Hi everyone, wherever you may be in the world, welcome to today's session which is on hay fever. Now, homeopathy is very, very effective for hay fever. There's all different types of remedies for hay fever. So this is a great opportunity to share with you some of the top remedies which you can use to deal with the acute symptoms of hay fever. The thing about homeopathy, it is simple. It is simple. We can complicate it. But what my job of today, and this is not a plug, but my home prescriber book is to keep it simple. You can do this, it's just by using the remedies. Remember the law of similars, these principles of homeopathy that are the bedrock and foundation of what we do. So without further ado, let me begin. So as we said, there's many remedies for hay fever and I'm just going to go through some of the top 10 remedies, some very keynotes and just to remind you, what is a keynote? Well, if you played a song, two or three notes, then you'd recognize that song. And it's the same with the remedies. These characteristic symptoms that make up these remedies will key you into the remedy, into what we call the materia medica, which is the remedies. So this is what we teach you today. I'm not form huge pictures of these remedies. There's some of these keynotes and with hay fever often it can be quite a chronic problem. So people have may have had it for many, many years. Now these remedies I'm going to talk about today, they're really good for the acute, when you got the acute symptoms. But I would advise all of you for the if you've had it for a long Time it's a chronic problem, hay fever, then you should go and see a fully qualified homeopath to deal with what we call the miasmatic aspect of hay fever. So you've got to get treat the myosomes, often with hay fever, which is more the predisposition, the chronic side of it. But there is remedies you can take for the acute and these you can buy from any health food stores, homeopathic pharmacies, some you will be able to get, some you probably have to go specifically to a homeopathic pharmacy. But I just want to go through the top 10. There's more remedies, but I want to give you the top 10. And often with hay fever, you see that it's our overreaction. There's an overreaction going on to the external environment. So, as you know, hay fever is a common allergic condition and it affects up to about one in five people at some point in their life. And some of the common symptoms of hay fever is frequent sneezing, a ruddy or blocked nose, itchy or watery eyes, and an itchy throat or an itchy nose. So these are some of the common symptoms that, that you get those. I was saying it's like the pollen comes into the body, but the body overreacts. It overreacts to what's going on. It's, oh, my God, no, red alert, I need to deal with this. And so we'll produce a nasal discharge to try to get rid of it. And it's the overreaction. That's why I'm saying that these remedies will help acutely if you've got an acute situation. But for the long term, you often have to treat hay fever during the winter months. So that's why you need to go and see your homeopathy or deal with it, Miles massively in the, in the winter, in the winter months. And then you'll find that the following year that it's a lot better or it may have gone completely. So one of the things, the slides, well, a lot of people have asked for the slides, so the slides we're going to make available. So you're going to be able to download these slides as a PDF and have them for yourself. So also with hay fever, you'll experience hay fever symptoms if you have allergic reactions to the pollen, as we said. So pollen is a very fine powder which is released by plants and reproductive, during the reproductive cycle. And it contains proteins that can cause the nose, the eyes, the throat, the sinuses, even people's ears to become swollen, irritated and inflamed. And you can get it from tree pollen, which is released during the spring. Grass pollen released during the end of spring, at the beginning of summer, also weed pollen as well, which is often released in the late autumn. So I see little comments about the slide. Don't worry about the slides. Let's listen to what I'm saying and make your notes. You'll get a copy of the slides with a PDF. Okay, so Allium Sipa. So this is the first revenue which is made from onion. So the remedy, Allium Sipa, you know, you chop up an onion, your eyes water, your nose runs. Well, as you know, we use onion in a diluted form, a homeopathic form, for coughs, colds, but also hay fever. And with onion sepia, it predominantly affects the nose. So there's this profuse, watery, bland nasal discharge often accompanied with sneezing. And this discharge can burn the nose and the upper lip here. And this can be a sensation of rawness in the nose. Again, imagine when you chop an onion up, what that sensation is like in your nose. And the head can feel dull and all bunged up or congested. But there's also itching in the nose, the back of the throat and the roof of the mouth. When these are some common symptoms, you'll see often the eyes are red and sensitive to light with watery, quite profuse tears that burn. So again, you're chopping onion up, those burning tears that come down in your eyes. And the worst for being in the warm room, better for cold, open air. Okay, so when we decide in between these remedies, we're always looking at the sensation, the modalities. So with