The Assignment College I Dr. Hesed Ojieh I Class #4

Dr. Hesed Ojieh teaches on serving seriously in church ministry, defining it through three qualities: ability, availability, and reliability. He uses Joshua's long service to Moses and Jesus' 30 years with Joseph as models, arguing that without these three things, you're replaceable and won't be promoted.

Now begin to pray for understanding. Begin to pray for understanding. In the name of Jesus, we pray for understanding. In the precious name of Jesus, Son of God. Can I have an amen? Hallelujah! Libra! Hallelujah! This is the Assignment College. Hallelujah! Class 4. Today we're dealing with— hallelujah— your assignment requires serving seriously. Your assignment requires you to serve seriously. Your assignment requires you to serve God seriously. Hallelujah! Your assignment requires serving seriously. Today's topic is serving seriously in that thing that God has called you. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! The first thing I want to ask this morning is, uh, where are you serving in the ministry that you are in? Where are you serving? First question, hallelujah. The last one year, where have you been serving? Is there a particular department, a particular place that God has assigned you to serve? Hallelujah. If you are not serving, you have no assignment to fulfill in the house of God. Your assignment requires that the last one year, where have you served? Where are you serving other than coming to church? Where are you serving other than you coming to church service, weekday, weekdays and weekend? Hallelujah. Now my next question is the last The last 6 months, where have you served in the ministry? The last 1 month, 3 months, where have you served? So 3 questions this morning to know, hallelujah, to see and to place yourself on the map of the divine assignment that God has for you. God has an assignment. We've dealt with that, hallelujah. This morning is your assignment requires you to serve seriously, hallelujah. God's intent, God's intention is not for you to come to church every day and you go back home. There is a place where God has assigned you. So if you have not served the last 1 year, served the last 6 months, serve the last 3 months, you are not in the plan that God has for you. Most importantly, right this moment, where are you serving in the house of God and where God has placed you? Hallelujah! So when we say your assignment requires serious serving, seriously, we're saying that it means that the ministry where God has placed you, you are using 3 things. Number 1 is your ability. Number 2 is your availability. Number 3 is your reliability. If God has given you an assignment, you must be serving somewhere in a local church, in a place. Hallelujah! And the last 3 months, you must at least have something that you are doing for God in that ministry. Hallelujah! Other than hearing and hearing and hearing and hearing the word of the Lord. And we talked about it also that there are 3 ways, hallelujah, God wants you to serve. One is your ability. That thing that is placed in you that makes you special, that makes you meet a need in where God has called you. Hallelujah! Serving, serving, hallelujah, with your ability in the name of Jesus. Number 2 is serving with your availability. Hallelujah! You've got to know the time, hallelujah, required. You've got to know, do you have what it takes to meet what is needed for what God wants done where you are? So you must serve seriously if you are available to meet the need that God has right where you are. A lot of people want to serve God, but they want to serve God on their own time. Availability is the protocol that makes God know that you are serious. Hallelujah! That means you are on God's time. Are you listening to me? So we also talk about reliability. Hallelujah! Can you— can God rely on you to do what you need to do? Can God rely on you to do what you need to do? Hallelujah! So serving seriously has nothing to do with what you like to do, but what God wants you to do. Did you get that? So my question this morning for you is that, have you— are you serving in your local church? In your local church, are you having a space, a particular thing that God has placed on your hand, or the leader of the ministry has placed in your hand? If there's nothing that you're doing in the ministry, you're not in the flow of what God is doing now. Do you understand that if you are not in the center of what God is doing where you are in terms of serving seriously, hallelujah, the last 1 month, the last 3 months, the last 6 months, the last— hallelujah— the last 1 year, you are not serious because your ministry is required. Your ministry is required. God has a need. So we're talking about people that are ready to move in what God is doing on the earth right now, people that are ready to move in the assignment, in what God has called them to do. You have to be available. Availability. God needs availability. Are you available in that department, in that role, that thing that God wants done? When they say clean, are you available? Do you have the ability? A lot of people say, I want the ability, I want, I want to get better, I want to know how to preach before I preach. Hallelujah. God wants your availability before he also wants your ability. So 3 things important here, that for you to fulfill the assignment where God has for you right now, hallelujah, your ability is a requirement, your availability is a requirement, your reliability. Can we trust you, sir? Can we trust you, ma'am? Can we trust you that you're going to be on time, do what needs to be done? Can we trust that you are available, that the priority God has is the top, that is the most important thing? If he says move, you are moving. If he says stop, you're stopping. It's important to fulfill your assignment. You need, hallelujah, availability. You need ability. Are you understanding what I'm saying? Hallelujah. God wants you to serve. This class is about serving seriously. Anybody can serve, but can you serve seriously in the house of God? Now my question is, what's your ability? What's your assignment? And I told you that your assignment is not your gift. Your assignment is a need God has where you are. We talked about that. Are you available for that? Hallelujah! Are you available? Hallelujah! Do you have the ability? If you