This is a short holiday-themed vlog from Holly Furtick (with Abby) demonstrating a TikTok/Instagram craft: turning plastic cups into ornaments. They list required materials (cups, Sharpies, hole punch, parchment paper, cookie sheet), color and decorate cups, then melt them under the oven broiler to flatten them into ornament shapes. They report practical observations (broiler at 500°F, strong heat/smell, inconsistent flattening), rate the experience (4.5/5), and offer tips (change parchment paper, do one at a time, avoid sweaters).
Okay. What's up, guys? Welcome back to the Holly and Abby for Decades. This is the special Christmas edition. Abby and I are going to attempt to make ornaments out of plastic cups. Now, you may have seen this Trend on Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, which I found out today I pronounced wrong. Abbey told me that it's called Pinterest Pinterest, but I call it Pinterest. Anyway, you may have seen this video. This one. Abby and Beau and I are going to attempt to make ornaments out of plastic cups. Here is what you need. Cups. You need cups. Oh, you need Sharpies hole punch. You need a hole puncher. You need parchment paper. And you need an oven cookie sheet. Earlier today, we had some time at the office before we had to pick up Graham. We were killing time. We thought that we would start this video there, which we did, but then my camera batteries died. Check this out of us coloring the cups. Okay, I'm not going for perfection here. I am. This is kind of hard. Everybody, meet Joanna. Just say hi to everyone. I need an opportunity. I wrote holly jolly. Can you see that? And we're gonna see if that turns out or not. Here's Abby's so we can compare. We got cute little non traditional Christmas colors. Honestly, I'll tell you, we didn't know what to color or how color, so we're not even sure if, like, the words are gonna come out. Like, I wrote Merry Christmas on this one and I wrote holly jolly on the top. So I'm curious to see how all these different little designs end up turning out. All right, so we've already experimented with two of our cups. They turned out like this, which is kind of cool. Our holes got. I don't know if you can see this right here. I'm not a very good YouTuber. So we're gonna do our second round. We've got our cups, we're gonna our parchment paper on our cookie sheet. We've got our oven on broil at 500. Smells like burning plastic. Burning plastic for sure. Okay, that one looks pretty good. Whoa, look how fast they're going. It looks like it's flat. So cool. We're doing them one by one, and I'm kind of rotating the pan to make sure that they're all falling flat. These are sick. Ready? Last one. This one's taking, like, so long. Is the oven still on? I turned the oven on. Keep the oven on. I'm sweating. Abby, on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 to 5. 1 to 5. Was this easy? Yeah. How easy? Was it easy? It was a 4.5. Was it fun? Yeah. 4. 4.5 out of 5. Okay. Would you want to do this again next Christmas? Yes. Let's just talk about some of our thoughts on first of all, we change our parchment paper every time. Second of all, don't wear a sweater because I'm sweating. It got so hot in our kitchen. We would say do it one at a time because for some reason, some of them just came out flatter than others. Well, Happy holiday. Merry Christmas. If you like this video, make sure to like it. Subscribe so you can see more videos like this in the new year. But I mean, not ornaments. Comment below if you've done this before and you have some tips and tricks to share with all of us. So there you have it. Merry Christmas.
