Whether you're dealing with everyday ailments such as coughs, colds, strains and sprains, sore throats, or just seeking to enhance your health and well being, this podcast is your guide. So let's dive in and discover the transformative power of homeopathy in your everyday life. So today we're going to be doing Homeopathy for Holidays, the top homeopathic remedies to pack with you when you go on holiday. So let's look at some of the remedies. So there's going to be different issues, different conditions I'm going to go through. The first one I want to discuss is looking at the effects of the sun. So for a lot of people, again, I said in the UK or, you know, we don't get that much sun. So when we go on holiday somewhere a lot hotter to get that sun, often it can be quite intense for people and that can happen for a lot of people. So we see this a lot effects from the sun. So the first remedy I want to talk about is belladonna. So belladonna is a great remedy, especially when people get headaches or like the effects of sunstroke or too much sun. And often they'll get a congestive headache with a red face, with a rush of blood to their head. Often with belladonna, these headaches, they'll come on suddenly. Like they can come suddenly and go suddenly. But often there's pain with fullness in the forehead and the head feels swollen and it's throbbing. And this heat and this hammering pain in the temples, normally worse on the right side. This is keynotes of belladonna. And often it's like they'll stand up and all of a sudden all the blood rushes to the head and it's pounding and pounding and pounding. Very big keynote of belladonna. And usually can start around late afternoon. So they may have been out in the sunshine, you know, maybe on the beach, wherever they are, you're walking around. And then this headache will normally come on late afternoon and continues into the night. Okay. And with belladonna always. It's worse for noise, worse for light, worse for jarring. When you have these headaches, that is worse for any motion at all, any movement at all, or if you jar them suddenly, better for pressure. Okay, better for pressure. But the keynote with belladonna is if they sit back, the better for having the head slightly bent backwards. Okay, they can crave lemons, big again of belladonna or lemonade or lemon juice, like in water, and often thirsty for cold water. So belladonna, big, big remedy from the effects of sun, especially headaches or those sun stroke type symptoms. The next one is glonine. This is a big remedy, again similar to belladonna, but much, much, much more severe. This is where they'll get a flushed face with throbbing and bursting headache from too much sun. And often people may need this remedy if they've never been well since having too much sun. These headaches come back periodically. And they say, I've never been well since I was in the sun, I was somewhere and it was very hot and I had too much sun. I've never felt well since. Well, this could be a good remedy for more of a chronic thing. But when they get these headaches, it, it feels like the head is full, as though it's going to burst. Okay, big keynote of gluttony. It's always going to burst, it's going to explode. And they have this sensation the blood is surging backwards and forwards, back and forth, back and forth. And they have waves of terrible pounding pain with a heavy head, but they can't lay down the pillow. The worse for that, they get throbbing in the temples and they get flashes of lights. Often this can be flashes of light in front of their eyes. So a lot of visual stuff with this remedy. Worse for walking, so worse for any movement, worse for heat, worse for hot weather, better for cold applications, better for elevating the head, having the head high, and also for being still. And you'll see here as well with this picture what a typical gliding person will do. They will sit with their head in their hands and they'll be speaking to you, talking to you, but they won't be able to move their head. They're trying to keep it as still as possible because it is so painful and as I said, very similar to belladonna, but much more severe. Okay, it has the throbbing, it has that sensation, but it's much more severe. As I said, it feels like the head will burst. That painful. Next remedy for ill effects of the sun is Natum muir. Okay, Natmya this is where they get bursting, blinding headaches as if a thousand little hammers were knocking on the brain. They felt like a thousand little hammers knocking on the brain. Pain over the eyes, top of the head again with visual disturbances and sensitivity to light. Very photophobic. Very, very photophobic. And often they'll get headaches from the heat of the sun. They natmuir really has ill effects of the sun. So they may feel tired and weak and exhausted after being in the sun. Will develop headaches in the sun. Can develop blotchy hive