Brian Johnson delivers a short motivational coaching monologue about what to do when challenges exceed your current skill level. He recommends both lowering the immediate challenge (simplify, seek small wins) and raising your skills, framing challenges as gifts that fuel growth; emphasizes self-mastery, love for your mission, and that you are already heroic during the struggle.

The challenges are exceeding your current level of skill. There's two ways to deal with that. Reduce the challenge a little bit which you always want to do without giving up the big vision. Simplify the battlefield, make it easier to win, have very small gains that you can get and again if the challenges are greater than your skills you bring the challenges down and you bring your skills up and that's why these challenges are gifts. It's not a theoretical concept that sounds good, it's true. That's what fuels your growth and when you really get that and you have the wisdom to see that and the self mastery to do what you know needs to get done and the love for yourself and for your mission and for your quest and for the people you're serving. You don't need to wait until you get to the point you want to get where everything's stable when you're through this storm. Right now you are heroic.
