A short mini-chapter video by Brian Johnson (A Philosopher's Notes) emphasizing that mastery arises from passionate consistency on fundamentals, a concept credited to Robin Sharma's The Greatness Guide. Johnson lists his personal daily fundamentals (meditation, movement, study/reflection/journaling, appreciation, and giving/joy) and encourages viewers to identify and consistently practice their own fundamentals.

Hi, this is Brian with another mini chapter from A Philosopher's Notes. The this one's called Consistency on the Fundamentals. Robin Sharma studies greatness. Guess what he says all great people have in common. If you look at the title of this chapter and guess Consistency on the Fundamentals, you win. Sharma tells us that although the specific manifestation of one's greatness may take the form of being an extraordinary athlete, political leader, entrepreneur, artist, musician, etc. What you'll find among all masters is a passionate consistency on their fundamentals. They show up day in and day out and rock the stuff that's most important to making them exceptional in their field. Consistency on the fundamentals. Kind of synonymous with blissiplines, eh? And kind of begs the question, what are your fundamentals? My current fundies. I meditate every day. I. I move every day. I study, reflect, journal every day. I appreciate my wife and life every day. And I strive to give joy and enjoy every day. How about yours? What are your fundamentals? Let's get consistent on our fundamentals. That big idea is from Robin Sharma's great book called the Greatness Guide. You might dig it. Actually, I think you probably would really dig it. One of my favorites. All right, for now, let's rock our consistency on our fundamentals and have another awesome day. Look forward to sharing more with you soon.
