The best thing about applesauce is that the apples are starting to just kind of. Well, hello. Welcome to The Holly Fritic YouTube channel. And today I thought we can make some applesauce. Yeah, baby. It's fall and you may or may not have gone apple picking with your kids. The Furtick family does not go apple picking for one. It's at least a two hour drive for two. You can buy apples at the grocery store or at some of the produce stands that are around town here. And for three, my kids. You know, the best thing about applesauce is that you can use old apples. As long as they are not moldy, they're fine. You know how sometimes the apples get all, like, wrinkly and a little bit soft in the drawer in your fridge? Those are the ones that you want to use for applesauce. Any ugly apples that you have, any leftover apples that you have. I like to eat apples. So I don't have a lot of apples left over in my fridge. And they were on sale. And here's Teeter. I bought a bag for $1.49 and I wanted to make a friend some applesauce. So that's what we're going to do today. It's going to be sugar free cinnamon applesauce. And you would be surprised at how delicious applesauce tastes with absolutely no sugar, no sugar substitute in it. And I can't wait for you to try it. So first thing that we're gonna do is we are going to peel and core all of our apples. Now, I don't have one of those cranky apple pearl peeler, corer, apple peeler, corer, slicer contraptions that you hook to your sink. They're amazing. I just don't have one. So I'm gonna peel my apples. Watch this. Watch how fast I am. Whoops. All right, now we're going to cut. Got all of our apples prepped. My pot's a little small. Some of my apples didn't cut that well, so I'm just cutting the cores off. Okay. Even though my pot is pretty full, I'm just gonna leave it because they're gonna cook down a lot anyway. So there's our apples. All we're going to do is add a little bit of water first and then we're going to add a little bit of cinnamon. Get these. I'm going to let them cook down before I add the cinnamon. So we'll let them get started. Our apples have been boiling for about five minutes and you can see the Water is coming up and the apples are starting to break down a little bit. We're gonna add some cinnamon. Guessing that was, I don't know, tablespoon or two. However you like it. Start small. You can always add more. That's what my mom said. You can see that the apples are starting to just like break down and kind of get mushy. Put the top back on. All right, let's check. Good. I'm gonna leave the top off now to let some of the moisture get out. This smells so good. I wish you could smell this. So you just want to stir it and make sure that all of your big chunks are kind of broken up. So see how there's some kind of smash it down. Because I like my applesauce chunky. You can cook this down until it's completely smooth. I like mine a little bit chunky, so I kind of leave some of these bigger pieces. And that's also. If you like it chunky. It can be fun to do different kinds of apples because, you know, some apples are more firm than others. So you get lots of different textures in your applesauce. Alright, that's it. That's how you make applesauce. It is truly that easy. I'm gonna let this cool and then I'm gonna put it in some fun jars. Keep some for myself, give some to some friends, and happy fall.