don't have the ability, are you open enough to be equipped, to be developed, to do what God wants you to do? Is that powerful? Hallelujah! So serving the kingdom is a serious business. And it must be taken seriously. You cannot— if you are not going to be available in the assignment that God has given the local church, you must make sure that somebody takes your place to fulfill that thing. You cannot let it go. Do you understand what I mean? You cannot be— you cannot be asked to open the door and you say, I'm, I'm not available today, and you're not prepared somewhere to open that door. Serving seriously means to be available, to make sure you do what needs to be done. You take care of the Father's business, you take care of what needs to be taken care of. You have no reason not to do it, you have no excuse. If there's a major excuse, there's a replacement, because the purpose of God must continue, the assignment of God must continue. Hallelujah! So serving in the kingdom is very serious. Numbers chapter 11, verse 28. Let's look at that. If as a leader you find people who are not flowing on this level, don't have the ability, hallelujah, or want to be equipped to have the ability, hallelujah, don't want to be equipped to have the ability to serve where they are, they're not serious. God is not moving with them, no matter how anointed they are. If you are in a ministry you are not serving, something is seriously wrong. Let's talk about Joshua. So Joshua 11:28, he said, Joshua son of Nun, who had been Moses' aide since youth, spoke up and said, Moses my Lord, stop them. How long have they been there? Look at the scripture, Numbers 11:28. How long has Joshua been with Moses? It's in the Bible that you just read it. Numbers 11:28. Joshua the son of Nun, who had been Moses' assistant since his youth. Did you get that? Since he was a boy. Did you see that? Are we on the same verse? Are we there? What does the translation say? Mm-hmm. Moses, sir, you must stop them. Joshua had been Moses' helper since Joshua was a boy. Who was a boy? What do you have?
Joshua, the son of Nun.
Mm-hmm. Okay, who has another translation? So Joshua, the son of Nun, Moses' assistant, one of his choice men, answered and said, Moses, my Lord, forbid them. Okay, who has another translation? Mm-hmm. Yes, you can give. Thank you. King James says Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his young men. And Joshua the son of Nun, the assistant of Moses from his youth. From his youth. Do you see that? ESV says from the youth. You get that? Oh, so the, the English Standard Version says that the assistant of Moses from his youth. Now look at how long, how long Joshua had been the attendant of Moses for 40 years before God even gave him the power to move on. Consistent, consistent in the ministry that God has called. Consistent, not changing pastor for 40 years. Do you understand that? Not changing. He's been there when the weather is bad, when the storm came, when the winter came, when hurricane came, when trouble came, since his youth. That's what we're talking about, serving. Not changing things because it's not going well. Hallelujah! My question for you: can you follow for 40 years? And not change your mind, knowing that God is equipping you to serve seriously so he can entrust you. Are you listening to me? For 40 years before he was appointed Jehovah's lead man, he was— and the Bible says, Bible teacher said that he— listen to this— so he took up— so when you say somebody from young age, we're talking about 20, let's say 20, right? Can you look at me? It's from 20, right? So that means Bible says that he took up the mantle when he was 60 years. Can you be a choir leader for 60 years until God changes his— gives you appointment, new appointment? Am I with somebody? Can you be the prayer leader for 40 years until God says it's time for you to move to the next level? Just say this seriously. Can you believe what God is saying and nothing changes what you're doing for God Until God speaks to you through your leader, or God creates an opportunity through this leader that you have. 40 years. It's not about starting and stopping. It's not about starting and stopping. It's not about you liking it or don't like it. Now look at this. Jesus served the father, his father Joseph, for 30 years without a word. About his assignment? Can you serve in the house of God without telling the pastor that you have a call? Can you serve in the ministry that God has put you without telling the pastor you can preach? That's what I'm talking about. Serving seriously is to submit to what God has— what God has placed in your hand in that ministry. And it's not for babes, it's not for people who are inconsistent, unreliable. Serving God means that when you are the leader, you hold that thing until God promotes you. Because see, the problem is that the way you treat God is the way you treat your life. If you are inconsistent with serving God, you will never save your ministry. You will give up when things are not working. Because you've not built stamina, you've not been— you've not built ability. Because until it gets to a time where God wants you to know— many of you don't even know your, your, your, your driving assignment. What that means is that you can pray, what is that? No, that's not the core of your calling. Maybe the core of your calling was to teach, because every season you are, God empowers a particular gift that you have that is required there. Kerekoplam said he's pastor for many years, did not know God not called to be a pastor. Wow! But it's in the years that your ability is exercised, your availability and your reliability, that God begins to bring out the leadership that is in you. Jesus served for 40 years— I mean, for 30 years unknown. No word came out of his mouth. Serving seriously We're talking about serving. Now look at me, look at me everybody. I want you to think about this. If you have your only son and you give up that only son to die for the whole world— now look at this, this scenario— and you go to heaven and you give the keyboard assignment to Mommy and you tell Mommy, occupy till I come, hold on the baton, make sure not the songs is being played. And Mommy comes every day, Mommy comes to church every day and says, I'm so tired, I'm so weak. And every day she complains. Tell me what happens. You're playing with the