A short excerpt from T. Harv Eker arguing that teaching and training are the best ways to promote any business, product, or service. He claims group teaching provides leverage (scaling beyond one-to-one selling), positions the teacher as an expert whom people prefer to do business with, and serves as an effective, non-salesy marketing method.

I believe. Listen closely now. I believe teaching and training is by far the best way to promote. What's the word? Promote. Any business or any product or any service you have to offer. First, because selling one to one is old school. It's outdated. There's no leverage. It sucks. But when you teach, you are working with groups, be it small, like you know, 10 or 20 people at a time in a boardroom or in an office, or a hundred or a thousand or five thousand people at a time at a conference. In either case, you've created. What's the word? Leverage. Leverage. Which is essential in creating wealth. True or true. In addition, when you're at the front of the room or on a stage, what are you perceived as? Well, you. You're the teacher, so you must be a what? An expert? Yes or yes. And isn't it true that most people, including yourself, would prefer to do business with an expert? That's obvious, right? You simply teach or do some kind of training and people will actually line up at the end of your talk to ask questions and speak to you and from there they want to do business with. With you. Cool or cool. So definitely a great reason to be a teacher or trainer is because to me, it's the easiest and most effective and least selly way I know to market anything or get new business.
