Hesed Ojieh says you can't stop overthinking by disconnecting from your mind. Instead, fill it with scripture. He records Bible passages on his phone, plays them in his car, and prophesies aloud to himself. A crowded mind leaves no room for unwanted thoughts.
How do we, knowing all that, you know, how do we disconnect from our mind when we need to?
You can't disconnect from your mind.
How can we, like, okay, well, how can we, like, make our mind not think these things? How can we—
that's thought—
maintain, you know, the mind?
Okay, there are 5 areas in your house. This is what I do, and this is the greatest job you need to do. You must feed your mind or else you'll be in problem. So when I enter my car, I'm prophesying to myself. I don't think. So, my mind has no room to think because it's overcrowded with what God is saying. So, a lot of people who are close to me know that I don't think. I don't think about anything. It's not because I don't want to think, because there's nothing to think about. Before you came, I just told you about the coffee, right? Before you came, I was just excited. Am I going to— you think I'm going to be thinking, "Wow, where is it?" No. In my car, I don't play music in my car, I play scriptures. In my car, I have my phone, I have recorded scriptures. I'm prophesying to my phone, so I'm playing it when I'm alone. And the law of repetition, I, I repeat it over and over, over and over until my mind begins to play it.
Amen.
If your mind does not play it, you— it has not entered. Ah, see
