Hello. Today I want to talk to you about why perfectionist women slowly lose themselves in a marriage or a relationship or in motherhood. And she might look like she has it all together and the house runs smoothly, the child is cared for, the appointments are organised, the birthdays are remembered. Say hello, Henry. Hello. The meals are planned, the school bag's packed, The husband supported, the work handled from the outside. She looks capable, attractive, responsible, and strong, but internally she's exhausted. Because what many people are actually looking at is not simply a good woman, they're looking at the archetypal Perfectionist woman. And perfectionism in real life does not always look like colour-coded cupboards and perfect Instagram posts. Sometimes it looks like never relaxing fully, constantly thinking ahead, struggling to switch off, feeling responsible for everyone's emotions, Overthinking conversations, finding it hard to ask for help, feeling guilty sitting down, needing everything done first before resting, and becoming irritated when things feel out of control, and silently carrying emotional pressure nobody sees. And many women Don't even realise they're living this way because they've been functioning like this for years. The perfectionist woman often becomes the emotional manager of the household. She notices everything— who's upset, who needs something, what hasn't been done. What could go wrong? What needs organising next week? Her nervous system rarely switches off, even when she's sitting down. Mentally, she's still working, and slowly this creates emotional exhaustion, not because she's weak, Because she's been carrying the mental and emotional load of everyone around her for too long. Now here's where relationships begin struggling. Many women pour so much energy into motherhood, responsibility, and holding life together That they unknowingly stop nurturing the relationship itself. The child becomes the emotional centre of the household, and again, loving your children deeply is beautiful, but when a woman loses herself entirely in motherhood and responsibility, the marriage often starts emotionally Starving. Because the relationship slowly becomes schedules, routines, bills, school runs, tired conversations, logistics instead of connection, intimacy, affection, playfulness, emotional presence, desire. The couple become co-managers instead of lovers. And this happens quietly over time. The perfectionist woman often believes, if I just do more, everything will stay okay. So she keeps giving, keeps organizing, keeps fixing, keeps anticipating everyone's needs before they even speak. But underneath that behavior, is often fear. Fear of failure, fear of conflict, fear of disappointing people, fear of losing connection, fear of not being enough. So instead of resting into love, she performs for it, and eventually she becomes resentful because she feels emotionally unseen despite doing everything for everyone else. Meanwhile, her husband may quietly begin feeling emotionally disconnected too, not necessarily because he stopped loving her, but it's because the relationship no longer feels emotionally alive. There's less flirting, less lightness, and Less presence, less intimacy. Everything revolves around responsibility, and many couples end up sitting in the same room feeling completely alone together. Now, this is important. The perfectionist woman is usually deeply loving. She's not selfish. In fact, the opposite— she overgives, but But many women learned early in life that their worth came from being useful, capable, needed, or good, so they became hyper-responsible adults who struggle to simply receive love, softness, support, or rest without guilt, and this pattern shows up everywhere— in relationships, in being a parent, in work, in friendships, even in how they speak to themselves internally. Eventually, the soul gets tired, and this is why many women in midlife suddenly feel emotionally flat, disconnected from themselves, lonely inside a marriage, deeply unfulfilled despite having everything and craving purpose or deeper meaning. And they're drawn toward healing, spirituality, retreats, meditation, or self-worth work because their soul is trying to bring them back to themselves, back to the woman underneath the pressure, back to softness, Back to truth, back to emotional peace. Healing begins when a woman realizes my worth is not measured by how much I carry. That changes everything because she stops trying to earn love through exhaustion. She starts expressing needs honestly, receiving support, creating emotional connection again, reconnecting to her femininity instead of living permanently in survival mode. And from there, relationships can begin healing too, because children do not benefit from watching a woman disappear inside responsibility. They benefit from witnessing affection, connection, emotional safety, partnership, joy, healthy love between 2 adults. Children learn Relationships by observing relationships. So if you've been feeling emotionally exhausted lately, if you've lost yourself in motherhood, responsibility, or trying to hold everything together perfectly, please hear this: you do not have to carry the world to deserve love. And healing starts the moment you stop abandoning yourself while caring for everyone else. Now, if what I'm sharing resonates with you, I've created a free self-worth workbook to help you identify the unconscious patterns keeping you stuck in overgiving, emotional exhaustion, and relationship disconnection.