Allium Sepa, worse for the warm room, better for cool open air. And they're particularly sensitive, this remedy, to the skin of peaches. You know, the peach, the fruit skin of peaches and flowers, the odor of flowers. This can be. They can be very, very sensitive to. To that. The next remedy I remember called Arundo. And again, you probably won't find this in the health food store, but they may be able to order it for you. But you're probably going to find this at a homeopathic pharmacy. So here the hay fever starts with this remedy with the burning, really burning of the palate and the eyes and itching of the palate. It's like they really want to keep itching the palate, you know, the roof of the mouth. And it's also have this really annoying itching in the nostrils and the roof of the mouth, as we say. It's very, it's going to keep itching. It. They get a pain at the root of the nose here and they lose their smell. Okay, there's another remedy, nature, and we all will talk about also loses its smell. Lots of sneezing. But remember this itching of the nostrils, itching and the burning of these keynotes of arundo. Okay? So look at lmcepa, look at a rundown and you can differentiate between that remedy. The next one is arsenicum album. And if you don't know, we did arsenicum last time for anxiety. So some of these remedies have huge, huge, huge pictures to them and can be used for many, many things. That's why they call Polycrest remedies, which means have many uses. So often with arsenicum they can have much burning in the eyes and the nose. And the nose constantly running with a, with a discharge that makes the nose really sore and chapped. You know, the blow in the nose and it gets really sore and really chapped. And it, what they call an excoriating discharge means like it really burns. Bit like very acidic almost. So. So they get a lot of redness around here. But burning again is a keynote for this remedy. And they get sneezing and it's just keep sneezing, sneezing without relief. And then the nose gets sore. And sometimes also with arsenicum, they can have wheeziness in their chest and feel a bit short of breath. Again, worse in the mid summer, worse at midnight. This is the keynote for arsenicum. Better sitting up, so they won't want the windows open at night. It's the summer's evening. They want them closed because they get aggravated at midnight they can get quite anxious. Remember when we did anxiety in the last session? Can get very, very anxious. The worst outdoors, better indoors. Opposite to what the previous remedy, coughing and wheezing. So they'll have a cough with the hay fever as well. And they feel a bit tight and wheezy. They can't lying down, better sitting up. Okay. And they're very sensitive to cold air. They get very, very chilly, okay? So they want to, want to be wrapped up. They can have the thirst for sips for water, but often it's in sips. Okay, but this thing with arsenicum is the burning. It's the acrid discharge especially around the sore the nostrils here and it gets a bit chapped, but also with the chest involvement as well. So that's a big key note for arsenicum. The next remedy, Euphrasia or better known as eyebright. So this is hay fever that predominantly affects the eyes. So though eyes profuse watery tears just streaming down the face, constantly watering. And it can have a sense like a sensation of a gritty feeling in their eyes. Feels gritty like the sand in their eyes. And again, the tears can be burning again. But the nasal discharge they can get as well is quite bland. Okay. Because sometimes people can have different colored discharges. And homeopathy we see that as important because some roommates have different colors, like dark green, yellow, dark yellow. As homeopaths where always fascinated with people's discharges, we always ask, oh, what color is that? What color is the nasal discharge? Because why it indicates us to the right remedy. Because you're a bit like a detective, you know, when we're looking at homeopathy, whether we're home prescribing or a qualified homeopath, we're like a detective. We're trying to get all this information. What makes it better, what makes it worse? What's the sensation like? Whereabouts is it? What was happening before it started? So this is all really important to a homeopath. So the eyes water, especially in sunlight. So it's sunlight. The eyes will water even more in sunlight. But again, it's better for open air, better for the blink and wipe their eyes, obviously, because there's nothing in there. But it's particularly the worst in sunlight, but also in the wind as well. The eyes are very sensitive. So think of anything really predominantly the eyes you think of Euphrasia often get oppressive pain across the forehead and the headache can with it. They get this headache as though it would burst. Okay. As though the headache would burst. Sorry, the head would burst with the headache. So that's the sensation that they get. Other Remy's will have different sensations. Some people feel like their heads are no vice or they feel like there's a band around the head. So if they say they have a headache, a good question to ask is, what? Well, what does it feel like? And often people will say, well, it feels like a headache. You know, headache's a headache. Well, no, because people have different sensations in the headache. So a good thing to say to them, well, if they can't describe you say, well, if you