What I find to be one of the biggest problems for most people when it comes to business and money. Here we go. So I want to start this by relating a story to you from my own background. And I gotta tell you, this was the biggest mistake for me, but I didn't know it at the time and a lot of my students don't recognize it either. And I hope that you do after this video. So what happened? I was so hungry to be successful that I figured that if I just got the right business at the right time, I would make it. I mean, so many people were making it in this business or that business or that business. And I figured, hey, if I just jump into that business, I will do well too. And I used that system, that strategy for a full decade, over 10 years of my life. And guess what? I went through 10 businesses and none of them worked. Even though I was absolutely certain this was the way to the holy grail. Just get in the right business at the right time. You get into a race car, you're going to cross that finish line first. It didn't work. You want to know why? Because I forgot about the fact that you've got to be the right driver in the race car, okay? But I never put that together. And so for me, that became a huge problem until I said, screw it. I am so done with it. I was thinking about becoming a monk, literally. I was studying Zen Buddhism and going, maybe I should become a monk. Forget about this money stuff, yada, yada, yada. And finally, as a last ditch effort, I said, just screw all this. I'm just going to do what I like doing. I'm going to do what I enjoy doing. I'm going to do what I like helping people with because I just like being in that arena. And when I was in that, that stage in my life, I was in my early 20s. I was really big into fitness and I was really big into running. I just was a huge running proponent. I would run twice a day. I would run 8 to 10 miles in the morning, another 4 to 5 in the evening with a friend or whatever. Just loved, loved, loved running, you know. And so I decided, you know what, I'm just going to start talking and teaching people about fitness. And I ended up getting involved in the fitness arena. And from there I got. I ended up opening one of the world's first retail fitness stores, right? It was a home exercise equipment because I had my own challenges and finding good stuff, yada yada. I wasn't even really thinking about the money I was thinking about, people should be getting fit, and I believe in this and I can help them with and blah, blah. I was like a crazy man on fitness, right? And so I opened up the store and because I was so enthusiastic. What's the word? Enthusiastic. And I believed in it so, so much, people could hear my own enthusiasm and my own passion, and that was transferred to them, and they would want to be like.
