Graham. Graham picked my team. That's why I lost. Don't talk to me. Don't tell me how to play this game. Now that was bad.
Hello. Hello.
Hi, everybody. Does Elijah have the best lunches of anybody?
Oh, for sure. Lunch game on fat lunch game on fleek, huh?
Chick fil a, when you don't pack away. You know what? There are a lot of people in here who would like to eat that food. So if you're gonn go eat Chick fil a, just I put it in the fridge and I eat it the next. Josiah, is this someone's actual. Did you learn how to play Tetra song?
I started on the Game Boy.
This kind or was yours a color?
Mine was a Game Boy color.
Okay, this. This is. Give me the screen. Give me the screen protector. I was in fifth grade, 1990. It was about when these came out.
I was born a year later.
Wait, you were born in 81.
91.
I was playing this game before you were born. Literally before I was born literally before you.
That's crazy.
Okay, but this is how this started. I have a book club and I'm.
A big fan of the book club.
Big fan of the book club. But you're like a secret fan of the book club. And you don't read the books, though.
Not all the time.
Oh, some of them you do. What's one book you read?
You put me on the spot here. I'm like, ah, there was one you read. There's one you guys read. And I'm like, I read that before.
Okay.
I know about this book.
So now you come on just to. Just to watch the interview and be in the chat.
I enjoy the fellowship.
And then this good fellowship. It's a great book club. So then I mentioned Tetris.
Yes. And you said something along the lines of, I'm the best ever king of the world. Something like that.
And then I challenge you to Tetris. Sure. I think we have a clip of it. Will Wilson says he had a red Game Boy. I was an elite Tetris player. Probably still am. Will Wilson, I could beat you in Tetris. Yes. That's a challenge. But this is not the first time you have challenged a furtick in video games.
All right, man. What did you play, Graham in NBA 2K21. I think I would say I let him win.
Okay, so here we actually just got a clip of you and Graham playing. Here we go.
There's the pass to Lavert gets it to go from beyond. Beyond. I'm trying to be a Good sport. And shake his hand. Look at the veins popping out of his neck.
I like to listen to my audiobook and play Candy Crush. And I like Candy Crush because different from Tetris, it's not timed right now I am on level 4716 and I actually. Guys, I can't even believe I'm confessing this. And I'm not promising this is going to make the video. I got an email from Candy Crush when I crossed over 4,500. You know that there are like a billion people who play Candy Crush? They said, congratulations, you are in the top 3% of Candy Crush. Mini Crush. And I was like, I don't know if I should.
Is that a celebration or.
I think I should be embarrassed about that.
Had I known that, uh huh.
You might not have challenged, I might.
Not have said, yeah. I might not have put myself in this situation. But here we are.
Okay.
Level zero for present.
Start level zero. Ready, set, go.
It's the real deal.
All right. I really don't want to lose to you.
Who would be most disappointed if you lost?
Really? Steven Furtick, don't you think?
You think so?
Think he'd be ashamed of me?
I'm worried about my sons. Every day I come home, we started doing this thing. Actually I got this from a terminal pastor. He was talking about like I always come up with new ways to ask my kid, but. So we started this thing in our house where we said, what's your favorite part of the day?
Okay.
Trying to get out of it. Like yes and no questions. Was school good? Yes. Behaviors of.
Can we. How old are your kids?
Was that a question to distract me from the game or.
No, Genuinely, I want to know.
Hold on. I got an opportunity. I'm going to be shooting this video. Going to be playing Pastor Holly in Tetris and my son. The trip was Daddy, please don't lose.
I definitely recommend Candy Crush over the phone version.
Can you play other people in Candy Crush?
Kind of. But I keep my name kind of weird cuz.
Well, you're Holly.
For going a lot faster than me.
I am, yeah.
You have 2030 and I have 21. I gotta pick up my pace.
You're doing great.
Wait, do you remember Blockbuster?
I absolutely remember Blockbuster.
Do you remember going on Friday night to pick out a movie?
Yes.
That's funny. That's a core memory of mine. Even when Steven and I were married, there was a Blockbuster right down the street from here. So we used to live down, down the street here. Past that McDonald's and there was a Blockbuster in that shopping center where the McDonald's is. Oh, no, across the street where the Applebee's is. And we would go. And if you were watching a TV series like we were watching 24. You remember that show, Great show with Kiefer Sullivan. You'd get like, certain amount of episodes at a time on one. Well, dvd.
Okay.
I do remember renting VHS tapes as well, which that probably is not in your memory, but it was.
I was young. I just remember my dad, like, rushing back after church and stuff like that to avoid late tapes.
Oh, here comes the Tetris, guys. Boom.
That looked really cool.
It was. It was. It was very satisfying. But you're a whole level ahead of me. Not great.
I don't love any of this right now, you know? Did you just look at my screen?
I did. This will be good. You, out. Should I keep playing? Should I keep playing, guys?
Yeah, you gotta get to 53 lines.
Oh, okay.
I got 53 lines and 21,000 points. I cannot believe that. I don't like this at all.
Hey, guys, be nice to your dad. He lost, but it's okay.
I cannot believe this.
We can't win at everything. Some people are just better at certain things than others.
Thirteen lines away from some people are just 11 lines.
Some people are old, and old people are good at some things.
I'm interested in the score, though, because.
I'm like, I wonder if I could get all four of these lines at one time.
Do you feel more pressure now that I'm just sitting here watching you?
A little bit. Okay, see, I gave up on waiting for the stick. Here we go.
You're two lines away.
Okay, here we go. Oh, that's just one.
Your next line does it.
All right, here it is.
Here it is, man. My score's still higher, though.
You know how. What's your score?
21,000. You're about 7,000 points.
So you. You must have gotten more. More tetrises than I did.
Bang it.
I mean, I can keep going until I get to your score, because then he'll say, oh, well, Graham. Graham picked my team. Graham. Graham picked my team. That's why I lost.
Exactly. What happened?
Oh, now, now that was bad.
Interesting decision right there.
Ah, now I'm done. You're talking to me.
Well, we're here to fellowship. We're here for a good old fashioned football fellowship.
Am I close to his points?
Yes.
Oh, oh, oh. Okay, I can do this.
You got to make the right. These next couple decisions have to be perfect.
Oh, I can't do it. Oh, that's it.
Oh, interesting.
I got to level seven, you got to level five.
Five. You beat me by a good 22 lines. This. My score is higher.
Huh?
You won.
I think I'm still the winner.
Yeah, you win for sure. My score is just higher. That's all.
Right. Well, do I get balloons or confetti or something? And you go. The scream. The old lady wins. The old lady wins.
Can't wait.
See you on book club.
