T. Harv Eker reflects on how increasing business success harmed his personal life (marriage, family, recreation) and challenges the idea that one must choose between work and personal life. He argues for handling both by identifying and protecting "big rocks" (top priorities) within limited daily time, noting rigid equal-split schedules rarely work because life is variable. The segment sets up a method for balancing priorities rather than dividing time evenly.

As I started doing better and better in my business and financial life, I definitely noticed that my personal life was suffering from the standpoint of my family and my marriage and my being with my kids and being able to enjoy friends and having some free time maybe and recreation and play and going skiing and golfing. I was like, forget about any of that stuff, right? What do you do? Which one do you do? And the answer is both. Both. If you read my book, Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, poor people always think either or rich people think. What's the word? Both. They think both. So the question is, how do I do both? And there's an answer to this, believe it or not, that I've experienced and now taught to thousands and tens of thousands of my students. And I hope it can help you too. And this is what we mean by it. So you only have a limited amount of time. Okay, listen, you can talk about the universe and you live forever, but let's talk about reality. You have a limited amount of time, 24 hours a day like everybody else, okay? Some of that time you have to spend sleeping, etc, etc. So you have a limited amount of 15, 16, 17 hours a day to take care of everything else. So people say, well, I have like 16 hours, so I should spend eight hours working and eight hours, eight hours my business and eight hours in recreation and kids on that, right? Well, I don't know. That's not, that's not how to. That's not how I do it. Because it doesn't work out like that. Because life isn't like that. Life is just all over the place sometimes, isn't it? So what do you do? You balance your life and you make sure you take care of all of the important things in your life. What we call the priorities, what we call the big rocks, the big priorities in your life, those are the things that have to get handled.
