Welcome to the Homeopathy at Home Podcast. I'm Marcus Fernandez and I'm thrilled to have you join me on this journey into the world of homeopathy. This podcast is inspired by my book Homeopathy at Home, which aims to empower you to take charge of your health using simple, effective homeopathic remedies. Together we're going to explore how homeopathy can be the key to unlocking your body's innate healing wisdom. Whether you're dealing with everyday ailments such as coughs, colds, strains and sprains, sore throats, or just seeking to enhance your health and well being, this podcast is your guide. So let's dive in and discover the transformative power of homeopathy in your everyday life. We're going to go through the top 10 homeopathic remedies these are what I would say that you should get to start off your homeopathic kit at home or your collection of remedies that these aren't exclusively the only remedies that you should have, but these are the first 10 I would say that you should get. It's very difficult to get it down to the top 10 because there's so many remedies, but I'm just going to start off with this initial top 10 and maybe I'll do another top 10 at another time and then another top 10. Maybe I'll do the top 100 remedies you should have at home for home prescribing. Okay, so without further ado, let's get on to the 10 top homeopathic remedies for home, describing the that I feel that you should have at home and you should have and use. But like I said, these aren't my only favorite top 10. These are some top 10 suggestions. So let's start off the homeopathic kit. So you should really make yourself a homeopathic kit in your collection of remedies. You can buy kits from homeopathic pharmacies, but when you start first using homeopathy, it's best to practice with simple first aid problems such as minors, cuts, grazes, burns, bruises and so you get familiar to how to use homeopathy and how to use potency and how to use the frequency of it. And nearly everyone experiences the same symptoms with first aid, so like a bang on the head you'll give arnica. Then you really get to understand the remedies and which to give each remedy for situation and as your confidence grows, then practice on acute complaints such as coughs, colds, headaches Earaches and where it's more important than to prescribe for the individual. So symptoms rather than just the cause of the complaint. And remember, clams, concomitant location, etiology, modality, sensation. I covered this in the top 10 tips of prescribing video. Please watch that because I go through how to take an acute case. Really, really important because like I said, five people can have colds but there's not one homeopathic remedy for colds. It depends on your individual characteristic symptoms. So it's really important that you know how to take an acute case and go to that video. Watch the top Tips of prescribing video on YouTub YouTube. It's on there. It's probably on this Facebook page as well. Go and subscribe to our YouTube channel. We've got over 600 people now subscribe to the YouTube channel with all the different videos. So colds for example, are quite different from one season to another. And so even between people that are individually suffering, there'll be different types of symptoms. So you need to know how to differentiate between the remedies, which is really, really important, and how to choose them. So when you're making your homeopathic kit, most important thing is that it's easy and fun to use it and to learn it. And we're just with a handful of remedies, even a beginner can make a big difference to everyday health problems. So this, you know, acute situation comes up first aid situation, just go to go to the remedies and prescribe one. And what's good about it, you'll see it working. And in acute situations it can work really, really quickly. So the homeopathic remedies are relatively inexpensive as well to buy long lasting, they can last for many years and safe for all ages, even from babies, people who are pregnant, all the way to elderly people. And you can get them. Most of these common ones I'm going to talk about you can get through the health food stores or sometimes even get them from supermarkets. Now supermarkets sell them in different places. The first thing to put together, as I said, is a small home kit of the common remedies which on these 10, which I'm going to go through are good ones to start off with. And so you'll be able to use these, there'll be many, many uses for these 10 I'm going to go through for all different things. So it's really good for you to have them on hand if you need them. Okay. Otherwise sometimes if you have to order them from the pharmacy or go to the health food store. There can be a delay, you know, especially if you have to order them online or order them and then they're going to come through the post. It can be a delay because often in acute situations you need them pretty quickly. So it's good to have some at home. Okay, so let's go to the top 10 homeopathic remedies. First one is aconite. So this is such a great remedy to have. I remember this is given at the beginning of any acute illness or any infection. This is one of the first stages of inflammation. You will give aconite. And this is a really great remedy for shock, such as from bad news, from fright. And it's also, as I said, effective for