had to inflict that pain onto me, what would you do to me? And they said, well, I put something in there to make your head burst or put a band around your head. So it's always good to ask that question when you've got it or when you're asking yourself when you're trying to find a remedy for yourself. So oppressive pain across the forehead and a pain headache as though it would burst. And they have profuse nasal dripping. Okay. During the day, this is important. They have a nasal discharge during the day, but it's blocked up at night. They feel really bunged up at night. So again, this is a keynote. So it tied you in to this remedy of Euphrasia. Great remedy. Remember that remedy I bright. That's why I put the big. I just remind everybody, people come late. You're going to get, you can get a copy of these PDFs, we're going to let you have access to them. So don't worry if you can't see them on your screen. I don't know what you're watching it on. You will get it. Just listen to the words that I'm talking about. Okay, the next remedy, which is what's called a combination remedy. So mix pollen is a really good remedy, which a lot, again, the homeopathic pharmacies sell a lot of health food stores sell them. So a combination remedy is lots of remedies combined in one. And with mixed pollen, it contains a mixture a homeopathic of grasses, cereals, early and mid blossom trees, weeds and flowers. Okay? It's a combination of all these. So basically they've made them into a homeopathic version of themselves. And this is really good. You can take this before the hay fever starts, like a month before. Take, you know, two or three doses of a 30C. And again for all of you, and I've said this in the last session, just stick with 30 Cs if you're, if you're just starting out in homeopathy like you get in these remedy kits or you can buy from the health food stores, just start off with a 30C. And so you can take this and what it does, it lessens your sensitivity to the hay fever when it does come. Okay? So you may find by taking the mixed pollen a month before, like you may take it, you know, once a week for a month before of a 30C, you may find your symptoms are a lot better. They may be 60% better and you may still get hay fever symptoms. But now you can give the indicated remedy, which are the ones we've been talking about to see if that fits your remedy picture. So it's really good to stop that sensitivity of the hay fever symptoms when they come. So don't forget mixed pollen. It's a really, really good combination remedy. The next remedy, one of my favorites Remedies is the remedy natrimuir. Okay, so nature actually made from common salt, this remedy. But this is again, hay fever with much sneezing. And you'll find that this keynote for this remedy is that they're worse for sunlight. Hence the picture from sunlight. And there's violent sneezing with a running discharge. And the discharge is like, you know, like very thin, like, like egg white. You know, like egg white in an egg thin, like that, that sort of discharge, but that eyes water really easily and itch and burn from direct sunlight. Okay, so the eyes are water, they'll itch, they'll burn, and they'll sneeze a lot during. During sunlight. Okay, during sunlight. So they are worse for. So like what we call photophobia. Photophobia, this sensitivity to the sunlight, to light and to sunlight. So even if the light streaming through your window in the house and you start to sneeze and sneeze and sneeze, that's a good indication for, for nature mule, they are worse sneezing from looking at the sun. And what you get, again with this remedy, you'll get loss of smell and you'll get loss of taste. They can't smell anything and they get, they lose their taste. And one of the big keynotes for nature, Muir, is they desire salt. As I said, this remedy is made from salt. So it's. They desire. What's the remedy that they need? They're desiring the remedy that they need. So great remedy for hay fever, nature mule. This again is another huge remedy as many, many uses. Nature mule is predominantly a grief remedy, a great grief remedy, especially from things from the past. But you don't need that for the hay fever symptoms. Just additional information. Okay, so that's nature mule. So the next remedy, nux vomica. Now this is hay fever, where the stuffed up feeling in the nose. Worse at night or outdoors. Okay, worse at night or outdoors. And there's much sneezing with a runny nose in the daytime, stuffed up at night, or a blocked nose on one side. That one side of the nose is blocked up. And again, they can have wheezing. This can the chest can be involved with nux vomica. And they feel worse if their stomach is full. If they eat too much, they feel the clothes are too tight, they've got to undo the belt. It's like pressing on the diaphragm, which affects their breathing. But the thing about nux vomica is they're incredibly credibly irritable, incredibly impatient. Okay, they're incredibly impatient. So they'll get very irritable with you. You know, how are you? We tried the sneezing and doing that and the nose is just running constantly and they get angry about it and they're just basically like a bear with a sore head. Vary to irresponsible if you want to help them. No, no, leave me alone. Leave me alone. They're very short tempered so you know you best probably keeping your distance from, from nux vomica. And so yeah, it's the most benefit. They