things of God. Serving seriously means that the last 6 months, if you don't have a department in your church where you are serving, you are not serious. The last 3 months, if in the ministry you are, you don't have something you are doing for God that God will trust you, that when you wake up God says it's going to be done, you're playing. God must— God is looking at you. To hold something that will connect the kingdom to where it needs to go. Remember Moses and Joshua and, uh, that lifted up the hand of Moses? Maybe yours was just to lift the man of God, just to speak, just to make sure there's water, just to make sure consistent. You have to be reliable. How many of you have had a cell phone that never was reliable? How many of you use a cell phone that, that never was reliable? I mean, before, right, where you have to tip the phone and get the angle of the, of the signal, right? How do you feel when in the middle of the talk, as you see those cuts and you're trying to dial? Okay, it happens now on WhatsApp, right? You dial WhatsApp, dial, dial, dial, dial, it's not going through. How many of you know at that moment you are not happy? That's what it is, because the signal that God has put in on earth, right that moment you dropped it. So your availability Is key. Are you hearing me? Your ability is key. I ask you one more time, if you've not served in the ministry where you are, you're not in what God is doing. The last 1 month, the last 3 months, the last 6 months, you're not doing— you're not— you're playing. God wants you to come to maturity. Where he can trust you, come to maturity, where he can empower you, come to maturity. Hallelujah! Now look at this, for 40 years. Now look at what does it mean, what does it mean to be serving seriously? Let's define it, let's define it, let's define serving seriously, let's define it. Serving seriously is coming to your leader and saying— look at me— serving seriously in the house where you are is to come to your leader and say, listen, there's no keyboard here, Keyboard is here. Can you— can the church help me to help me go to have, uh, go to do keyboard training to learn how to play keyboard? Because that keyboard in the house of God must be played. What does it mean to serve seriously? Is to get involved and say, Prophet, oh man of God, I need to be equipped to learn how to play that drum since I've been coming to the church. What is the requirement? What do I need? Where can I get training to play the, to play the, the drum? Serving seriously, serving unseriously, not used to come here and look at the keyboard every day and nothing is happening. You go back home the same way. And God is saying, I need a keyboard to be played. I need keyboard to be played. And you said, Prophet, I don't have the ability to play the keyboard, but can the church empower and improve my ability to play the keyboard? Because when we play the keyboard, the power of God flows. So I want to be the replacement to serve in anything that is missing. Serving seriously means they say, I want to— Prophet, I, I need— we need a real, a real, a real worshipper. Can you help me train? I want to go to worship class, worship training, to learn how to sing before the Lord. I don't have the money, but can the church help me so that I can be equipped and become an instrument in the house, that God can rely on me, that my voice is prepared and ready to sing? That is to serve seriously. To serve seriously means Serving seriously means, you know, I like music. I think I have the bit of sound of music. I know who's not singing well and who is singing well. So I want to be equipped. Can I be trained? Can my ability improve? Can I take weekend classes? Can I just do something? Hallelujah! To be able to show that I become the direct manager, become the, the, the, the music director, to be able to get people to sing. I want to be equipped seriously to be able to manage the people. See, to serve seriously means that, you know what, I want to learn now how to be a money magnet. I want you to train us how to, how to learn, how to do, how to, how to, um, how to get grant money for the work of the Lord. Hallelujah! I want to be a grant writer, but I don't have the money because I know the church needs new chairs. These chairs were tired of it, but I want to be equipped. I think I want to go on it for the long run. I want to be on it for the long, long run like Moses for 40 years. So please, ministers, help me. I'm excited about money. I like numbers. I want to be equipped to be a grant brighter, so the house of God can have the opportunity and the money that is needed to run the kingdom. I want to be equipped, hallelujah, to be an expert, hallelujah. Are you listening to me? In nonprofit— what is it? What is nonprofit? That is what serving seriously means, to look for a department and own it and improve your ability, improve your availability, and improve your reliability for God to use you to do, to meet a need that is Amen. But serving seriously is not coming to church every day. I, I'm aware, I'm totally aware that not everybody want to be used of God. I'm totally aware some people are comfortable where they are, but I'm talking about people who see a better, a better thing with their life. Can I have an amen? Because what God needs here. He needs it to be done seriously. For 40 years, Joshua— if you read Exodus chapter 33, verse 11— for 40 years, Joshua was Moses's faithful discipleship— disciple. He was faithful. A lot of time people want God to use them without first showing that they are serious. A lot of people want God to empower them. I was praying for somebody recently and the person was saying, oh God, if God blesses me, I'm going to bless my church. How many of you have heard that before? Well, how many of you have— how many of you know that if God blesses you, you bless the church? Shout an amen. You know that's not true, right? How many of you know that's not true? If God blesses you, you bless yourself first before you can bless the church. How many of you know that's true? He said, you know, how do you— how do I know? Because where a man's treasure is, that's where his heart is. If your heart is in serving God, you would have taken a department that you'd have worked for God seriously. Then God knows that your heart is in there without you even getting the money. You are bringing your $1, you are praying, and you are touching people's lives. So he knows that you don't have a problem giving him. But many times people say, if God gives me— he won't give us because he knows that we are not We don't— that's not where our hearts are. And truly, where our hearts are is where the bills we have to pay. Hello, how many of you know that if you get— somebody said, if I get the Loru, I'm just going to give church half. How many of you know that's unscriptural? What if God says give all? What if God says give all? Hello? Are you going to be able to give up? Because you just said— you just shared it, you shared the package in half and say, God, I'll take half. What if he said that gift I gave you, that money you were given— how many of you have been giving money and you just hear, give it to your— give it to God, give it to God? How many of you know you say, devil, you're a liar, you lying devil, you tell me to give my money out when you know I have some AT&T bills to pay, right? Or how many of you know when God tells you, um, Sister Mummy, get up, pray, pray, We say, man, I don't think it's today. I'm really, really tired. I just came out from work. I'm really exhausted. How many of you are like that? God tells me to wake up in the morning, I'm so exhausted. But when you serve seriously, you know that that prayer can be saving someone in China. That prayer can be saving somebody in Switzerland, right? That means— that's what it means to be serious with the things of God. Hallelujah! A lot of time many people want God to first use them before they serve. Or you find people who come to church and say, Prophet, I know how to preach, I have a special anointing for teaching. I had a brother tell me this not too long ago. He said, Prophet, I prophesy like you, but mine is different. I have a special anointing to lay hands on the sick. When I pray for people, their place scatters. In my mind, I just said, all right, yeah, right, I know, right, I know, right, right, right. That's not what God is looking for. God is looking for people that will say, hey, I think, Prophet, there's a need here, there's a need here. I can deal with the children's church. What do I need to deal with the children's church? I see a need here. Hallelujah! Are you listening to me? What serving seriously means, that God is going to show you a need, that you come and say, man of God, this is what I, I think God is telling me. He confirms. So without serving God seriously, you cannot access what God has for you You can— you can never be an asset to God. God has something for you. God has something for you. He has something for you. He says, seek first the kingdom and every other thing shall be added unto you. Not seek some things. That breakthrough— what is holding the breakthrough is because you're not serious. Hello, what is holding your growth is because there's nothing you're holding in the hand of God. Let me ask a question. So if you hold the hand of— let's assume if you hold the light for God, do you think the devil can strike you down? No, because God knows that he will keep you. That's what happened to— I mean, I remember the man who prayed. What's his name again? Who prayed for God to give him more 15 years? Hezekiah prayed, even though at the end of it he messed up, but he prayed. He said, God, remember the things I've done for you? What can God remember you did? What is the thing that you are serving so seriously? Hallelujah! Serving God gives you access to what God has for you, what God has for me, for you. But God needs to know that your ability is in the kingdom because you were created for the purpose that God has. Having— working seriously, serving seriously also means that you're an asset to God. Many times we close the door of promotion because we're unserious. Look at this. How many of you— some of you serve, some of you serve. I'm sorry, I'm going to just be using your name because when I turn around I just see your face, so I'm going to just say, but I'm not literally saying you are the one. Do you understand what I mean, right? Hallelujah. So Mommy comes in here, she's cleaning the church, she's serving. She's not serving seriously, but she's serving. She serves only when Pastor Vivian is around. We used to have the choir. I never forget, that was a funny one. Every time they come here, they were so— years ago, years ago, like 2 years ago, they were so brilliant. Whenever I'm there, they are singing hallelujah in tune. So one day I came here, they didn't know I was coming. You could see them on their phone shouting at each other, 'I don't like that song.' There was a particular song they were singing. One of the ladies said, 'I can't sing this song.' She had not even tried the song, but she didn't know I was behind. 'I can't sing this song.' She was shouting, 'I can't sing this song.' This person will say, 'I'm tired of waiting.' He's gonna say, 'You're wasting my time.' So much confusion. When I walk in, she just picked up the song, hallelujah. That's a good song. Serving seriously is pretending like you're doing something because somebody higher than you— it's like when you see your boss, before your boss comes, you're on the phone texting. Once your boss comes, you begin to check the computer. How many of you know what I mean, right? You start checking, checking, checking, checking. Wow, like you stand up and put your hand on your shoulder like this is really a serious puzzle. That's not serving God seriously, you know what I mean, right? So serving God seriously means that you are into it and there's nothing that can get you out of it. And that's when— that's how God picks people, that's how God empowers people. Some of you just come when they say serve God seriously, that's where you come and say Mummy comes and say, Mummy, I told you already. Mummy come and say, you know what, I was an evangelist in my former life, no, my former church, my church life. And years ago, years ago, when we started this church, I had a sister, she was an expert in evangelism, expert. So we had meetings in the room there and she would give me the ex— the expert opinion of evangelism. But you know the problem? She doesn't like evangelism, but she's an expert. She will tell you all the stuff. You have to go to Walmart, go to H-E-B, share the flyer. And when you share the flyer, you read the script. Then one day I said