Hello and welcome to this video which is sharing with you the coaching tool of why you should be keeping a journal. Now I used to keep a diary as a teenager and I used to hide it in my special secret place so my family wouldn't read it and it helped me deal with life struggles as a teen trying to fit in with my peers and find my place in life and at the time I I didn't understand how writing down my thoughts helped me mentally. All I knew was that it felt good to get all that was swirling in my head down on paper. Are you feeling mentally exhausted? Because when you journal, it really helps you get down What's going on inside your mind. Now, we live in a day and age where life can get really busy, and physically we run from here to there, and we're trying to get 100 things done in one day. And mentally, we're just as busy churning thought after thought like 1,000 hamsters on a wheel. And you know what? It can get exhausting. And plenty of people complain of not being able to fall asleep at night, and they can't sit still during the day, and they're too tired to be fully present with loved ones. So if that sounds like you, please continue watching. If you're struggling mentally, there are certainly things you can do to feel better. Mindfulness and meditation are working wonders for millions of people, so I have included podcasts throughout the Fearlessly Moving Forwards method. Taking time daily to just go inside and enjoy quiet is therapeutic. The hardest part is actually making yourself stop long enough to do it, so please schedule it into your diary. But the best practical tool that I'm going to share with you right now is journaling, which means writing down your thoughts regularly. Now, you may not be much of a writer, and that's all right. There's no right or wrong when it comes to journaling. You simply write what you want when you want. Now, journaling can help you get those thoughts that have been swirling in your head onto paper, and this can help you feel better mentally. You simply start writing them down knowing that these are your thoughts and no one else will be reading them. And to help you get started, here are some helpful tips and benefits about journaling. You can write in your journal every day, but you don't have to. If you just want to write several times a week, that's fine too. Write when you feel like it. You can use a pen and physical journal, or you can type on your computer or tablet. Do what works for you. And it might be helpful to set aside time to write, maybe just before you go to bed, or while you're having your coffee in the morning, or your hot water and lemon, whatever it is that you have. And try to write where it's quiet and you can sit comfortably. You can write anything you want. You can use it to answer the insightful questions as you go through the Fearlessly Moving Forwards method, or you can write about your feelings. You can also jot down your short and long-term goals affirmations, poetry, your intentions, and so much more. The key is just start writing and see where it leads you. And you may find yourself just writing for a few minutes in the beginning, but as you continue journaling regularly, the entries may grow longer, and you may even notice that your thought patterns are changing from negative Research indicates that regular journaling reduces anxiety and stress, and we all want that, don't we? So when you sit down and write, you're in the present moment. You're not thinking about yesterday or last week or what happened last month. You're not thinking about tomorrow or what's going to happen next year. You're in the present moment and you're going within to hear what's going on in the mind and then releasing pent-up feelings on paper. And this is so therapeutic, reducing anxiety that's been building in your energetic system. At the end of each week, after you've done your work watching a video or 2 or listening to a podcast, reread that week's journaling as well. Do you see a change in your thoughts and/or your emotions? What keeps popping up over and over? Do you notice any triggers that are causing you to impulsively react to others? You'll be able to get to know yourself better as you track your life. You'll get to know who pushes your buttons most, what situations you should avoid, what you want to do more of, and so on. At the beginning of each week, set new intentions for the coming week. Maybe you want to watch 2 new videos this week from the Fearlessly Moving Forwards method. Maybe you want to pick a meditation podcast that's relatable to you and you intend to listen to it every night before bed. Or maybe you want to get out and exercise perhaps you'd like to contact a friend you haven't spoken to for a while. So setting new goals is therapeutic and journaling will help keep you accountable. Making journaling a lifelong practice is an amazing thing to do. So just think about reading your journal not only years down the road but 90 days from starting the Fearlessly Moving Forward course and just see how things unfold. Because when you make journaling a practice, you'll not only feel better mentally, you'll have created a lovely keepsake that you're going to cherish down the road. So start journaling today, and before long, you'll look forward to penning your thoughts, knowing that you're practicing self-care for for your mind and body.