like rash that itches and burns from the sun. So they have many things from the sun symptoms like sun rash, can get cold sores from the sun, sneeze in the sunshine. Hay fever symptoms come in the sunshine. So they have a really big effect with nature mule. So they have a very strong thirst and often can have a craving for salt. And the worst from waking or from sunrise to sunset. Okay, I'm going to keynote, which I haven't put in the presentation, but can be worse around 10am as well. Better for sleep, better for pressure. Again, better with lying with the head high and sitting still. But nature Muir is a big remedy from the ill effects of the sun, especially if people are a nature Muir type person. Okay, let's look at sunburn. Okay, so sunburn, big, big issue with people. I've just got sunburnt when I went on holiday. I always forget to put cream on and I always think my Spanish heritage, I'm not going to get burnt, but I got burnt. So belladonna again, here it comes again, this remedy. You'll see these remedies here. If you look at the videos, they've come up again and again and again. These are big, what we call Polycrest remedies. Remedies that have many, many uses. So with belladonna, if you think about belladonna fever, this is the same in sunburn. It's sunburn with dry, hot, bright red skin. You can feel it radiating off them, the heat. And they have burning pains. And again keynote, throbbing pains with the sunburn. And if you've ever had sunburn, you know what it's like. It can be extremely uncomfortable, painful. So as I said, they radiate heat, have this throbbing and pulsating headache as well. So they could have the headache with the sunburn as we just talked about with the headache from overexposure to the sun. And usually with the sunburn, we'll start to really feel bad around late afternoon and continues into the night. And it's Worse touch, worse jarring, worse being heated. Okay, so it's very painful. Worse for any touch or for being heated. They crave lemons, they crave lemonade again, as I've mentioned before, and thirsty for cold water. But this is a huge, huge remedy for sunburn. Next remedy, Cantharis. Now this is a deeper sunburn. This is where the. It's extremely painful with a strong burning sensation. This is the keynote for Cantharis. If you watch the videos I did on cystitis, big remedy for cystitis, a burning sensation and stinging pain. And the skin is red and hot and often it can blister. Okay, it can blister from the sunburn and it feels like it's on fire. Very, very intense symptoms with Cantharis. So big burn remedy anyway, not just from sunburn. Very, very, very. One of the number one burn remedies. And often the small vesicles that can blister coalesce to form larger blisters. Again with burning pain, smarting and swelling. Better for cold application. So remember when you look at these, what makes things better or worse with the remedies, these modalities, very important because what it does, you can differentiate between the remedies, which ones to give. So this is better for cold application, but as soon as you remove it, the cold application, the pain comes back. So they've got to constantly have a cold application on there. Again, worse touch, worse drinking cold water. Again, strange around, peculiar symptoms. They feel worse from that. So Cantharis, great remedy for sunburn. And here's an unfortunate chap here who's been out on the beat and been sunburn with his red face and his back urtica urines. A great remedy, great remedy. This is a big remedy again for sunburn with intense itching, burning and stinging. And with urtica urines, they can have redness or raised red blotches. Get a lot of vesicles and burning, stinging pain every time they move any movement. Worse for touch, worse for water. Cool bathing, opposite to Cantharis, which was better for cool urticure is worse for cool bathing. Worse after sleep, the sunburn. Now you can get urticura urine as a gel. You can get it as a cream as well. It's made from nettle. Nettle. So you can make a dilution of nettles and dilute it like a. But you can get it as a gel, you can get it as a cream and you can get it combined with calendula as well, which is very, very soothing. Very, very soothing. You could even use calendula similar to Cantharis. But you need to compare and look at the differences. Okay, look at the differences. As I mentioned, one was about what makes it better, what makes it worse. And then calendula cream or calendula ointment. You can also get this in tincture, especially if you put it into some warm water and you can put it on and bathy area and it reduces inflammation. Okay. And stops any. Clears any infection, if there is any. And it's always good to have in the first aid box, calendula cream anyway. So like you said, you can use it as a cream, as a gel or get it combined with hypericum and called Hypercal. We always carry in our family, always