If God Was Like Doordash | Holly Furtick

A short sermon by Holly Furtick using a Doordash delivery-tracker metaphor to illustrate how faith differs from constant visibility into God's actions. Furtick argues that if believers could 'track' God's progress they'd focus on problems instead of God's power, and exhorts listeners to fix their focus on God's character (citing Jehovah Jireh, provider) and past faithfulness rather than immediate circumstances.

Wouldn't it be awesome if God was like, doordash? Do I have any doordash lovers here tonight? Okay, this is not a sponsored ad. I really should be sponsored for this, but Doordash, it's changed my life. If you don't feel like cooking dinner, you don't feel like packing your lunch at the office, all you have to do is go on this amazing app and you select the restaurant that you want. You can select the healthy level of the food that's going to be delivered to you or the quality. You can pick anything from McDonald's to Morton's. But you know what the best thing about Doordash is? The tracker. Don't act like you don't use that tracker. Once you place your order, you can literally watch your door dasher's location. You can see, oh, they're preparing my order right now. My door dasher is there. He's picking it up. Oh, he's on his way. You know, you can watch the little red car as it makes its way to you. They just turn into my neighborhood, and it's so exciting, right? Wouldn't it be awesome if God was like that? Like, if we could go on the Heaven app and we could select the things that we need. Like, lord, I need wisdom and how to handle this situation today. And, God, I need help in this relationship. And while I'm checking off a few things, Lord, I mean, it'd be really nice if I could have a new job that pays better. And then wouldn't it be amazing if we could track God's progress? We could see he's preparing my order. Like, okay, are there any single ladies in the house tonight? Don't be shy. All the way up at the top. Don't be. There's some single men here tonight, so make yourself known. All right, so if you're single and you're believing God for a man, wouldn't it be awesome if you could track God's progress? You could see, oh, he lives in Orlando, but he just got a job transfer and he's moving to Sacramento next month. Faith would be so much easier if we could track God. But that's not how God works. That's not how faith works. It wouldn't be faith. And I think that the reason God doesn't allow us to track his progress is because if we could do that, it would keep us focused on how big our problem is instead of how big our God is. And when you can't see how God is working and you start to worry about all the things that could go. That could go wrong if he doesn't come through. What you've got to do, what I'm learning to do in my life, is to fix my focus on who God is, not on what I want him to do for me, but who he is. I have to take my mind off of my situation and remember that the God that I serve is Jehovah Jireh. He's my provider. He's come through for me in the past. Amen. Has he come through for you in the past? And he's not gonna let you down now. He's not a God who sits up in heaven and watches from afar as the events of our lives unfold. He is a God who is close and present. He's a God who is enough for whatever you are facing.
