Foreign. The word psychedelic means mind revealing, and it is about a state of mind. The reason why that's important is because psychedelic states are achievable naturally without drugs and without medicine, and can be achieved through breathing techniques, meditation, yoga, soothing touch. I think if humans understood more about mushrooms and learned to be more like them, that we would have a more joyous and connected society. And the reason that they're so effective for supporting transformation is because they open up these windows of heightened plasticity and so they can be extremely adaptive. But I think it's also really important to remember that they can also be maladaptive if we're not working with them intentionally or, or in trauma informed ways, or in ways that are safe and that reduce harm. Psychedelics are healing because they help us integrate the inner and outer, our hearts and minds and our spirits with the way that we move through the world. It's a wonderful tool. It isn't necessarily curative or healing in and of itself, but it's a wonderful way to access places and create a lot of healing very quickly. Psychedelics don't give you anything that you don't already have. They actually reveal what's always been within you. Your resilience, your worthiness, your sovereignty. That's the healing, that's the revolution. When you skillfully. Psychedelics can be incredible to help us to reclaim sovereignty, to be more autonomous, to better understand the agency that we have to address the meta crisis. With more power comes more responsibility. These technologies are incredibly, beautifully powerful and to use them wisely, with respect and intention, and be in right relationship with these medicines and the communities that you're doing them in.
And I would say microdosing especially helps us to slow down and to listen to ourselves, to heal and to create from a place of authenticity and in a world that so often pushes us to sort of numb or perform. I find that psychedelics remind us of that presence and that connection and the self worth that are truly our greatest medicines.
Psychedelics are not inherently good or bad. They are an ally for. For our own personal growth, which can mean various things like our connection to God, our connection to self. Maybe you want to become a better mother, a better father, a better husband, a better wife, partner, whatever. They are just an ally in your journey.
So they require a grounded, safe, holistic container where the plants or molecules themselves are just one part of the medicine wheel. And they require us to participate in our own healing and life journey in order to catalyze their true potential. From preparation to ceremony to the long sacred work of integration. And I think that that's such a powerful metaphor or fractal image of life and our human experience. They are a powerful invitation into new ways of growing, living and being. And so I hope that we can integrate the lessons from indigenous cultures and the ways people all over the world have worked with these sacred medicines for millennia, and that these medicines can catalyze an embodied and holistic understanding of our agency and our interconnectedness to all of life.