to her, Sister, you have so much passion for this evangelism. She said, no, I don't. I just know how it works. Some people, when you're in a department, they want to tell you everything Mummy, you have to sing this way. They have— they can't sing, but they are controlling the way you sing. When you come, most— Jesus never said a word for 30 years. He was serving. Your ear is the vehicle when you serve, not your mouth. Just serve, just serve. How many of you know people that when there are so many problems, they start complaining? Ah, ah, ah, this thing is so— they've not even started, they start bringing problems. Different problems. How the mic— why, why the mic is high, that one is low, that one is high, that one is low. Hallelujah! Different issues. Why? Because they're not taking things seriously. When you're taking things seriously, you know that the reason why you're there is to please God and to do what God has called you to do, to be reliable, to be available with your ability. Jesus never spoke a word. Joseph never spoke a word until the leadership process was over. It's like now today we have the Resurrection, um, class. Reminds me of the one we had when we were in California. Some people came with the Oxford Dictionary, some came with the Greek Methodological Dictionary. Huge class, huge translation to preach for 10 minutes. And when they do, they don't even study. They see the Greek word for go is optomotic. They go to Greek, they go to— I mean, the man of God just said, come and share. You start bringing all your eschatologies and your Greek and your tonation and your syntax and semantics. They just said to you, share with the people. You come with a big Bible. So am I talking to somebody? You just put on the pulpit, and when people see, they say, wow, Pastor Mami is a powerful preacher. That is in the Am I— you know what I'm saying now? They just said, come and share. She came in with all the Bible and came with a new gown, with a new dress, just came in. And, and I will have to call Sister Mummy, woman of God. She comes in and looks— and when she's preaching, she's preaching like, that's not what was said. They said, just come and empower the people. Speak the word. Don't come and show what you have or what you don't have. You bring the special dress that is for that you've been keeping in your house. Did they ever tell you to preach here? This is the dress, the combination that I wear. You come with your talit and everything, cover your face. That's not what he said. You are not serving, you're exposing yourself. You want to be known. Am I talking to— I mean, if you get what I'm saying. When they say preach today, they say share something. Today you see somebody say, share, Mommy, you come with a book. This is what happened to me, it is called Getting Out and Getting In. That's not what he said. Serving seriously is to find what God wants done right that moment. It has nothing to do with you. A lady was preaching a couple of weeks ago and I was watching her on TV. She was actually, she was singing, she was singing, she sang, sang, sang, sang so much. Meanwhile, after she's singing, the pastor said, sister, you took off the whole, uh, the whole time. And as she sang, her hair almost fell out. Am I listening to somebody right? You know what I'm saying now? So why come to church to serve when you know your hair is going to disturb you? So when she sang and you could see the hair coming out, she grabbed the hair, say, yeah, I'm trying to preach. That's not, that's not serving. Servant means to give yourself wholly as an instrument in the hand of God. It's part of what you are, what you're wearing, is to serve somebody, is to serve somebody so they can see God through you. Moses knew exactly the time to leave. When Moses died— listen, this is so powerful— how many of you Notice that when Moses died, Joshua didn't ask God any question. God, you said take the Israelites to the promised land. Which route are we going to go? How am I going to talk to the people? No, he already knew what to do because he was working with Moses, right? Right. Some of you, if you get to this door now and you can't open the door, you just start getting mad. You don't even know how the door works. Some of you in this place don't even know how the light comes on. But if there's no light, you start complaining, why is this place so dark? Why is this place so dark? Why is the music so low? How many of you would— when they play songs here, how many of you enjoy the music? Shout amen! Can you play the music so that people else can enjoy? Do you know how to play the equipment? Equipment, you have to turn on the equipment. Hello? When you come early, what do you do? Just walk around, walk around, walk around. You don't even play the music because you can't turn it on. Serving seriously means you know what God needs done. Serving seriously sometimes requires you to move into places that you don't have the ability, into situations where you have to learn You have to learn. How many of you say I can't sing? How many of you say I can't sing? Lift up your hand. How many of you know I can't sing? Good. But you like it. How many of you like music but you can't sing? That's not true. You can sing because when the music comes on, you sing when you're there. How many of you say I can't sing but I love music? Is that right? Right, right. Lift up your hand. You can see you love music. You can— you don't know how to sing, but you love music. But when the music is on, you are singing. So who's— who is confused now? Did God tell you that you have to be a first-class singer? He said, shout, sing unto the Lord. He didn't say Good voices sing unto the Lord. If your voice is not good, use that good voice that is not good and sing. That is serving God. How many of you, how many of you, how many of you can dance but don't know how to dance in public? Hello? I'm not going to call anybody's name for the case, for the case of something, but last night My dear Pastor Vivian was dancing, heavy dancing, and I was thinking, sister, when we come to church, let's give us some of this dance. There is dance before the— how many of you know you can dance at home and when you come to church you pretend? You just do this. Am I talking to somebody, right? But at home you are just going, going, but in church— and God said Save me with your dance. I don't