Starbucks Egg Bites | Cooking with Holly

A casual home-cooking vlog in which Holly (with Ken and Abby) attempts to recreate Starbucks’ sous-vide egg bites using an oven and silicone molds. The video walks through ingredients (eggs, cottage cheese, spices, bacon, and a blend of cheeses), the blending and filling process, baking with a target internal temperature, and a tasting where the hosts report the results were too soft and inconsistently cooked. The tone is informal, trial-and-error, and conversational with a final verdict that the batch was disappointing.

Wash your hands. We have the good stuff too, but we like the butter flavored one. I wonder why that one is flashing like that. What's up, guys? Happy Sunday. It's Sunday on the day that we're recording this, and tonight we are going to make attempt. This is not necessarily a how to recipe. This is a Ken, Holly, and Abby pull this off type of recipe. And what we're going to try to make are the Starbucks sous vide egg bites in the oven. I do have a sous vide. Sous vide. Sous vide. Sous vide thing. I do have one. And don't comment below if you love yours. I find it to be a. A big hassle. What you're going to need. Try not to record a video making all kinds of noise. What you're going to need is you need a silicone egg mold. Fill up your dish. That was a little bit too much. Halfway with water. And the most important thing the recipe says is that you preheat your water. You want to get the water hot with your oven. He's eating his feet right now. So now we are going to get out all the ingred. Uh oh. Why is it on? Like I didn't sit running Special mess doing that special. Don't bite my nose. Salt, pepper, bacon, which I already had some leftovers. That was cooked cottage cheese. We need eggs and we need salt, pepper, garlic powder, pinch of cayenne cheese. Now calls for a half a cup of Monterey Jack and a half a cup of shredded gyuri. Is that how you say that? Gyuri? I bought gouda. I just remembered I was looking for a cheese to start with G. So I got goud and I couldn't find plain gouda, so I got this one that's like sharp cheddar, gouda and asiago. I think it's going to be delicious. And those are all of our ingredients. Okay, we're going to put all this in the blender. Whoops. Got a shell. This is kind of dangerous. Got it. Oh, shoot. I was just thinking. I got it, I got it. Oh, shoot. Another shelf. This one fell on top of the blade, so. Got it. I don't know what it is with me in cottage. It doesn't. Soup, pepper, garlic, salt. Should I try it? Pinch of cayenne. Yep. Cottage cheese is also Abby approved. What does it taste like? Which explains why I like it. I'm a milk girl. It does kind of taste like burly milk, which is what I think it is. Oh, my gosh. Not as spiny. And now we're gonna blend this. While we're waiting for the oven to preheat, we gotta chop up this bacon. Oh, I'm not sure about it. I can do it. I can do it. Okay, hold on, hold on, guys. We've seen how good my strawberry. Let's. They are silicone molds. I don't know. Okay, I'm go ahead and chopping the bacon. Definitely with recommender. Now we're supposed to put a little bit of this in the bottom of each crumb. So we've got our molds filled with. Stop licking. Everything evenly distrib. Okay. And now we bake these. A lot of people online were all over the place, so we'll see if ours turn up. They're supposed to cook until 160 degrees, so I use my little meat thermometer. So now we have to take them out and let them cool for 10 minutes. Here we go. We're gonna see if our egg bites are done. Do we have any taste testers in the house? Amen. It's good. I really like it. Here comes the eggplant. Yum. It tastes very similar to the ones from Starbucks. All right, so we have an update. We decided that we didn't really like our egg bites. They were a little too soft. Some of them were not done in the middle. Like, I think my glass dish cooked better than my stoneware dish because I had them in one of each, not paying attention. And I only tested the temperature of the ones in the. But even the ones that were cooked all the way through, I don't know. I only ate one. How many did you eat? And then we were like, meh, I don't want any more. So I'm having tomatoes and hummus and pretzels, and Beau had orange and dog food. Bo, come here. Bo already ate his dinner.
