Momentum - Day #5 5x5 Business Growth Challenge

This is a short, multi-speaker motivational segment from T. Harv Eker's "Momentum - Day #5 5x5 Business Growth Challenge" (YouTube). Speakers deliver blunt exhortations: stop lying to yourself, admit uncomfortable truths, stop making excuses, and consistently 'show up' and fight for your goals. The recurring message is personal responsibility — winners demand success, life yields what you accept, so choose higher standards and persistent action.
Chapters
Every single day, people walk around just lying to themselves. They get up in the morning, look in the mirror and tell themselves that they ain't fat. When they weigh 240 pounds and can't walk up the f stairs without struggling for breath, they go into work all pissed off, telling themselves they deserve more money because they work hard. When all they do is sit on their f cking ass all day. They tell themselves and others around them that they're gonna do this and that or be this and that and don't do jack shit to go out and make it happen. These lies are one of the worst, most dangerous things that we can do as individuals. Because all the while that you're lying to yourself, you ain't going nowhere. How the hell are you supposed to get motivated to get up in the morning when it's cold and dark and you're in your bed and that's soft and warm? When you're telling yourself every day that you don't need to go to the gym because you ain't fat, it's time to start getting real and honest about your sh T. Because let me tell ya, all the while you're lying to yourself. You ain't gonna change shit. It's time to look in the mirror and tell yourself the truth. Whatever that truth is for you, whatever that thing is that you've been lying to yourself about. It's time to.
Life is always giving you a test, trying to give you a way out, trying to give you an excuse not to show up. But guess what? You gotta have the mentality to show up every day of your life. No matter what life throws at you. It's our responsibility to show up to the coliseum of life preparing for battle. I don't care what you're going through, what life's throwing at you. It's your responsibility to find your new hundred percent. Take it upon yourself to do that.
Stop making excuses, stop complaining. Nobody's listening. The market doesn't care.
Nobody gives a sh. You have to get in the fight, stay in the fight, see what you want and attack it. And don't stop until you achieve your goals. When you see something that you want and you're very passionate about it, go after it. Don't let anything stop you from getting it.
I don't care what the competition says. I don't care what the press said. I don't care what nobody says, to hell with it. I mean, I'm gonna going to be somebody. I'm going to see this thing through. I don't Know if I'm capable. Nobody does. But I'm dead gum tired of looking at my life and say, art, why didn't you try? Why didn't you just go for it and see if you can do it? Systems don't win for you. IQs don't win for you. You win. The difference is you. Life don't give you what you want. Life gives you what you'll accept. If you'll accept average and ordinary, that's exactly what you got to look forward to. If you'll accept having financial problems, that's exactly what's going to happen to you. If you'll accept being unhappy, you're going to be unhappy. See, winners expect to win. Winners show up and fight. Winners demand for themselves success and happiness and fulfillment. Folks, there ain't nothing you can't do if you want it bad enough.
Day five. Let's go. We're here. Sorry for the abrupt ending, but that's how it ended. That's how we did it. Welcome to day number five, Another day in this challenge. Our final day in this challenge. I am on the screen. I am looking nice and sharp for you guys. I'm ready to bring it home, bring you through it, keep you going, make sure that we are on track to continue to progress in our business growth. Remember, five times five. Business growth challenge. We've done so much over the last five days and we've actually done so little. So think about it in big sense and a little sense. You know, we've made small, incremental steps, but the steps have been such big progressions for so many of us on so many different levels. I want to talk about the video for one second and tell a quick story about trying. So I was in first year university in college, and I was talking to my dad on the phone. Many of you know my dad's T harv Eker. And in high school, I didn't try, okay? I just got by. My sister was the one who tried. She would have two hours, three hours of homework every single night. I would have none. No homework. Why would this guy have no homework and she has homework? I never had homework because I never did it. So I never tried in high school, but I always did okay. Like, I never failed anything. I never struggled. Maybe that's why my spelling sucks, but that's okay. But I never really tried in high school. So when I got to college, I went to from. I went from Canada, Vancouver, Canada, where I grew up, to United States. And I really wanted to go to the United States University. Because the first eight years of my life I lived in San Diego and there's a difference in mentality in schools there in Canada. You know, it's got a British, especially in Vancouver, it's got like more of a British vibe, a little more laid back compared to the United States where it's like more rah rah mentality. There's like a little more Greek life involved, there's a little more school spirit when it comes down to