like— Makinda is there, I don't like the way she's looking at me because I'm dancing old school. That's not what it is. God says you use your ability to serve God. Maybe that dance would have encouraged somebody who was depressed at that moment, but you kept it. We used to have a choir. I won't call the name of the person, peoples, persons, or peoples and individuals. They were part of the choir group until I asked them, ah, what kind of voice are you singing? That was the day we lost that choir member. I'm still trying to get the person back on choir, but it's impossible because I asked a question I didn't know. I lacked the knowledge at that time. I would have said, that was a powerful voice, but I discouraged the person. Hallelujah! Don't let anybody discourage you when it comes to serving God, serving what God has called you to do, because there is a reward assigned to that service. So last thing I want you to write is that serving God will move you into places A sister in Florida— listen to me— a sister in Florida, or sister in Atlanta, she says, Prophet, I love your ministry. I want to— I love your ministry. I want to really be part of it, but when are you coming to Atlanta? I said to her, you're not ready to serve. When you're ready to serve, you will follow. Jesus Christ said, follow me, I will make you I did not hear you. He didn't say call me on the way so we get there and we arrive. He said follow me. You must follow Moses. Hallelujah. And let's, let's say this quickly. You know what we call church now is really, really not church. It's our own thing. In those days, once, once there's a place where God is moving, everybody begins to move their whole house towards that direction because that's where they are serving, that's where they had their, their party, that's where they had their convention. That's where they drank together. That's where they were excited. But right now, because we live so far, you begin to think, ah, they say we're cleaning tomorrow. It's really, really far. How many of you that come from afar, how many of you know it's really far? Really, how many of you be rude but know that your distance sometimes is really far? Because when you are on the way, some people are cutting road. They just enter from the church and they get into their bedroom, but you are still driving hours, 30 minutes, 40 minutes. How many of you know sometimes it's exhausting? Can we be real? How many of you know it's exhausting? It does for me. Sometimes when I want to come to church, ah no, I can't do it this morning, I can't, I can't do it this morning, Pastor Hesed Ojieh. Can we skip the Sunday service and make it Saturday because I'm really tired today? But God expects you that your service can move you from where you are to get closer to what God has called you to do.
Do.
There's no convenience in what God has called you to do. Oh, it's too far, you're afraid to move. What if God sends you— what if God sends you to Japan and you get there, you can't speak English? What about the missionaries that traveled far? People cannot even drive 1 hour now to go and do what God has— to go and fulfill an assignment for God. But then how can God— they begin to say, I'm called to nations, God has called me to Philippines, called me to Asia, called me to Malaysia, called me to Singapore, called me to Congo, called me to Cairo, called me to Cameroon, called me to Cape Town, called me to Cape Man Island. No, girl, Well, calm down. The one he called you from one hour from your place to this place, you are not serious about it. Serving means you must move sometimes because that thing depends on your future. Now think about it. If somebody had told you to be serious with your singing when you were 20, knowing that when you are 60 that anointing will still be on you. Serving also means that it's a time for you to learn. Not just to move, to learn. You know the problem with the church? Quickly listen to me. The problem sometimes with the church is that— listen everybody— is that we want to use what we know to serve God. But God is saying, what you know is not important. I want to teach you what I need you to know to serve me. Hallelujah. It's like me. How many of you have tried to remove a tire before without calling AAA? Your front tire, your back tire. How many of you want to change a spare tire? Wow, okay. How many of you know how to open a trunk? Thank you. How many of you know how to open a trunk? Let me hear yes. What if the trunk is jammed? I bought a car, the trunk, I could just touch the button, bam bam bam, the trunk comes up, say yes sir, until the battery died and doors were locked. I knew that opening trunks are in levels. Did you hear what I just said? When your car— if you have these new cars, when it goes down, the whole system shuts down. You can't get in. Especially if the remote control battery is out or the car battery is out, you can't. You will do every single thing. Some of you don't even know what to do. You don't even know what to do when the battery of the remote control battery is bad and the car battery is bad. Some of you start crying, start calling all your uncles who you have not said hello to for the last 20 years. Not knowing that there is this extra key in there that you just pull out and open the door. Oh, okay, so if you just found out, you know why? Because you've not gone through that, that time where you're about— so you've always used your key. Hallelujah! So God wants you to learn. For God to use you, to be serious, you have to be open to be— to learn. There are things you need to learn right now: how to sing, how to play keyboard, how to worship, You say, but I don't have the time. What about if you cut off the Netflix time, cut off the social media time, and spend 30 minutes to learn how to be a— so a lady said to me, God has called me to be a multi-millionaire. I say, you bet. He said, why did you say so? I said, because look at your church. Your church is struggling to pay their bills, and you are struggling. So you are struggling harder than your church to give. So who's, who's at fault? She says, the church. I said, no, it's you. If you had improved your skill to know how to get grants, know how to raise money, put know how to negotiate deals, you will be blessed and your ministry will be blessed. Sometimes people don't want to learn. They are so comfortable with