Hello and welcome everyone to this week's The Talk, and I hope that you're all well and you've had a good week. For all of you that, uh, watch the replay, please do put in the comments hashtag replay, and for those of you that watch The Talk live, please say hello. I do like to know your name, and if you haven't given StreamYard permission, please do, or just put your comment and add your name so I know who's joined me today. And today is a really mega day because we have a solar eclipse. So if you're not watching this live, it's the 25th of October. It's actually my youngest son's birthday today, and we have a solar eclipse. Now it's in Scorpio and it's about guiding you to explore the unknown and befriend the fears that we've chosen to repress, that we've actually pushed down, that we don't really want to look at. But this solar eclipse is encouraging us to actually befriend them, and I know it's not easy to do Uh, because it's what scares you the most. But looking fear right in the eye can also be wildly empowering. So an eclipse doesn't have to be a traumatic experience. In fact, it can lead to something as simple as learning how to trust and letting go of doubt. Um, some of you could feel compelled to embrace deep introspection and come away from it prepared to break away from a toxic habit that may bring out the worst in you. Or something powerful is being illuminated and you're getting to the root of the problem. And that's what I'm all about. I'm all about getting to the root of the problem. So today I'm going to share with you some tips for getting over a relationship, and the top tips that I'm going to share you might want to jot down, or you might just, um, feel that you'll remember them and do them anyway. Number 1 is recognize what wasn't working for you in your previous relationship or previous relationships. There might be more than one that you might want to, you know, have a look at. What wasn't working for you in each one? Was it the similar pattern, or was it something completely different in each one? And are you spending a lot of time thinking about all the ways you messed up in your relationship with your ex, but all the ways he was great? Do you keep going over in your mind an argument, wondering if things would have been better if you said or did something different from the beginning with him? You feeling guilty or bad that things didn't work out? Do you daydream about all the ways he was special and how you'll never find anyone who understands you quite the same way that he did? Maybe you can share if any of that resonated with you in the comments. And romanticizing or replaying the past is a pretty common thing that many people do when they break up. And, and even me, I did it when I first broke up. So it's 100% sure to only make you feel more awful, not to mention that it keeps you from focusing on what's most important to you right now, and that is learning how to get what you want and how to have the kind of relationship that you deserve in the future. And when you focus on your ex too much and you spend your time pining away for a relationship, you miss out on a very important lesson. You stop seeing all the ways that relationship made life a roller coaster for you. You don't realize all the ways he wasn't right for you or made you feel less than your true self. You don't learn what it is you really want and need from a relationship in order to be fulfilled. Let's face it, you were let down some very negative emotional paths by the person, weren't you? So again, let me know in the comments if making this big mistake of focusing on your ex is something That you're, you're doing. And it's time to take off the rose-tinted glasses, thinking only of the good times and how much you miss them. Consider all the things he did and said that made you feel insecure, anxious, or frustrated— feelings that one way or another probably contributed to the end of the relationship. So the question is, what can you learn about yourself, love, and men from the things that drove you two apart so that you're sure to have a more intimate, loving, and evolved relationship next time round? And again, if you wish to share in the comments, please do. The second thing is to stop losing yourself in your relationships. And what do I mean by that? Um, you probably gave up a lot to be with your ex. You gave up your time with your friends and family. You gave up doing things you used to love doing, things like reading, exercising, going on spa weekends with your friends, maybe seeing a ballet, opera, visiting art galleries, whatever it is for you. You gave it up in order to spend time with him. You gave it up to make him feel comfortable. You gave things up because the relationship seemed important and you wanted it to work. So maybe you want to share in the comments what, what did you give up? So stay emotionally attached to them because you feel that you can't get over them easily since you gave up so much. I get it. You might feel too depressed to go out with your friends or get back to the things that used to make you feel alive and happy. Then guess what you're doing? Yeah, that's right. You're still giving up more of you And your happiness for their sake, even though they're out of your life. So have weeks, months, or even years gone by and you're still in the same sacrificing place, putting your life on hold instead of realizing your own needs? It's time to snap out of it. You're actually continuing the very thing that helped break your relationship apart. And made you feel unhappy and unfulfilled. The third thing that I suggest is to be ready for love when it finds you. When you end a relationship that felt like it had a lot of promise and connection, it's hard to believe you'll ever find love again, at least in quite the same way. You might even vow not to date again for a long time because you just don't want to get hurt again. I get that. It can feel pretty safe to live inside the little bubble, your little comfort zone you make for yourself, just working on your career, spending time with friends, doing things that make you happy. What do you need a man for anyway? You might think You put yourself and your love life in a holding pattern because you don't want to let another man in to get close. You don't want to be vulnerable. What's the point if all that's going to happen is that you'll end up feeling more of the same bad feelings you're trying to get over right now, right? The one great person you're meant to be with could be out there right now. In fact, I'm sure that somebody's out there praying for a beautiful lady like you. Unless you create the space for them in your life by doing some inner work, you won't be ready for love when it finds you. Okay, you may feel pretty in control and safe right now, But are you living? If you're not taking a risk, are you risking never feeling the love and connection that could transform your life someday? Go and nod your head right now if you even feel a glimmer of truth in what I'm saying. And here's another common thing that I hear from people who aren't ready to date again. There's no good men out there for me anyway. The ones I'm attracted to aren't attracted to me, or they're taken. I can see how you may feel that way if you're not sure how you're going to attract the right person, plus your recent experience with men has been, well, less than great. Here's the truth: About attraction. It's not about being a great beauty or about seducing a man into having feelings for you. Actually, it's about something deeper and more long-lasting. And the best part is that once a man feels this level of attraction for you, almost nothing can keep him away. from wanting to be with you. So are you solo after a breakup, or perhaps you feel frustrated about the state of your relationship but you want to avoid separation and/or divorce?
