YouTube cooking video by Holly Furtick demonstrating how to make toasted pecans (Father’s Day edition). Holly explains soaking pecans in hot water for 15 minutes, draining and seasoning (suggests everything-bagel seasoning, salt, pepper, garlic, onion powder), then microwaving in stages: start with 5 minutes, then repeat cycles of stirring and shorter microwaves (two-minute and one-minute intervals) until toasty. The video includes personal anecdotes and a brief family shout-out.

Hello, YouTube. I am Holly Furtick, this is my YouTube channel. And Father's Day is just around the corner. So I thought that I would show you how to make one of my husband's favorite snacks and that is toasted pecans in the microwave. Now, you may call them pecans, pecans or pecans, which is what I grew up calling them. And I know that's kind of weird, but that's how I say it. You can do a bigger batch. You can do these in the oven or like on a really slow, low temperature. And it's really easy and you don't need to stress over it. Don't need to follow this to a T. Okay, so the first thing we're gonna do and you're gonna soak your pecans in hot water. We've got our pecans. We're gonna let them soak for 15 minutes. Alright, so we have drained our pecans. I'm gonna put them back in this bowl so that I can season them. For your seasoning, really and truly, whatever you have will do. I like to use everything, bagel seasoning. And you can be pretty liberal with it. You want them to taste good, you know, you want them to have a lot of flavor. This is salt, kindred salt, pepper, garlic, and then this one is onion powder. Now we're going to put them in our little bowl here and we're going to put this in the microwave for five minutes the first time. Now what we're gonna do is we're gonna microwave, stir, microwave, stir, microwave, stir until they're done. When are they done? Whenever they're toasty enough for you? I find it very difficult to burn them. So I'm gonna start with five minutes, then I'll do two minutes a couple of times and then I'll go down to one. So let's get this going. Our pecans have done their first five minutes. They look like this and so they're still pretty moist. So we're gonna give them a stir and then give them two minutes. Okay, so two minutes. Here's what they look like. Still pretty moist. Let me give it a stir. Gonna give it two more. Okay, it's been another two minutes, so that's five, two and two. I've gotten nine. I didn't think you should do the math. Alright, here we go. They're looking more toasty. You'll notice when you stir from the bottom that they're gonna be darker on the bottom. Like here. See this guy, how he's like darker on the bottom than he is on the back. I don't know if you can see that or not. Cook should always taste while they're working. Be careful because these are hot. Getting close. We're gonna do another two. Okay, it's been two more minutes. They're looking good. Gonna give them another toss. Okay, guys, our pecans are done. Very hot, steaming warm, toasted roasted pecans. Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there, but my favorite one, Steven Burdick and my dad, Merle Boitnod. Love you guys. Thanks for watching this video. This is really hot. I'm gonna put it down. If you liked it, make sure you give me a thumbs up. And the heart and the comments and all those things. Next time, we'll get Abby back on here with us because I know she's really your favorite, but I'll see you back here next time. I have a special guest. He's being a little bit naughty right now, but if you haven't met him already, this is Sam.
