Hello and welcome to this video about chakras, your energetic ecosystem, with me Heather Prince. For any of you that have done yoga, you might have heard about chakras, and those of you that haven't, let's introduce you to them. So the body has spinning energy centers and And they look like spinning wheels, and they're called chakra. It's a Sanskrit word for wheel because they move round like a wheel on a vehicle, and they're placed from the very base of your spine to the very top of your head. So let's go through them. So right by your coccyx at the base of your spine is your base chakra. Also, people call it the root chakra. This is all about security, survival, trust, the relationship with money, your home, and your job. It relates to our basic needs in life. It's about security, that sense of belonging, roots within society and family, your confidence, self-awareness, and the monetary and material existence necessary for our survival, shelter, Warmth, etc. It's our ability to be grounded, to be present in the here and now. It's the ability to allow oneself to be nourished in the sense of allowing one's inner being to be satisfied. Now, this chakra also reflects a person's connection with their mum and with Mother Earth and how the person feels about being on Earth. And it's about our connection with the physical body. Just above your base chakra, your root chakra, is the sacral chakra, and it's located about 2 inches below your belly button. Now, this chakra is associated with the parts of the consciousness concerned with food and sex. It's about the body's communication to the being inside about what the body wants and needs and what it finds pleasurable awareness of others on an intimate one-to-one level. So it's motivated by pleasure and joy, and the sacral chakra is the driving force for your enjoyment of life. And when your sacral chakra is balanced, it enables you to feel and experience life to its fullness. Because it's the center of passion, your sacral chakra awakens your power of creation, and this allows you to discover what you truly enjoy and create intimate relationships. It helps to cultivate flexibility and adaptability, and this empowers you to move on, accept change, and transform. And when it's balanced, the sacral chakra allows you to be passionate, creative, and sensual while connecting with your feelings and emotions. The solar plexus chakra is just about 2 inches above your, your navel, your belly button, and this 1 is all about the relationship that you have with yourself. So the question is, do you truly value the needs of yourself and value and honour your own personal power? Sometimes in our busy demanding lives, we lose track of our personal values and who we really are. We're so wrapped up in what others expect of us and how they see us, and so this is the centre where we balance our our inner needs amongst the external demands of life. This is where we are shaped and formed as individuals. Parts of the consciousness associated with this chakra include perceptions concerned with power, control, freedom, the ease with which one is able to be themselves— ease of being— mental activity, and the mental body is also associated with this chakra. The solar plexus chakra is also associated with the level of being we call the personality or ego. The heart chakra is all around your heart area. It's about your perceptions of love, relationships, relating with people close to your heart. you know, your partner, siblings, parents, your children. So it relates not only the ability to love oneself and to love and nurture others, but also to allow ourselves to be loved and nurtured. And through the heart chakra, we become aware of and embrace love on a deeper and larger universal scale. For instance, when we hear of a tragic incident on the other side of the world Our hearts may reach out and we are in touch with the energy of universal love. Now, difficulty with breathing or with the lungs, the organs of air, indicates tension in the heart chakra, and a person's relationship with air reflects their relationship with love. The throat chakra is all about expressing and receiving. Expressing can be in the form of communicating what one wants and what one feels, or it can be an artistic expression as an artist painting, a dancer dancing, a musician playing music, using a form for expressing and bringing to the outside what was within. Now expressing is related to receiving, as in ask and ye shall receive. This is the centre of creativity and acceptance of change. Now this throat chakra connects with the etheric realm as well as the subtle realms of your intuitive abilities and your spirit. It gives you the inclination to create and project your blueprints and ideas into reality, and this chakra helps you realize your purpose or your vocation, and it makes sure that you have a good sense of timing. The throat chakra is all about expressing yourself. It's fills you with the truth, with your purpose in life, and with an abundant source of creativity. And you must remember that this chakra has a natural connection with the sacral chakra, which is the center of your emotions and creativity. And this chakra's emphasis is on expressing and projecting your creativity to the world according to your perfect form and authenticity. The third eye chakra is situated right between our brows, and it's associated with the deep inner level of being we call the spirit, and with what we consider spirituality and the spiritual perspective—the point of view from that deeper part of our being that Western traditions consider the subconscious or unconscious. The energy of this chakra. Allows us to experience clear thought as well as gifts of spiritual contemplation and self-reflection. Through the gift of seeing, we can internalize the outer world, and with symbolic language, we can externalize the inner world because the third eye allows us to access our inner guidance that comes from the depths of our being. It allows us to cut through illusion and to access deeper truths, to see beyond the mind, beyond the words. And the way of the third eye is seeing everything as, as it is from a point of being a witness or an observer, or from simply being mindful moment by moment. It means examining self-limiting ideas and developing wisdom that comes from a perspective that transcends the duality of good or bad, black or white. It means seeing and helping others to see the deeper meanings of the situations in their lives. And finally, we have the crown chakra, which balances, as it says, like a crown on top of your head. It represents that part of our consciousness concerned with perceptions of unity or separation. So just as the root chakra showed our connection with Mother Earth, This chakra shows our relationship with our Father in Heaven, and it represents our connection with our biological father, which becomes the model for our relationship with authority and ultimately with God, Source, or the universe— whatever relates with you. It's the level of the soul, and when we experience a sense of separation from our father, we actually close our crown chakra and we can experience a sense of isolation and aloneness, as if we're in a shell and we're having difficulty with feeling contact with those around us. And thought processes tend to justify and maintain this sense of aloneness. Now, each chakra is actually symbolized as a lotus flower each with a different number of petals. And this crown chakra is known as the thousand-petaled lotus because it is the totality of enlightenment. And consciousness is a force, and we are made up of it, surrounded by it. We're a part of it, and we do not create it. It's a matter of opening up to it or be tapping into it. It's the level of the soul, as I've said. So I hope that you have enjoyed understanding a little bit more about your chakras, and I look forward to hearing any of your questions, and you can send them to my email heather@heatherprince.co.uk.
