In this brief interview, Dr. Ashish Paul, an Ayurvedic practitioner, explains how DNA serves as a genetic blueprint that links us to our ancestors. He describes Ayurveda’s view that the five elemental forces within the body connect us to the genetic material we inherit. According to Dr. Paul, everything we do—what we eat, how we think, our habits, and breathing practices—leaves an imprint on our DNA, influencing not only our own health but also the genetic legacy we pass to future generations. He emphasizes that cultivating good habits and a healthy lifestyle is crucial for transmitting optimal genetic material to our children. The interview concludes with Dr. Paul’s website, www.ashishveda.uk.
Welcome, Dr. Ashish Paul, Ayurvedic doctor and expert. So I know that you specialize, Ashish, with Ayurvedic medicine, and you've mentioned in the past about DNA. Can you explain a little bit more about DNA and Ayurveda?
So DNA is our basic genetic blueprint, so that's what makes us unique. And everybody's DNA is connected with our ancestors. So we actually have, you know, inherited, or we have the DNA connection to our ancestors long, long way back that we even realize. And what Ayurveda says, that with our 5 elements of the universe that we have within our body as well, we are connected to each and everything, and especially to the genetic material that we inherit from our parents, our grandparents. So anything and everything that we do in our life, everything that we eat, the way we think, the way we behave, our habits, they actually transcend into our DNA. And with that, sometimes you see that, you know, even, even an itching habit of a grandparent is inherited by, by the children or grandchildren. It's, it's amazing to see how all these habits trickle down into our genes, into our DNA. So no wonder that the diet that we eat and all the lifestyle habits that we maintain, our DNA, our genes actually have a memory of it. So when we have good habits, we are not having good habits for ourselves. We are actually keeping these habits to pass on to the next generation. So it's crucial that we, whatever we are eating, whatever lifestyle habits we are having, breathing techniques we are doing, or anything else that we do through our life, we do it so that we can pass on the best genetic material possible to our children.
Excellent. That is so interesting. Thank you, Dr. Ashish Paul. And your website is?
