Spoken excerpt from a YouTube video by Fleet Maull arguing that conflict and mistakes are inevitable in relationships. We are human, we are going to make mistakes. You're never going to have a marriage where both people are not going to argue at some point. That's why I say the master skill of relationships is not avoiding breakdown. You buy any relationship book, a high relationship coach, go relationship counselor, they all talk the same with the greatest respect, you know, delusional crap. Which is here's all the tools and techniques for learning how to avoid breakdown. You're not going to avoid breakdown. You're talking with two different people starring in two different movies with two different value structure growing at two different trajectories, right? Trying to operate within the same sphere with different levels. One's hangry, one's hormonal. Although tools should be put into place to minimize that. The master skill is in repairing breakdown once it's happened. You can see people that spent years avoiding breakdown only to have one and not know the techniques on coming back together and therefore you've irreparable damage because they haven't got the skills on how to restore connection after it's been withdrawn.