discharge so they better when this nose is, with this nose is discharging. But like I said, it is very irritable, very impatient. As you see that angry face, I mean that's probably a bit over the top. But the art nux vomicant can be very angry and very, very irritable. I'm just looking to see whether there's something else on that slide and I can't quite see what, what I've put there. But we'll, we'll go. Yeah, we'll have to carry on. You'll see it in your slide. Okay. Pulsatella. So another great hay fever remedy, Pulsatilla. So such a beautiful flower. Pulse Teller. It's a lovely flower. So often they can get hay fever with a thick bland discharge and that somebody can be like yellowy as well with the discharge of pulsatella. And this nose is stuffed up and they only feel better for open air. So if they have a window open they feel better or outside they need that flowing air and they feel a lot better. They are so bad in hot stuffy rooms. It's like they wilt. They need the open air. They need to get out into that open air. And their eyes are itch and they burn and the eyes can get quite inflamed, quite red and and their eyelashes, because you can get a discharge like a yellowy discharge out of the eyes as well. And the eyelashes can get stuck, stuck up with this yellow gunk. This is why there's a good remedy for conjunctivitis in kids, for example, in people. But they get this sort of. I said with yellow discharge not only nasally but also in their eyes and their eyelashes and they can all clump together from this, this thick yellow mucus. And again they have a lot of sneezing and can have a loss of taste and smell as well. And they can really feel sorry for themselves. Pulsatella. They are opposite to nux vomicare which is all. Leave me alone. Leave Me alone like a bear with a sore head. Where pulsatilla is very much, you know, they feel sorry for themselves. They want to be looked after. Yeah. And you want to look after them. You know, it's like, oh, what can I do for you? That pulsillo always look like they need to have a cuddle. They need to be looked after. They need to be loved because they can come across as quite forsaken, you know, in their, in their behavior. But yeah, they're just really worse stuffy rooms. They need to be in the open air. But again, think of this, these blind discharges with pulsatella. But again with most of the hay fever symptoms. Sneezing and may have a loss of taste or a loss of smell as well. Sabodilla, this is going to be number nine. How quickly does time go when we go through this? So Sabadilla has copious watery discharge and they have this spasmodic, loud sneezing with this running nose. So what I mean by that spasmonic like one after the other, sneeze, sneeze, sneeze as though it's not going to stop. It's like it keeps going. And with this lot of this watery discharge, they can have a tingling in the nose a lot. They complain a lot of tingling in the nose, itchiness in the nose with this tingling and a. And also a redness in their eyes and burning in their eyes. Again with a lot of pain. They can get a lot like sinus pain as well with this. Lots of tears from their eyes and like they feel like they've got sinus pain again quite bunged up. They have a very dry, dry mouth. That mouth feels dry but that thirstless. So they don't have a thirst. Which again is quite an unusual thing. So the complaint is dry, but they don't, they don't want to drink. Well, some other people can have a really dry mouth and want to drink. So it's quite an unusual symptom. Better for being in a warm room. There's object to pulsilla. They love being in the warm room. And actually pulsiller can be. Is thirstless as well. So you might be thinking Sabadilla and pulse still it. And then they'll say, but I'm better. I need to be in a warm room. I need being wrapped up and being indoors. Okay, so they want to be inside. Their nose is blocked, but it blocks some changes from side. Like right, then the left one's blocked, then the right one's blocked, then the Left one's blocked, but block for quite a while now, your nose. And if you know anything about yoga, but in yoga, not that I'm an expert in yoga, but I know from breathing that it switches. One nose is always more open than the other. But this is more that it really gets blocked on the right side. You know, it could be like that for a day or so. Then they notice the left side is now blocked. So it alternates. It alternate sides and they get very sensitive to smell. Okay? Very sensitive smell. Even thinking about the flowers or, you know, that can get very sensitive. Even think about flowers can bring on the eyes watering or the nose running. So they're very, very, very sensitive. And they're aggravated by newly cut grass particularly. So newly cut grass, if somebody just cut the lawn or in a field, the grass has been cut, this can really, really affect them and in interest rates. Also the smell of garlic. So the smell of garlic can be really aggravate and bring on their symptoms. Now, this could be wild garlic that grows out in the wild, or it can be garlic that they. That somebody's cooking. And it can really aggravate that and aggravate those symptoms. They're worse for cold air, but better for heat. Okay, for better for heat. So again, great remedy. Sabadilla and number 10, whyethia. Why ethia? This is itching. They this. With this remedy, they have again, itching of the nose and the throat. Again, particularly the