At a time when so many of us feel squished and contained and controlled by powerful economic, political, cultural, etc. forces, imagination is the inner freedom that dares to open more widely and be more inclusive of all kinds of possibilities, including possibilities for one's own life. And the rebellious, stubborn part of myself really appreciates imagination as that inner freedom that is never fundamentally defeated. And holding on to imagination and exercising our imagination gives us victories in the inner world, you know, even if we're limited somewhat in terms of what we can accomplish in the outer world. And meanwhile, those inner victories of imagination can help us to join with others. We're imagining a better world alongside us that can then lead to the kind of coming together for the greater good that can truly make the world we long for, the one that we've imagined along the way.
Well, if you look around yourself, as I do, in the world, you'll see a lot of things that need creative reimagining, a lot of things that are not working. And human beings got here by gigantic leaps of imagination and creativity. And in my lifetime, things are at a point now where we really need to call upon our creativity for our thriving as well as our surviving. Another thing is, as a human being, we have to keep opening up to our creativity all of the time because it's what gives us our zest and juiciness in life. Unless you're open to your imagination, You leave a— you live a flattened existence that's not as rich as it could be if you employed your full imagination.
Reclaiming our imagination allows for us to be both creative and logical and strategic. We've developed a reality that we're depending too much on one part of ourselves, and the left brain alone cannot carry us into the truth of who we are. Our imagination turns on and ignites the rest of who we are and allows us to be more of the solution rather than contributing to the problem.
I think reclaiming our imagination is more important and crucial than ever before because of all of the toxic information, media, social media that we're fed, all these narratives that we, you know, need to eliminate and create and, and, and, and, and basically reimagine our own reality around us. and our own consciousness is polluted with an onslaught of information that we're getting from media, from Hollywood and other places. So I think reclaiming our imagination is basically reclaiming our agency and reclaiming our future. Because if we don't have clarity around who we are and what we can co-create and that we have the ability to create any reality that we want in a more beautiful world that we all know is possible, then I— then, then this is really one of the pathways to achieving that.
We are at such a critical point on this planet right now, and we're at a junction point of, you know, pretty— the dark stuff or the light. And we get to create. We get to use our imaginations to create the world that we most want. And so people coming together— I love that My Life Reimagined, because it's all about people coming together to clearly reimagine our own lives and reimagine this planet with the truth of love And light and joy prevailing.