carry calendula with us, always carry hypercal with us because it's always needed for things. But this can really help as a topical, as a topical cream or ointment to help soothe it. Also you can use, I put in here aloe vera. And aloe vera is known as the burn plant. And if you've got actually aloe vera, you can get it as a gel again or get some aloe vera leaf. I mean, I remember once being in Trinidad and getting very badly burnt on my back and I talked to one of the locals and we were just chatting and he chopped some aloe vera, the big aloe vera plants that were growing and put the gel and spit it on my back and it was instantaneous. So aloe vera is also really, really good for sunburn and help to soothe it. Another remedy is the remedy Sol. Okay, again, you can get this from the homeopathic pharmacies. You probably won't get this over the counter in health food stores, but this can be used before going out into the strong sun. And this remedy is really good for people who are sensitive to sunlight who easily burn. Okay. If they've got an ova. Your skin may be very predisposed getting burned, but it's people who are worse than sensitive to sunlight. So you can take it before you go out in the sun, whilst you're out in the sun and after as well. And with Sol, they can get itching red skin, red blotches from the sunlight. Also they get painful eyes or photophobia from the sunlight. They get blurry vision with a headache. And they can get headache if the top of their head, especially if there's no hair there. If people are bald here and there's no hair, very sensitive to the sun here, top of the head, very painful and get a lot of violent like Headache from the top of the head, the vertex, all the way to the forehead here. So really good remedy for that. Any headache on a bare head. Again, think of children as well. If children get that better for pressure, the headaches, better for cold application, better for short naps. But these are good for people. Never been well since sunstroke, never been well since sunburnt. People will say, I've just never been well since the holiday I had and I got really bad sunburn. My skin's never been the same. But you can take it prophylactically before you get out into the sun. Okay, let's moving on. So let's look at travel sickness. So this is very, very common. Again, you. Have you got kids or people? I remember being a kid getting a lot of travel sickness, especially in cars. Well, homeopathy is so good for this. So the first remedy, number one remedy I think for motion sickness or any type of car sickness or seasickness or is coculus. And this can be often car sickness from reading books. Like you sat in the car and you're reading a book or reading a map or a lot of people don't have maps anymore. They use sat in that. But we have it with our kids. If they're reading in the back and they go, I feel sick. I look out the window and they look at the windows, they'll feel sick. Because often with cockiness, they can feel sick by looking out the window, looking at moving objects going past. So it doesn't help them, oh, don't be steady. Look at the horizon. But it can make them worse. But coculus is a great remedy for that. It's great remedy for car sickness or being sick. And often they can have dizziness with nausea and vomiting, can feel faint and almost pass out. And they have this really deathly nausea. The thought or smell of food. They just want to. It's just like, oh my. Even the thought of it. And with this nausea, then this metallic taste in the mouth, weird metal y taste in the mouth. Also can have a headache with it as well. This is quite common with the sickness. With the motion sickness, you have a headache and they can't lie on the back of the head. And that back of the head, they say strange, rare and peculiar symptom. Feels like it's opening and shutting at the back, opening shoes. But they can't put any lie down on the back of their head. And they also have another strange, rare, peculiar symptom of they feel hollow, their head feels hollow, they feel hollow inside. The stomach feels hollow and empty. Really strange sensation. But that's a keynote for coculus. Remember you don't need to have all of these symptoms. You want some three, what I call the three legged stool. Three major these symptoms worse loss of sleep. Now remember, this is a remedy that is for loss of sleep. If you know people have been traveling and we'll talk about this later so often and then they have the motion sickness with it as well. So the worst for loss of sleep, worse for eating, worse exertion, worse bending over, worse cold open air, better sitting, being quiet in a warm room, they feel better. This want to be left alone. They want to be left alone. Number one remedy, great remedy, got to be with you when you travel. Next remedy is tobacco. Now with tobacco here people will get a sudden loss of energy. Goes very pale or green.
