Hello, I want to talk about flu. It's everywhere right now, especially with the little ones, and if you're a mum or a grandma like me who's already running on empty, the last thing you need is another worry added to your plate. Most of the women that I work with are already carrying emotional overload, juggling work, home and a heart that hasn't fully healed yet. So when your nervous system is stretched thin, even a simple cold season feels like a storm. So let's keep this simple, gentle and natural. Here are a few grounded ways to support your family's immunity if If you choose not to do the flu jab without fear and without overwhelm. Firstly, keep their nervous system calm because kids pick up on your stress. A calm home, stronger immunity. Even 5 minutes of slow breathing with them works wonders. Secondly, nourish them from the inside out. Warm homemade soups, honey and lemon, elderberry, vitamin C foods, garlic, ginger. It's ancient wisdom for a reason. When your child is run down, it's never just physical. Kids mirror the energy of the home, and so many women I support have been carrying emotional heaviness, heartbreak residue, and constant mental load. And when your system is dysregulated, your child's immunity gets shaky too. So let's talk about true nourishment, not just food on a plate. This is the stuff that strengthens their energy field and their physical body. Elderberry is Sambucus, the immune superhero, supports their natural defenses. It reduces the intensity of symptoms and it tastes good. It's perfect as a syrup or mixed into warm water. It's gentle, ancient, and deeply trusted in natural medicine. And raw honey, it's on Amazon, which is over 1 year old, is a soothing antibacterial powerhouse. It calms coughs, it boosts sleep, and supports the throat. And a teaspoon of that in warm, not boiling water, Is enough. And vitamin C rich foods rather than tablets, think everyday foods, think oranges, kiwis, berries, peppers, broccoli. These strengthen immunity while bringing colour and life back into their body. And garlic, it's the natural antiviral. Pop it in your soups, your roasts, your stews. It's nature's antibiotic. You don't need loads, even one clove a day will make a difference and ginger is one of my favourites. It's, you know, it's the warmth our body craves. It's perfect for breaking down mucus, soothing nausea and calming the chest and warm ginger tea with honey is a little cup of magic. Now and also bone broth or veggie broth. This is deep nourishment, the kind that rebuilds. It supports the gut where 70% of the immune system lives and keeps them hydrated. On YouTube you'll find my chicken soup recipe. So hydration with purpose, warm water, herbal teas, electrolytes because when kids are hydrated their body flushes out viruses faster and avoids the headaches, the tiredness and crankiness that make winter feel heavier and here's the real emotional link that Most women that I work with don't just worry about flu, they worry about dropping the ball. They feel overwhelmed, stretched, and guilty for not being Superwoman. So I want to remind you, nourishing your child is also nourishing yourself. When you're emotionally grounded, you're less likely to get sick. calm and supported, your children become more resilient too. This is why, you know, what I'm sharing with you is really powerful. Also remember fresh air, open the window, daylight, short winter walks, it boosts the mood, immunity and sleep rhythm and nature clears the energy and the sinuses and if you can cut out sugar where possible. I know you can't I know we can't do it 100%, but just know that sugar suppresses immunity and ramps up inflammation. And remember that rest is medicine. Kids thrive on routine. Early nights protect their bodies far more than we realize. Keep the home energetically light. As I say, open a window, sage if you feel called to do so, or simply play some nice relaxing music. A light energetic field supports physical well-being. You're not powerless, you're not helpless, and you don't need fear-based solutions to stay healthy. You just need to support the body, the energy, and the nervous system the same way we do in deep relationship healing, because a regulated home raises healthy kids and a regulated woman becomes the anchor that her children lean into. I hope this helps. Please do comment and let me know.
