Brian Johnson uses a pottery study where students making 50 pots created better work than those focused on quality alone. His point: set a concrete daily target, start creating, and let repetition compound into mastery.

You want to make your life a masterpiece, make your day a masterpiece. As artists creating masterpiece days, one of the most powerful lessons in creativity we've talked about. £50 equals an A, right? So imagine a study in which teachers assign their pottery class into two different groups. Right? Now the teacher can say, hey guys, you will get an A if you create an amazing piece of pottery. Or you'll get a, B, C, D, depending on the quality. And he says to the other group of students, hey, go create £50 worth of pots. That's all I need you to do. Fast forward to the end of the semester. Which group produced the best quality art? As you may have guessed, 50 pounds equals both an A and the highest quality art. It's all about the iterative nature of this. Go create. The quality of your art will go up. Think about your ideal day, get into action, and then iterate, knowing as we aggregate and compound those tiny gains, masterpiece days are created.
