometimes, you know, discomfort and pain makes us move more than pleasure. Okay? So when we put a negative consequence behind our motivation, we tend to take action quicker. And when I say negative consequence, I'm saying, like, put a consequence of if you don't do these actions that you say you're going to do. And listen carefully. I didn't say if you don't achieve the goal. I said if you don't do the actions you say you can do, because that's all you can control is your actions. If you don't do the actions you say you're going to do, this is the negative consequence you're going to have. So one of my negative consequences one time. And again, you have to pick something you really don't want to do. Right? Something you would never want to do. One of my negative consequences was to go on Facebook Live if I didn't do my actions and shave my head. I was going to shave my head. I love my hair. There is no way that I am shaving my head. So you better, you better damn believe that I'm going to be doing my actions. And that's the motivation sometimes you need when you're playing small to get into momentum. All right, so let me just recap that really fast. Our goal is to get into this box here. Obviously, we want to get into momentum, which means that we have to get more confident and more focused on what we're doing. If we're not confident and we're not focused, then we tend to be either spread thin or we're playing small. And if we're feeling even more doubtful and scattered, we procrastinate. So once you understand this framework, then it really becomes easy to get a momentum because then you can easily look at, oh, here's where I'm at right now. I am in the procrastination phase. I'm in the scattered phase, or the spread thin phase. I'M in the playing small phase. What are some of the tactical strategies that Jesse talked about or that I can come up with myself that are going to get me into the confident and focused phase? And again, that gets you into momentum, into movement, and that's how you're going to achieve your goals and that's how you're going to get the results you want and that's how you're going to live the life that you truly want to live. All right, so this framework comes from my coaching program, the Limitless Life. This is a high end coaching program with really motivated students who really want to make a difference in their business, who are super motivated to create the time and money freedom that actually they've wanted. Getting into business. See, many of us start business because of the freedom aspect. More money on the freedom side, more time, like controlling our time and more meaning, obviously, hopefully as fulfilling a purpose and solving a problem. But what ends up happening is so many of us get into business and because we're the only ones in the business, we don't necessarily realize all the aspects of running a successful business, which makes it more stressful. Less money, you know, less freedom and less doing the things that we really wanted to do when we started a business. So the coaching program is all about getting that system created, creating that machine, creating that system for your business to grow your business without having to sacrifice more time, without having to sacrifice the things that you love. That's what the coaching program is all about. And for the for a little bit limited time, we are doing some strategy calls to help our students navigate what their number one biggest struggle is, what's working in their business, what's not. And then on the strategy call we're actually going to give you three part action plan for you to be able to take to help your business out. So if you're interested in applying for that, all you need to do the application is free right now. All you need to do is click the button below this video. We work on frameworks similar to this as far as habits go, as far as mindset go, but also business principles and marketing principles, how to get more leads, how to convert those leads and how to deliver. Also we work on leveraging yourself and how to not be the clog in the wheel. These are all things we work inside on the business through monthly trainings together and coaching through the group that we have together. So if you're interested in that, click the button below. I hope to see you on one of the calls and hope you enjoyed this video and got a ton out of it. Again, momentum. That's what we want. That's what we really, really need to get to our our goal. So make sure you use this framework over and over and over again. It's been really helpful for me, and I know it's been helpful for my coaching students, and I'm sure it can be helpful for you as well. Thanks for watching this video. I respect your time. I appreciate your attention. Have an amazing rest of your day, night, whatever it may be, and bye for now.