conditions that come on very quickly, such as a sore throat, the beginning of a sore throat, beginning of a headache, beginning of croup, or most childhood complaints. In the early stages, when you can see they're coming down with something, you feel like you're coming down with something. Give acunite, because aconite can often nip it in the bud. But the thing about Acunite, there's great fear, anxiety and restlessness. Restlessness. And if they've got pains, they can be intolerable and cause great distress. They can be really in a state and you're really key into that mental and emotional state of fear and anxiety. And often they can get symptoms from being chilled. That can be from a dry, cold wind or from a cold draft. So again, you may have been out all day, you may have gone for a walk, you come home and you feel you coming down with something, and it's been a dry, cold wind you've been out of, or you got chilled. Always think of aclife first. And some of the keynotes is it's worse around midnight. Again, worse from fright, worse from shock. Worse than a closed, warm room. They feel worse if they're in a closed room. The better for open, fresh air. So they'll want air, they want the window open. And the better if they're sitting still. And they can have an intense thirst for cold drinks. This is one of the keynotes. Now, I said about keynotes in many of these sessions. Remember, the keynotes are if you had to play a song, two or three notes, you'd recognize the song. It's the same with remedies, but with aconite, you're looking for the fear, the restlessness, those early stages of coming down with something worse for being chilled, worse from a cold, dry wind. But that anxiety and fear will be there. Next remedy is APIs. So this remedy is used and we covered this when we did bites and stings. This remedy is used to treat insects, bites or stings and allergic reactions. Okay, so people get an allergic reaction to something and they start to swell up. Think of hives, urticaria. So also good for cystitis when there's a desire to constantly urinate, but there's a burning pain on urination and the last drops of the urine when they're urinating, they burn and smart. It's really, really, really painful. And often the affected areas of APIs, whatever the condition is, it's red, it's hot and it's inflamed and often swollen. Or they can be edema with burning and stinging pain. Think of the bee sting. It's that burning, stinging pain, but often hot, inflamed and swollen. So this is a good remedy for shingles, for urticaria, which urticaria is like nettle rash where there's large elevated or white wheals on the skin with intolerable itching. They've got to itch and itch and itch and itch and itch. Often worse at night if the itching. And they'll be worse for heat, worse for heat, worse for touch, worse lying down, as I said, worse at night, worse, Often better for cold air or cold application. It could be cold flannel, better for cold drinks. And it's a right sided remedy predominantly. So things on the right side, so sometimes remedy, they can be left sided, they can be right sided. Symptoms can go from right to left, left to right. These remedies have certain characteristics of sides of the body as well. And this is a very thirstless remedy. They don't want to drink the thirstless. So again, another keynote for APIs, very, very useful remedy. Arnica, the number one. Everybody should have arnica with them at all times. 24, 7. In the car, in your bag, in your pocket. My son was playing soccer on the weekend. Again, he takes his arnica in the bag. In case he has a knock, a bang, a bruise, he always takes his arnica. So this is the classic remedy for trauma, injury, bruising, especially to the soft tissue and the muscles. And one of the keynotes is soreness. And if you remember when we've done arnica before, the typical arnica patient will say if they've had an accident, they've fallen over, they've hit the head, they'll say, I'm okay, I'm all right, I'm Okay, I'm all right. That is a keynote to arnica because they often they're in shock, but that's saying, I'm okay, I'm all right, I'm all right. Is often an indication that's an indication to give arnica. When people say that it can also be taken before and after surgery, and I always recommend this to all my clients. Take before and after. And what it does, it prevents trauma and bruising as well as, you know, you can take it from major surgery, minor surgery, dental work, dental surgery, also after childbirth, during and after childbirth, and give it to both. The mother and the baby. Give it to both. But any form of trauma like that, any form of surgery, be it major surgery, minor surgery, things like dental, labor, give arnica also, which people don't realize, a really good remedy for jet lag. So people are jet lags and just feel very tired and they feel like they're being beaten up and they feel bruised and all over. Give arnica again. You can take it before, during, and after the flight that you have now. One of the keynotes again, and I've bolded these in the PowerPoint, is soreness, as if beaten. They feel like they've been beaten in the muscles and they can't get comfortable. You know, they move around a lot. One of the keynotes is that their bed feels too hard. They just can't get any relief. Can't get any relief. Some of the modalities are the worst for