it. And I wanted to be a part of that kind of atmosphere. So I went to the United States to go to university. And it's expensive, right? And one of the things is I couldn't. I was on a visa, a specific visa, so I couldn't work in university. So my dad tells me one day on the phone right before I get started, he says, listen, the only way that you're going to be able to continue in this school is if you get a 3.0 average, which is about a B average in university. And he said, if not, then you'll have to pay for your tuition and go from there. And I was like, dad, come on, this is my experience to try college, give me a little bit of a break. And he said no. And he said something that I will never forget. And I think I've told you guys this before, but he told me because I've always wanted to be successful, I've always wanted to be wealthy and we've always had a lot of business conversations of what vehicle is going to help me get that and like, you know, live into my purpose of what I wanted to do. So after, you know, a life lesson of him telling me that basically I had, you know, unsuccessful people habits, you know, and that the things that I do don't reflect what I want and what I say I want is not what I actually am going to get because my actions don't reflect that. That was the first learning. But the second learning, which I think was even more important with you, like, listen, you are a smart kid, like you've gotten by. Why don't you just try? Why don't you just try, try it on, like give it a shot. What's the worst that can happen, right? You can fail or you can do good, but why don't you just try and see what it's like to actually try and go for it. So, you know, I tried and the next time I took a test, I created a study system that I created for myself. I call it the four day study system where you don't have to show up to class and then you could study for four days. And I did it and I created a system and I studied for four days and I got 100% on the test. And I was like, that felt good. That result felt really good. Like so much better than just getting by. Like, it just felt like really deep inside, like accomplish it. Just not the result, but the trying of it and then seeing a good result. It's really important for us to also remember that trying and working really hard does not give us the entitlement to get results. And that's something that I want everyone to really understand is like, just because you're working hard and you're trying doesn't mean you're entitled to get any sort of result. But when it does, it's so much sweeter. And so I got addicted to trying. I got addicted to working. I got addicted to really putting myself out there and just going for it, just from one little win, one little confidence booster, one little piece of momentum which we're going to talk about today. So I tried and then I tried again and I kept trying and pretty soon I had a completely perfect GPA. I actually had above a 4.0 GPA. After my first year and second year and third year and then my senior year, I started to get ready to get into the working life. And I was not super into school anymore. I ended up with a 3.87, I believe, which is like pretty close to straight A's. For my whole college I had honors, the second highest honors. I graduated with a business degree and I graduated with a certificate in small business entrepreneurship. A person who doesn't like academics so much, a person who never tried, a person who just gave it and started to learn to be successful. And that's where I really developed my success habits, was in school. I don't think school taught me anything great for the business that I'm in right now, nor anything else. It was great for a social environment and it was great for building successful habits and routines. That's what I liked school for and that's what I got from it. It wasn't anything I don't do. One thing that I learned from school in what I do today, which is crazy. So I just want to share that with you because so many of you were resistant to even trying this five day challenge. So many of you resistant maybe to even show up, maybe to press that record button on live. But you did and you tried it and we gave you the safe space to try it. And I said at the beginning, let's just not give a, I'm going to swear here, not give a fuck about this week. Let's just let it go. Let's just try and see what it feels like. And a lot of you, the progression that we've seen, the growth. We have a conversation, we use Slack in our team, which is a messaging service because we're all virtual and the conversations we're having, we're so impressed by so many of you. We've never seen something like this, an engaged community like this, a supportive community. I know Lisa had something going on yesterday and she was having some mind freak and some challenges and struggles and the community coming together to support her was like so beautiful. It was amazing. And just going for it and just being safe about it and just letting it go has just proven time and time again that that's how you grow, that's how you succeed, that's how you progress. And you just got to keep doing that. You just got to keep getting consistent, keep just moving forward, right? If you don't do the right thing, at least you've taken an action and you learn from it. You correct and you continue, right? You make a correction and you continue on and you don't beat yourself up for it, right? So what you didn't do live your first, it wasn't great. So what? It wasn't perfect. At least you tried. At least you showed