roof of the mouth. And then the throat feels very dry, but it feels swollen. Okay, the throat feels dry and it feels swollen. And they want to always, like when I clear the throat, they feel like there's something there and there's difficulty in swallowing. They can have a sort of a. Well, with that clearing of the throat. They can also have a dry, irritable cough as well. Again, it brings the chest into this. But they can have sneezing with runny nose less like a lot of the other these remedies. But they have this prickling sensation in the sinuses, like prickling sensation in their sinuses and dryness in the sinuses or sensation of something in the sinuses, something stuck in the sinuses. Okay, so again, think of this stuckness with bf. It feels like things are stuck or like I said, in the throat here or in the sinuses. It's like there's something that's there, but it's like things are swollen. It feels everything, like swollen, you know, inside. Now, with these remedies, as you said, what you. What you want to do, you would Give them as a 30C potency. And you've got to decide on the frequency of how you want to take it. So I would set off by taking, say, say any of these remedies we just talked about. You could take a 30C and then repeat it, you know, in a. If it's quite acute, you know, do 30C and do it three times a day, or do it twice a day, morning and night, and to see if you get any relief from it. Once you get relief from it, you can stop the remedy, you know, and then see how you go on and then repeat it if you need to, or you need to. Because you're looking for the. What we call the vital force. We're looking at the body's reaction to the remedy. Because the remedies are this keys to a lock. It's just stimulating the body to heal itself. And once it starts to move and starts to. You've stimulated that vital force. It will do the work. Okay? It will do the work. That's what we're doing. You were to stimulate the body to heal itself. As I used that analogy before, a lot of times with hay fever, people use allopathic medication, which can suppress the system. It's just trying to suppress the system where we're trying to activate it and deal with it on its own, with getting your immune system to deal with it and your vital force to deal with it on your own. Like I said before obsession we had last week, you have to get your own advice from a qualified homeopathic practitioner. I'm just giving you some of the broad remedies that you can use. And if you need to get advice, then you need to get advice from a qualified practitioner. But hopefully from those top remedies, you got some more idea of what how to prescribe for hay fever for yourself at home prescribing. And this is really what these sessions are for. These are like things you can do in the home for your friends, for your family, for yourself, for your loved ones. And just get using it. Because the more that you use it and you see the results that you get, the more you will use it. Because homeopathy is about doing it. It's about giving the remedies, taking the remedies and seeing how it works for you. And this is how you learn. This is how you learn the remedies. And that's why I said last time that everybody should get a remedy kit or get a small collection of remedies and learn how to prescribe for yourself. Because once you Use it, you see it, and that will encourage you to use it more. And often people that you know, in order to use, you need a bit of information. This is what these sessions are about. This is why I'm trying to give out these sessions for free to everybody. So I encourage you to, to use it. You know, homeopathy is needed more than ever and the more that you can, you know about it. This is why a lot of time as a homeopath like myself, I'm educating a lot of my clients and patients how to use these remedies themselves. I want you to be empowered that you can look after your, your own health, the health of your family, especially in acute, acute conditions, more chronic conditions. I'd say go see a qualified practitioner, but there's a lot of things you can do in the home and in order to do with everyday things that happen, bumps and bruises, you know, whatever, you know, cuts and grazes, you know, cystitis. I mean, we're going to have a session of cystitis. So these things that you can use, as I use that analogy, I'm going to repeat it again. It's like a car dashboard. If the oil line flashes, it means there's something wrong in the engine. You just take the bulb out or you just suppress the symptoms. There's still a problem further down. Sorry, there's still a problem in the engine and the car will break down two or three miles down the road. So our job as a homeopath is to go into the engine, fix the problem, and the light will go off by itself. Because these symptoms we have are just the body's way of expressing to us that there's something, something we need to look at. You know, it's an external manifestation of an internal state. So, so what we got to do is listen to the body because the body contains all the natural healing wisdom that we're ever going to need. And, and you have it. We all have it. We all have it. So my job is to keep reminding you that, that we have it, that we have it all. So hope that was okay. I hope you enjoyed that. Thank you so much. So take care of yourself. May the vital force be with you all. And happy prescribing. Okay? Happy prescribing. Thank you. Bye bye.