touch, worse for pressure, worse for cold, worse for motion, and worse for jarring. If you suddenly jar. Oh, they really feel it. Better for rest, better for lying down. Arnica should be in everybody's home, should be in every emergency room, A and E department. This should be arnica. It should be there now, as well as taking arnica internally. Also useful to have arnica cream at home. This is good for, again, for bruises, minor injuries. But the big thing about arnica cream, do not apply it to broken skin. The skin's broken. Do not apply arnica. There's calendula cream you can apply, but not if the skin is broken. But again, this is good for muscular pain, stiffness, and, you know, use it sparingly and the affected areas and gently massage it on three or four times a day and you can put it right where the injury is. If there's a bruise and they've had a concussion, then you can just massage it into that plate and it often will prevent the development of bruises. Universal remedy. So you can take it internally as well as applying it externally as a cream. But remember, the cream should not be applied to broken skin. Next remedy to have at home, arsenicum album. Okay. And you can start by this picture. That gives you a good indication of this remedy. So this is a remedy that has a lot of weakness. Very chilly and very anxious. But they're also extremely restless and they're very anxious about their health or disease. They feel they've got something and they get some symptoms and think, oh, my goodness, this could be something even worse. What does this mean? So they get very anxious and very restless and quite exhausted from all that mental activity of worrying and being fearful. It's a great remedy for digestion, such as food poisoning, where there's diarrhea and vomiting and often any pains they have or any discharges they have are burning. Okay, they have burning. So if they've got a discharge, like use arsenicum for hay fever, the tears will burn the cheeks. If they have diarrhea from the food poisoning, it will be burning. But the interesting thing about arsenic is that it's better for heat. So the burning pains are often better for heat. Why? Very, very chilly. But this is what we call a strange, rare and peculiar symptom. It's better burning, but better for heat. This is a keynote of arsenicum, also good for insomnia with anxiety. And you can see when I did my anxiety top remedies for anxiety. On that video, you'll see arsenicum is one of those remedies that we use for insomnia from anxiety, they're worse from cold, worse around midnight, around 11:00pm to 2:00am, another keynote here. Things can get worse. So the anxiety can get worse, the burning pains can get worse, they can get the diarrhea at that time, it suddenly wakes them up and they're going, they're better for heat, better for company. They want reassurance, want people around them better for sitting up, better for elevating their head and better for open air and the thirsty for cold water. But they'll only sip it. They won't glug it down like Bryonia. They'll just sip it, okay? They'll just sip it. Thirsty for small sips. And I mentioned about company. They're better for being around people, but they won't get any relief. And they'll think it's going to make them feel better, but they won't feel relief and they'll be very restless. So again, look at that, those keynotes there, which I've underlined and bolded weakness. Chilly, anxious, restless pains are burning Discharges are burning. Worse for cold, better for heat. Okay, worse around midnight. Next remedy, belladonna. An acute thing about belladonna, and I put here, it's like a storm. Belladonna comes suddenly and then it goes just as quick. So often this is the beginning of an infection, the beginning of inflammation. And there's redness. The belladonna is redness. So you could think about this in a fever. Very common to use in fever, sunstroke, headaches, and for any infections such as boils or abscesses. Give me some suggestions of what you can use belladonna for. But this is very fast, very sudden. That's the thing about bella. Suddenly, very sudden and intense. So you get sudden pains and the pains are often throbbing. Throbbing is a big keynote for belladonna. Also, you can have sharp cutting pains as well. But this is like the sensation of the blood suddenly rushes to one area and there's congestion and it's hot and it's throbbing. So that congestion, hot and throbbing. Intense heat in affected areas and affected parts. And they can radiate heat. It feels like heat is this. You go near a belladon, a person, when they're a belladonna state and you can feel the heat coming off them, off their body. It's that much. And they have a red face. The face will look flushed and they will have glassy eyes and also the pupils will be dilated with belladonna, especially in their fevers. Very sensitive to pain and all the senses are heightened and they want to be racked up. They're very sensitive to drafts, even though they feel hot. And like I said, the pains come and go very quickly. Better for standing, better for sitting down. But they have to be upright, especially like with the headaches, better bending backwards. That can also help the headaches as well. But they can just help. They just feel better. Worse moving, Worse for touch, Worse being heated. Worse jarring. It's like because they're