up. At least you're here for it. The embarrassing thing for people is when they go through life and they don't try and they know that they could have done better. It's not embarrassing to fail. It's not embarrassing to be rejected. At least you're showing up. So I just want to congratulate all of you, whether you're watching this live or you are watching the replay in a little bit, just for showing up. Even if you haven't taken any action, showing up is the first thing, then you take action, right? So I just want to thank you. I'm so grateful that so many of you have decided, decided to just be here, participate, commit, go all in. Just let it go. Trust the process, trust us that we had you in good hands. Receive the information, be open to learning, be open to growing, committing to doing more. And you guys are starting to see some results. So many of you are starting to see results. You know, people are posting that, you know they're going live on their profiles, private profiles, getting great results. Like Casper or Marcella said something yesterday, she did something from yesterday and already saw results just from one thing that we taught yesterday. So not only are you taking what we're saying, but you're taking action with it. And if you keep doing that, imagine five days, what you did in five days, think about 30 days, think about 60 days when you have the right information. Think about 90 days from now. It's just mind blowing what we can accomplish in such a little time. It's really mind blowing how in five days we've just grown so much. Five days with the environment, with the tribe, with the community, with the information, with the mentorship, like how much you can actually grow in five days. Imagine 30 days. Imagine 60 days. Imagine a year. Imagine, you know, just. It's unbelievable. So you guys can understand me where I've been in the position for eight years now to be mentored by Harv, and obviously I'm not pick his brain on everything, right? There's a lot of different perspectives that we both have. I have different perspectives on certain things and I don't always go to him when I have questions. I have other mentors, I have other groups, I have other people that I trust as well. So being in the proximity of people that I respect, that I can learn from, that I can grow with, and making sure that I'm not ever feeling like I'm at the top, that I have room to grow and that I continue to focus on that and just continue my momentum to move forward is what has helped me succeed so quickly. I put the work in, I put the effort in and you guys can see that, right? You know, it took a lot of effort and work to create this five day challenge. But, you know, it's our honor and we seriously love doing it and it was probably for me personally, one of the most fulfilling things I've ever done. So I want to thank you guys so much for being here, showing up, and let's get going for day five. Who's ready? Let me see who's ready in the chat. Let's see who's ready for day number five. Let's do it. Day number five. Day number. Oh, my gosh, I'm ready. Whatever it takes. Marcella says go, go, go, says Charlotte. Heck yeah, says Brian. Group hug. Tracy says, hell yeah. You guys did great. Ready? Heather says. Rosa says, you rock. Let's go, says Tracy. Yeehaw, says Casper. Ching says, I'm ready. Mark says, yes. Day five. Karina, our head of content, says, day five. Ready, says Lisa. Woo hoo, says Rupa. You've been killing it on your videos. That yellow background is Very distinct. Good job with that jive with the five. Ready, ready, Ready. Shay says ready for it. She's on our team. Our amazing project manager, Troy, is ready for it. He's our marketing director. Isabelle is our head of client care. She's ready for. Our whole team is here. Ready for it. Let's do this, guys. I got Tamir on my call with me. He's ready for it. He's helping me out today. Thank you guys all for being here. Okay, so what do we like to do? Let's ingrain some of this. Let's make sure it's real. Let's make sure we feel it. Let's make sure we are here for it. Quick review of what we're gonna do. Right? There is three parts to our machine, our sexy machine. We have sexy machines, right? Sexy machines. We have three parts to that machine. What are the three parts to it? The first part. The second part. The third part. What of our three parts are sexy machine? Let's make sure this is fully ingrained. What are the three parts of our sexy machine? Let's see it. Michelle's got it. Input. Throughput. Output. Yes. Input. Throughput. Output. Input means what? Input means what? What does input mean? What is the input referring to? When we're starting our machine, what is the input? It's B. Who we need to be to make sure that we get the results that we want. The machine does never, never start. If you never show up for it. If you're not the person that you need to be. Not un. Not. Not being unauthentic, but you need to be the traits. The person that is actually going to succeed. If you need to focus, you need to focus. If you need to be more confident, you need to be more confident. If you need to be more courageous, you need to be more courageous, right? You come up with traits that you feel like these people need to be to get a certain result, and you've identified where you need some improvements, which we all need some improvements. That's really fine. Don't worry about that. But what we do need is we need to become that person. We need to not fake it till we make it on an unauthentic level, but we need to fake it till we make it as far as be.