where they are, they don't want to improve their skills. Hallelujah! How can in 2022 you don't know how to open a computer, or don't know the difference between a Word document and a PDF? Or in 2022, God has called you to be a millionaire but you don't know how to use a Google spreadsheet or Google. Am I talking to somebody? Hello? Someone say, oh, I don't want to be on YouTube. Somebody told me that day, ah, Prophet, how do they use this thing called Facebook? I said, don't call me again, girl. Say, how many of them do that? They forget their password, keep changing the password, keep changing the password. You're wondering, in 2022? There, but you say God has called you to be on media, on social media, but you cannot log in. You have to be open to learn, to improve your skill, and be sharp in what God wants you to do and be the best. Lastly, so you have to learn. So you have to sometimes change places. To serve seriously, you might change places, you might change situations. You have to learn, learn, decide, I don't know it, I don't know it. Then you have to grow. You must grow. To be self-serious, you must grow. You can't— hello— you can't face the same challenge every time. This morning I was saying, God, I'm learning. You have to keep learning, learning, learning. Be open to learn, then you get better. I really think it's because Moses failed, that's why Joshua did not fail. Because Moses must have watched Joshua get angry and struck the thing. So Moses said, you know, you know what, guys, you're not going to do to me what you did to Joshua, to Moses. So he learned how to deal with his anger. Hallelujah! So you must learn to grow, then you can go and do what God has called you seriously. So very important, serving seriously means changing places, situation, learning, growing, and it happens 24 hours. Lastly, hallelujah, lastly, serving seriously means following To follow, to follow, to follow. What does it mean to follow? What does it mean to follow? That's a good one. To be led means that I'm following you. Some of us, we follow our leaders, but we're asking questions that will distract the leader from going anywhere. Are you hearing me? Prophet, how did he get here? Prophet will stop and talk to you. He has forgotten where he's going. Then 2 hours later again, you come back again and ask the same question again. There was a sister that was praying for God to prosper her. We cast out the devil, it will go. Next Sunday again, she'll meet me in the office and I'll start casting out the devil. Start talking to the sister, encouraging her, then she will leave. One day again, she came back again. Like, she did that for like 3 months, every Sunday. Prophet, put the oil here. Prophet, put the oil here. Prophet, put the oil here. Prophet, put the oil here. One day I told her, sister, I have a problem now. She said, what's going on, Prophet? I said, I don't know if I'm the one following you or you're the one following me, because every time I come, you're the one telling me what God said. Prophet, God said to me for you to anoint me here, then I anoint you. God said to me for me to anoint you here, then I anoint you. Hallelujah! You understand me? Hallelujah! Am I talking to somebody? Hallelujah! Some of you don't even know. Some of you, some of you don't even know. Can I talk? Some of you don't even know. Some of you are so— not this church, some leaders. All of you are amazing. Some leaders know how to follow the man of God. Bless you, sir. Bless you, sir. But when they see the woman of God, they'll pass. And I told one of the sisters years ago, she said, Prophet, I'm called to be a pastor's wife. I said, you will never be. She said, why? The one that God put for you, that will be real. How many of you know that sometimes you don't like your pastor? How many of you be real sometimes? Can we be real? Hello? Everybody's quiet now. I mean, sometimes pastor can talk to you somehow and you just get feel like, wow, wow, wow, wow. Let me wear my glasses. Everybody here is really serious. Sometimes the way your pastor will respond to you that will make you angry, right? Okay, don't worry about one or two of you said yes in your heart. But for me, there are many times the church member gets me angry.
Pray.
Yes, I'm always— sometimes there's some people I'm consistently unhappy about them. You know why? We take out the demon, they bring it back. We take out the demon, they bring it back. We take out the demon, they bring it back. Take out the demon, they bring it back. And have to repeat the same work all over, all over, all over, all over. And they come back, say, Prophet, can you pray for me? But I told you the last time. Do you think I'm going to be happy? Do you think God has not told me to tell you I know what you're doing? But just keep— keep praying for her, keep praying for her. But inside of me I'm saying, oh Father, help me, help me, this person is really, really, really stubborn, right? But to serve God, I have to learn how to do what God wants me to do without telling you how I feel, right? So the last time you told somebody, I'm going to take a peace of my mind in the thing that God has called you you, you are not qualified. Because we all have angers and issues, but let's take it apart and work seriously with what God has called us to do. Now, this is my last question for you. If you're in this ministry or in any ministry, you are not— you don't have a place you're serving one— within one month of you coming or finish your training, you're not serious. Let me tell you with the picture I saw. Look at me. So God is saying, I need this thing move. Good, right? You come to church, you don't. How many of you look good some days you come to church? Can we be real? How many of you know you really look good? So, but this is what God wants moved. You pass it in the morning, 4-hour service, you pass. But God has been telling you that we need a crate of water, we need something. He's talking to you to serve. You pass it. Then you call Pastor Vivian. Pastor Vivian, does the church really need— you know, Pastor Vivian does not know. God told you what to do, but you're looking for Pastor Vivian to tell you. And if Pastor Vivian doesn't tell you, you say, ah, that's true, that's true, that means it's not needed. No, he told you to change the cloth. It's been red for the last 3 years. That red cloth has been