so sensitive to any sort of motion or touch, it's like the slightest little jar, it goes right through them. Often can be worse around 3pm and they crave lemons or crave lemonade. Big keynote again for belladonna. Great remedy. Next one is calendula. Now I've got this calendula cream rather than calendula Tony, just because you'll use the cream more. So this is good to use in a tincture, especially if warm rather than cool, diluted in warm water. And it promotes healing. So this is what you put into water. It reduces inflammation, stops, clears Infection. And it's really good to have in a first aid box with your first aid remedies. Make sure the cut is clean with all the debris removed. And then calendula can really promote fast healing. And so we want to clean it because it can. It can often heal over dirt and foreign bodies. It really stimulates healing. So make sure that the wound is cleaned. So you can put the tincture, 10 to 15 drops, and the herbal tincture into a small glass of cool boiled or sterile water for bathing. Clean the wounds. If it stings, then dilute it with more water. You can use it in childbirth. Useful after childbirth, wash the perineum. And again in dentistry. So if you've had. If the mouth is sore or after extractions of any dental work, or any dental work, I'd say it's all even having fillings done or even a clean. When you've seen the hygienist that you can use this as a mouthwash. Put dilute it in water, use it a mouthwash, and it's a great sort of antiseptic for the whole mouth. Next remedy, gelsemium, one of my favorite. This is the remedy I took that actually got me into homeopathy. So gelsemium is great ailments from bad news. State of shock. Like a rabbit in the headlights. Okay, like a rabbit in the headlights. So this can be when people about anticipation, apprehension, dread of any new situation. So that could be taking exams, doing a speech, starting a new school, starting a new job. But there's a lot of anticipation, dread and apprehension. And the keynote for Gelsemin, because there's other remedies for apprehension and anticipation. The keynote with them is they feel paralyzed. They're very dull, very heavy, very drowsy. And there's weakness in the mind and the body. They just. They just feel very, very weak. And they can be trembling as well. They can tremble from fright after fright or from anticipation before an event. And often they can be gradual onset of the symptoms. So it's not like bang straight away. We talked about belladonna being sudden. This can gradually come on and they'll have drowsiness and the apathy. They'll be apathetic. I think about influenza because it's a big remedy for influenza where there's weakness and they can have a headache, which is like a band around the head. They have droopy eyelids, just really, really sort of, like I said, almost very drowsy. But they'll have coldness with the influenza and shivers up and down the spine. Cold shivers up and down the spine, but there'll be weakness. They're worse for mental exertion. They can be worse for the heat of the sun that can bring on things. And worse, lying with their head low, they're better for pressure. So if they say they had a headache, it'd be better for pressure, better raising the head high on the pillow and better for urination. So when they urinate that can improve their symptoms. They just suddenly start feel themselves after they've urinated. But they are thirstless and you'll find they tend to urinate more than they're drinking. So again, gelsemine is. But think of it for shock, bad news, ailments from bad news, big remedy for that. When people go into this state of apathy and drowsiness and as though they are just very, very weak, the limbs feel heavy. But it's also good like acute for headaches, for influenza when you have those characteristic symptoms. Hepa sulf, another great remedy. You've talked about this a lot over the course of our live sessions. So this is a great remedy for suppuration. This is, you know, production of pus tendency for suppuration. But it's the second stage of inflammation. So aconite could be the first stage or belladonic, then it will go on to the second stage. So this is a great remedy for abscesses, boils. It's good for croup as well, especially when there's mucus with the croup. It's good for colds, ear infections, tonsillitis and often with hepar sulph. One of the keynotes is a thick yellow discharge. Now that can be coming from the nose or the throat or it can be coming as pus out of a boil. But it's thick, yellow and offensive. It's really, really smelly. Smells like old cheese. Okay, that what it smells like. So they can be get ailments or symptoms from getting chilled, sitting in a draft cold wind. We talked about that with aconite, but this is beyond aconite. And they often have splinter like pains or stabbing pains. So if they do have a boil or abscess, they could have a boil in the mouth or an abscess in the teeth. Then there'll be like splinter like pains, but very painful. But they are often very chilly. They cannot get warm and very irritable. Look at this picture of this lady. Very irritable, very bad tempered. You say something to them, it's like, you know, what did you say? It's like you can't do enough for them. It's like they're really, really irritable, Very oversensitive to noise and different things and even what you say