T. Harv Eker defines and warns about "Mind Frick," a self-sabotaging inner voice that prevents people from taking new or bold actions. He claims Mind Frick is the primary barrier to achieving any goal and contrasts people who control it (who take action and succeed) with those who yield to it (who fail).

As important as action is, and it is important, the problem is that most people have difficulties taking action, especially new action, especially big action. You know, they, they think about it, they dream about it, they sure talk about it, but they don't actually do it. Why? One word. Mind Frick. Mind. Mind freak. Mind Frick is the one and only thing that actually stops you from achieving anything, I repeat, anything you want in your life. It's what holds you back when you want to move forward. It's what instills doubt, worry and fear into your life when you try and step out of your comfort zone. Mindfreq, my friends, is enemy number one. One. Enemy number one. So what exactly is mindfreak? Mindfreak is that little voice in your head that tells you to stop or slow down or don't do this or don't try that, or what if this happens? Or what if that happens, or what if it doesn't work? And so on and so on and so on ad nauseam. Mindfreq is the red light in your head. It's the stop sign. The problem is that it's always red, even when the way is clear and we should be driving at full speed ahead. We all have mind Frick. But the difference between those who succeed and those who fail are those who can control their mind frick and those who can't control it. See, those who succeed, well, they don't let their mind stop them from taking action. While those who fail, well, they never even get started because they keep believing that fear based voice in their head.