there. He's been telling you to change the cloth. The cloth is $6, $5, but you have passed it every day. Ah, I don't want people to think that I have no— that I'm trying to take over. Yes, take over. We're looking for people that will take Are you hearing me? Am I talking to somebody? That whole booklet has been there like that for years. Some of you, some of you at your house, you arrange— how many of you have, how many of you have the kind of thing that you keep arranging every part of your house? Keep arranging it. How many of you are like that? You change the couch, you change the table, you change the clothes, but you come to church and pretend like you're not— you don't know what you're doing. You just pass. Next Sunday you come back again. Next Sunday you come back again. Next Sunday you come back again. God said that's not serving. Serving means God will reveal to you what is needed. Hallelujah! And you You say, man of God, this is what I'm feeling, and you activate that calling and use it for the purpose of God and not come back here every day and every day and every day and every day. Yes, a couple of months ago, this clock was— this clock, the battery was dead. And I knew some of you saw the clock because when it's time— when I saw— when I'm prophesying, too, a lot of you look at your phone and look at the clock, and you know the clock is wrong, and all you need was a battery, but you pretend like you're not seeing it. Oh, why is the clock not really on? It requires a battery, but you don't want to do it, right? How are you serving? So you must have a place in the ministry that at least one month that you are using your ability to serve. They say we, we, we are distributing the, the children's church, and meanwhile you have children and grandchildren, but you have never come to meet the church. Let me teach the grandchildren Let me be equipped to teach the children's church. Every day you carry your Bible and write, write, write, write, write. You become a professor now with no prophesying. God— there must be a place you are serving at least once a month, at least monthly, or at least within the last 1 month, within the last 3 months, within the last 6 months. Then you are ripe and ready for what God has for you, and your ability me must improve. But what should I do? What am I going to do? What could I— can I do? And I go, what is this? What is— someone asks you, Pastor Bia, what am I— what, what do we need down here? Pastor Bia said we need to clean the church. Oh, that's out of my jurisdiction because I don't clean toilets, or I don't have the time. You begin to change the time. The cleaning time is 6 PM, you want to do 2 AM in the morning just to cause confusion. You are not serious. And you know the problem is that you will grow old and do nothing with your life, not tangible. When you get to heaven, there is no reward. The only reward that God gives you is the reward of you coming to Wealthy Creek. Good, good, that faithful servant. We saw the clothes you wore the whole 3 years you were here, nothing tangible. Some of you have never brought— oh, let me— some of you have never brought one one crate of water. Now if we talk about souls, there's going to be a problem because none of you have brought— some people have not brought souls. They come in and they go out, they come in and they go out, they come in and they go out, they come in and they go out. They've not brought one person, not even their friend, to say, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me help somebody find God. You drive empty every day. Come to a place that you like, come to a place that you're excited about. And Bible says, he that wins a soul is what? Say it well. What? So if you don't win soul, you are— can we say that lastly? He that wins a soul is what? If you don't win a soul, you are what? What's another word for unwise? Foolish. I didn't write it, don't get angry. So when you come to church and not be able to How many of you not be able to call? Even if you can't invite somebody, call somebody. Sister, how are you doing? Are you all right? Or how you— Mommy, how are you doing this week? Some of you don't even have the phone number of your members of your church. What a life! Pastor Vivian, can you give me the number of Tita? I don't know if I still have it. Oh my God! Pastor Vivian, what's that sister that sits on the left with that is tall from the area that is far. Which sister is it? No, no, not me. That one. You don't even know their name and you say you are serving for God. Who's that brother? That brother that married like 2 years ago, we went to the wedding in Sugarland, that the mother is in the church. But what was the guy? The guy that does the equipment. What's his name again? Then what's his number? You don't have his number. You've never called him, but you see yourself, you won't go to to use you. How is it? Oh, this lady that comes here now, that's part of our ministry, the lady that's part of our ministry, how many times have you called her? Some of you say hello, hello, and you leave. How can God use you to serve? Seriously, when there's a soul, you don't even know the day you called her, she was about— she was hungry. Hello! What if the day that you called, that was the day that God wanted you to just connect with her and give her $20? Then you are too full of yourself, serving yourself. I want you to stand up. Father, anywhere that I missed serving you, I repent. Let me hear you. Father, everywhere that I've missed serving you, I repent. In the name of Jesus, I pray by the power of the Holy Ghost, I want to serve you seriously. Let me hear you. I want to live the rest of my life serving you by the power of the Holy Ghost. I want to serve you right where you are. If you are going to serve God seriously, lift up your hand and begin to talk to God that the last one year, the last 6 months is over. The next one year will be your greatest year, your greatest year. Your husband, your wife, your children will not stop you from doing what God wants you to do. Open your mouth and talk to the Lord. This is your moment. There is a move of God upon the face of the earth, and you want to be part of it. In Jesus' mighty name I pray. Walk up to 5 people and tell them, this is your greatest time to serve seriously. Find a place, find a place the next few days. Hallelujah! In Jesus' name.