to them or if you're asking them questions or you're just in the room with them. Bit like Nux vomica is a bit like that. Worse for cold, they cannot be cold. They're so cold in themselves, they cannot have any more cold. Slightest draft, they're so sensitive, they can feel when a window's open upstairs on the second floor, they can feel it. Worse for touch, worse waking, worse for pressure, better for damp weather, better for heat, better for wrapping up. So you'll see with a possible person, they will want to wrap up and keep warm. But again, great remedy for the abscesses, any form of suppuration, as we talked about, and when the discharge is like thick, offensive and smells like old cheese. But again, think of it, ear infection, tonsillitis for those sort of situations. Next remedy hypericum. So again, great for stings of insects or animal bites, like dog bites especially, or where there's been a puncture wound. Okay, really important. So puncture wound, animal bites or insects, stings of insects. And this is, we're talking about wounds like a dog bite, lacerated wounds, wounds. This is where the flesh is being torn. Okay, the tearing of the flesh. And it's often great for injuries rich in nerves. So you think of the fingers, the spine, anywhere there's rich amount of nerves. That's where hypoecin can be so good. It's a specific for nerve injury. It's a specific remedy for whiplash. When people may be in a car accident or whiplash on the neck and injuries to the tailbone or the coccyx specifically for that. It's more tender than the appearance would indicate. So they might have hurt themselves. It's like over the top, sensitive and painful. You think, well, it's not that bad. Oh, it's so painful. That's how they describe it. And they'll describe the pains as shooting pain, sharp shooting pains, especially in these nerve rich areas radiating, they radiate to the rest of the body. So the pain will maybe in the fingers, but it will radiate up their arm to the rest of the body. And this is a specific. If somebody crushes their fingers, they trap them in a door or they trap them in. Yeah, the car as well. Especially you've got kids, that happens quite a lot. Or they're being lacerated in some way or hit with a hammer. You know, somebody's doing Some diy and they hit it with a hammer onto the fingers. Great remedy to take for that. So you can also routinely take it or give it after root canal, dental work, or any sort of dental work, or any work where there's been a lot of nerve endings. So any form of surgery, you can give Hypericum 4, especially when there's a lot of nerves involved. Nerve pain, better for rubbing the affected areas, better for warmth, worse for cold, damp, worse for touch and worse for pressure. So again, you can see how the last Heposulf was better. Damp, where hypericum is worse, damp. Some are worse for touch, some are better for pressure, some are better for warmth, some are better for cold. This is how you differentiate between the remedies. Nux vomica. Good picture here of the nux vomica drinking his coffee. This is a remedy for overindulgence. Rich food, wine, alcohol, drugs, coffee, and this craving for these, often with an UX vomicant as a character. Often you see they have three cups of coffee espressos in the morning, and then they'll be having rich food, maybe at dinner time, and then they need alcohol to come down at the end of the day. But this is a remedy for overindulgence. However, you overindulge of those things I've just suggested. It's a great remedy for that. So it could be good for Christmas time when people overindulge. But it's really got a focus. Nux vomic around digestive issues, such as stomach upsets, indigestion, headaches, often from indigestion, digestive issues. And it's the number one hangover remedy. Okay, with headaches, irritability, may have nausea, may have vomiting after drinking too much alcohol, but it's the hangover remedy. And people can take it before, during and after if they're going out and using alcohol. And a keynote for this is irritability. They are so irritable, nux vomica, especially in the morning. You don't want to talk to a nux vomica in the morning. They'll bite your head off until they've had the four double espressos. Then they can talk to you. Very impatient, very angry. So all that is a real keynote. So the mental and emotional state of somebody with nux vomica. So if somebody's just got a headache or got an upset tummy, if they're irritable, impatient, angry with this, and they feel nauseous, think of nux vomic. It's a good remedy for people who overwork too much mental work, they've overused their brain. You see this a lot in business people when they're having, you know, two or three hours sleep and they need the coffee to wake up or the alcohol to come down at the end of the day. This sets up a very nux vomica state and it's to do with the nervous system. So Nux vomica's nervous system is very, very keyed up. So that's why often they get insomnia where they can awake at 3am Often after the alcohol's worn off, they wake up and they lie awake with rush of thoughts of work in their heads. They're thinking about this, this is then they're awake until morning. So after a time this can really wear down, wear them down and wear down the constitution because you need to sleep to repair and to recover. Worse in the mornings, as we