Hi guys. It's lovely. Happy Love Week. A lot of people, especially people who don't live inside of Charlotte, signed up. They got this box and you got this cute little bandana as you see Abby wearing. You got your official 2021Love wheat t shirt and some gardening gloves. And then you also got this cookie mix which unsupervised Abby opened so we have to be careful not to spill ours. But she said she thought it was cookie dough and she was going to taste some. So the idea behind us giving you a packet of cookies is so that you can make some cookies.
Take them to your local fire department.
Yeah, first responders. Your local first responders. You could take it to a school that's getting ready for back to school, some teachers. You could take it to somebody who's not feeling well or has lost a loved one and just write them a note. Love Week is all about reaching out to your community and sharing the love of Jesus. And so what we thought we would do is we are going to make these cookies later and add them to our basket. But we have a friend who her father in law is really sick in the hospital and they're also in the middle of a move. So we thought that we would make an easy chicken soup to go with the cookies as just something to show our love to our friend. This week. One of the things that I like to do when I'm taking someone a meal is, is make that meal for my family and sometimes I'll make it earlier in the day or we'll make it for our family for that night and then I'll make extra and then take it to the person.
Let us know in the comments if you want to have another video where it's just cooking with Abby and there's obviously adult supervision, but I'm doing the recipe.
Alright. So what we have is we have some chicken broth, macaroni, cauliflower rice, We've got some sal celery and some carrots. The reason we use chicken broth is because I don't really like cooking raw chicken. And so I will buy rotisserie chicken. Abby usually helps me pull it off the bone.
I, I feel it and you put it and you chop it up.
Yesterday when you peeled it you got lazy. You did one really good and the other one had like so much meat left. Okay, we've got some rotisserie chicken that we pulled yesterday. That is what we're gonna start with. We're gonna do some garlic, some salt and pepper and I don't know, whatever else we can think of to throw in our chicken soup, but those are the main ingredients. I threw this in here because if you want to add some bread. This is so cheap and it's so good. Bought some store bought bread that we're gonna stick in our basket. So I'll show you the basket at the end. First thing we're gonna do is we are going to wash our hands and we are not going to use gardening gloves. And we're going to chop up our carrots and our celery.
The last time we made cookies, we made them for our local fire department. We made.
Wait, pause because the sound is gonna be.
We made so much of it. And there was like 70 cookies that we had to roll into balls. Yes.
And we got tired.
How do I do this? Did I, like, peel it off and then I cut it?
I'm going to.
I don't like that make.
I don't like to put too much celery in. Now we're gonna cut off the tops. I'm gonna let you cut one, and then I'm gonna cut the rest. You want to cut it as small as possible. The soup's gonna take forever at this speed.
What?
I just feel like you can't never have enough garlic. Oh, Abby, Abby. You're gonna cut your thumb off.
That would be cool.
Just drop the garlic in the trash. Yes. Everything's gonna be. You ever feel like a rabbit when you're eating carrots?
Sometimes.
In our pan, we have carrots, celery, and garlic. Our family doesn't eat onions. Some of the people in our family.
And Daddy. I'm sorry, I should not be the one blamed for this. Daddy also does not eat onions.
So it's daddy's fault that you don't like onions?
Yes.
So we're gonna add some avocado oil. We're gonna heat this up and let it cook down. And then I'm gonna add some of my spices. We're back. We're gonna get some avocado oil. Now if you're only making soup, chicken soup, and you want to put noodles in the whole thing, you could just boil your noodles in at the end. But because we have a lot of.
People, we have people in our family.
Who don't eat noodles as well. We're gonna boil our noodles separate in this one. We're gonna add some salt, shakes of pepper. Now, I am liberal with the onion powder because again, nobody eats onions in my house.
So.
No, just. It's not that much.
It's like, that's a lot.
It's like a tablespoon at most. Maybe we just lifted. Oh, maybe we just lifted the air. Nope. We're waiting for this to boil. Abby's going to make up our chocolate chip cookie dough mix since she's been over here eating it. How's it going, Abs? Making our cookie dough?
You have no idea how much power it takes in these days and not just take a lick.
Would you rather have warm chocolate chip cookies or fresh chocolate chip cookie dough?
Fresh chocolate chip cookie dough.
Really?
Yeah.
All right, tell us in the chat, would you rather have cookie dough or warm chocolate chip cookies? I vote warm chocolate chip cookies. Time to go back to our soup.
Ooh.
I'm just gonna add a little bit of water to our soup now. I'm gonna go ahead and add our cauliflower in. Our carrots are pretty soft. Our celery is getting there.
It looks delicious.
All right, so our soup is officially finished. Here we go. Yum. After dinner, Abby and I are gonna make the cookies, which we're gonna made the dough. So we're gonna cook the cookies. We're gonna make up that basket. All right, guys, so we're back, and we're throwing together our basket. Here's our awesome jar of soup right here.
Very pretty.
And then we have a loaf of. Let me hold the camera.
Okay.
Okay. So we've got loaf of bread. This. I. We just had these topo chicos in our pantry, so we grabbed those. This is a cute little bird tea towel. Here's a candle that I had. We got a bag of peaches. My friend loves to read, so I threw in a book that I had already read. This summer, cookies are going to go down here in the bottom. I'm about to tie this bow on, and we'll show you our final. All right, dinner is over. Abby and I went outside. We cut some hydrangeas from our limelight hydrangeas bushes, and it's very extra. She's is this. But here's our final product.
Happy love week.
