How to manage your money like the rich and make the most of every dollar

T. Harv Eker’s YouTube coaching video describes four practical financial principles: (1) manage whatever money you have by developing the habit of budgeting, (2) increase income by investing in yourself (mindset, skills, habits), (3) earn by solving problems for people and scale to many people to make large sums, and (4) make money work for you via investing (recommendation: save/invest 10% consistently). The talk emphasizes habit formation over starting amounts and frames money as a result of helping others.

Today we're going to talk about how to make the most of your money, especially when you don't have a lot of it. Alright? Number one, you've got to manage your money. You've got to manage your money. And people tell me all the time, well, you know, what do you mean by that? Like, why do I have to do that, etc. Etc. Say, here's a very simple analogy. Imagine that you had a certain amount of money and you went to the grocery store once a week. Let's say you spent $200 at the grocery store. That was your food for the week. Okay? Now let me ask you a simple question. You got home at 11:30, 12:00 noon, you're a bit hungry, you're going to have lunch. Are you going to eat all of the food? You go, well, of course I'm not going to eat all the food. I bought it for the whole week. Exactly. You're going to handle it. You're going to manage it so that it lasts you appropriately. Yes or yes, it's the same when it comes to your money. You've got to manage your money and manage it properly. And we teach people how to do that. Now here's the thing. People go, hey, Harv, you know, you just said, especially when you don't have a lot of it. I don't have a lot of money to manage. Exactly. Here's the issue. A lot of people will say to me, harv, I don't have a lot of money to manage. There's nothing in front of me to manage. Whatever money you do have, okay, Whatever money, income you do have coming in, you've got to manage it. And here's why. We are creatures of. What starts with an H. What's the word? Who's got. Yes, habit. We are creatures of habit. And here's the thing. If you are not managing your money, when you start having more money coming in, maybe you've done our programs, maybe you see our income methods, money coming in, guess what's going to happen? You're still not going to manage your money and, and it's all going to dissipate and you're going to wonder, why am I not doing well financially? Why am I not getting rich? Why am I not getting financially free? Because you're not managing my money. Why are you not managing. Because you're not in the habit of it. So even if you have $1, $1 coming in, you need to break that up into certain segments that we teach and you need to Break that up and manage that $1. And if you can do that, you will gain the what? The habit. Because the habit is way more important than the amount. Let me say that again. The habit of managing your money is way more important than the amount. So, number one, manage your money. Number two, you want to earn more money. That's one of the. One of the ways to do well financially is, yeah, you have to manage it. But wouldn't it be nice if you earned a lot more money? Well, how do you earn a lot more money? You need to invest in yourself. You are the root of your success. How you go, who you are, your mindset, your beliefs, your character, your habits will determine your actions or no actions. They will determine your decisions. Or no decisions, good decisions, bad decisions, that all. You, you are the root of your success. You grow you. You will grow your money. You grow you this much much. Your money will grow this much. You grow you this much. Your money will grow this much. They are very, very proportionate because you are the root of your success. So you want to invest in yourself, grow yourself. You will grow your income. All right, let's go to number three. So we talked a little bit about income and growing yourself, but in the real world, how do you get more income? How do you make more income? How do you earn more money? Well, you need to know the source of money. And the source of all your money comes from where I've said it a thousand times. Other people, only people are the only elements on earth that utilize a currency called money. So why would someone give you their money? Because you are going to solve. What's the word? Solve a big or little problem for them in their life or make an improvement. That's why they're going to give you their money. So how do you make money? By solving a problem for people. You make. Now listen closely. This is very important. If you want to make money, let's say one money, you need to solve a problem for one person. Got it? Good. Solve a problem for one person, they give you their money. You got one money. Now how do you make some money? Well, you need to solve that same problem for some people. So now you solve the problem for some people. And. And some people get it right. Now you have some money. Great. Here's a great question. How do you make a lot of money? Simple multiplication. It's simple arithmetic. If you want to make a lot of money, you need to solve that one problem for a lot of people. One problem that you solve, you do it for a lot of People. And that's your essence. There's. You focus on. You say, people say, I want to make a lot of money. So they put all their energy and focus on money. Bad move. Because money is a result. Say that with me, please. Money is a result. Wealth is a result. You understand? And so if it's a result of what? A result of helping people solve their problem. You want one money, you solve that problem for one person. Some money, Some people. A lot of money. Lot of people. This is where we start teaching a lot about how to set up your business or your situation in order to be able to help a lot of people, especially at the same time. And in order to do that, you need to be able to remove yourself from that part of the equation. Because otherwise you'll become the limiting factor, won't you? And you won't be able to help a lot of people. All right, so we can get into that in another section. But that's what you need to understand right now. You want to earn a lot of money. Simple. Take your energy off of earning a lot of money and put your energy on helping a lot of people solve a problem. Your result will be a lot of money. And number four, irregardless of how much money you have or you don't have, you need to make your money work for you. Everyone who's rich, 99.9%, okay, will work for their money. And that's called active income. And then they will take that money and make it work for them. Why wouldn't you want to have both sides working for you? So you work for money. Money works for you. What do you mean money works for you? Money is a valuable commodity, right? People use it to be able to earn more money, etc. Etc. So people will borrow it. Etc. Etc. You will be able to invest it in companies. They utilize that money on the stock market. You are investing in a company. You're giving them money for them to spend and use and grow. That's what the stock market is the same in every other environment. Investment. So you work for money and then money works for you. But Harv, I don't really make enough money to invest. No, you've got to get out of that mindset. Remember what did we say earlier? Creatures of what habit. If you earn $10, I want you to take $1, 10%, no matter what it is, and pretend you didn't earn that dollar. Pretend instead of earning 10, you only earn 9. That $1 always goes to investment, right? And you've got to Start early, just with $10. If you start with earning $1 in a month, you say, oh, I only earned 90 cents this month. I'm going to take 10 cents. I'm going to invest that. Okay, what do you invest in it? You invested in some things that number one resonate with you and number two, you know, it kind of meshes with what you like and what you think you could be decent at and what you have an interest in. Some people I know are very heavy investors in the stock market. Okay. Other people I know are very heavy investors in real estate. Other people I know are very heavy investors in managed income properties, apartment building, etc. Etc. Other people I know are very heavy investors in mortgages. And all these things are available to you. So what resonates with you? Say, well, how do I know? Hey, it's not that hard to Google investments, investment types, Google it, read about each one, say, ah, no, no, no. Yeah, that's kind of interesting. And then you need to become decent at it or at least understand it. Even if you're giving your money to somebody else to invest for you. Which I do a lot of that because I don't have time to manage each little stock etc. So I have investment counselors and investment advisors and stuff like that and people in that who handle manage apartments for me and stuff like that. So the point I'm trying to make is that we're creatures of what, what's the word? I'm waiting. It's habit. It doesn't matter how much money you're starting with. 10% of it always goes to investments. And you start now. Harv, I'm broke. I mean, I have like $50 to my name, right? And I'm earning like I'm earning a hundred dollars this week. That's nice. You take 90 and you live on it. You take 10 and you invest it. But you don't know, you don't understand. You ever want to be financially free in your life, you will start the habit. Now, does that make any sense at all? I love you. Please take that with an understanding that I don't mean to be mean. I want to be able to be a coach that really, really provides value. And sometimes our own minds get in our own way, right? So I'm here to offset that sometimes. Anyways, if you like what you're hearing and you want more of it, subscribe to my YouTube channel. I will be very, very honored to work with.