said, worse for cold. Again, the very chilly remedy, bit like Heposulf. And this is where you can compare them, differentiate between them because they're very irritable, worse for alcohol, worse being uncovered, they like to be wrapped up. Worse for noise, worse for pressure of the clothes, they need to undo the belt or they need to, you know, they feel they need to open things up. Better for heat, better for lying down, better for hot drinks, better for the power nap, having a nap. Better for discharges because often they can be, which I didn't mention was constipation. So they can have constipation when with ineffectual urging. So they pass small amounts of stool, like in little bits, and they don't feel like they're finished. It's like they can't seem to get it out. But once if they do have a bowel movement, they feel a lot better in themselves. So that hence the better for discharging. And as I said, very, very chilly. Next remedy, Rust Tox. This remedy. Wow, this I just won't be out this remedy. Got to have this remedy. It's used for spraying strains of muscles or tendons and it's the remedy for injuries from overexertion that can be straining the voice. I've treated singers who've overstrained the voice for that overlifting. You know, you've moved in house and you've overlifted or you've been in the garden and you've been doing too much work or exercise where people have exercised and they've over strained themselves. So stiffness is a primary symptom of Rustox. It's a Primary symptom of it with sore pain and restlessness. Okay, so the sore pain and restlessness but you have to remember if you've got symptoms of stiffness and you'll see some of the characteristic symptoms here you always think of Rus Tox because it's the stiffness remedy. It's sometimes used to relieve acute sciatica and the acute pain of rheumatism as well of arthritis. So again this can be used acutely for chronic conditions. Skin rashes. Big remedy for skin rashes like chickenpox shingles especially where there's red hot and intense itching. And it comes like water filled blisters which then when you itch them they burst and then it leaves this flaky skin. So really good for skin rashes. Again remember Russell, Rustox is made from poison ivy. So think about when people get stung or poisoned by poison ivy on the skin it's that very red hot and intense itching. It's a good remedy for influenza. Again where there's stiffness, soreness and restlessness. I can't overemphasize how restless rust Tox is. They've got to keep on moving. They've got to keep on moving and they feel better for it. So the pain and stiffness and this is really important to ask people is worse first moving. So the first goat to move but better once they carry on, better for continued motion. And so if you ask people how they're feeling. I'm feeling really, really stiff, really painful once if you carry on walk. Oh yeah, yeah, I feel a lot better. That's the indication of Rustox and this is why it's called the Rusty Gate remedy. So the more that you use it, you might, you know, the more that it gets better. Okay, the rusty gate gets easier to but you first open it creaking away and you keep moving it and it gets more sort of. Yeah, just gets easier to move it. That's rust toxic. So worse first moving, worse in the cold, worse damp weather, getting wet, worse at night, better for heat, better for hot bathing, better for continued motion and better changing positions as well. The move from one position to another. Again a chilly, chilly remedy. So again look at these keynote characteristic symptoms of this remedy because there's other remedies that have stiffness but they're worse for any movement, namely Bryonia. So this is just good to know the differences and when you ask the questions I go back to the clams again with the modalities sensations. What the sensations like Rustoc is stiffness what's the modalities like? Worse. First motion better. Continue motion Worse. Damp. So these are people that get feel like the rheumatism really plays up when it's damp weather. You think of rust Hox. Okay, so that's all the remedies I want to talk about. I want to talk about remedy kits. So there are many more remedies to choose from. I've just given you some top 10 to start off with, so I know I want to get comments saying yes. What about Pulsatilla? What about Bryonia? I could have had all those remedies in there. And most remedy kits that you buy from the homeopathic pharmacies, they have, I think Helios has 18 all the way up to like 42 remedies in some of these kits. These are just to start off at home. The first ten. Okay. It'll give you a good, good start. And you can purchase any of those kits, remedy kits from any homeopathic pharmacy. They sell kits, just give them a ring and order a kit. Advise you all to do so or make your own kit and buy the individual remedies. And often the kits come with instructions of how to use the remedies as well. Also I want to mention Rescue Remedy I've mentioned a couple of times in some of my videos. Rescue Remedy is great to have. Again, like Arnica. It's got a blend of the five original 38 Bach flower remedies developed by Edward Bach. And it's got Rock Rose, which is good for terror and panic. Impatience, which helps with irritation and impatience. Clematis aids inattentiveness and lack of focus. Star of Bethlehem, which is for shock.
