Have you ever thought about the impact of hearing loss? One of the biggest factors is social isolation. It also leads to so many of the other things that we know happen with hearing loss. One of those can be depression, it can be loneliness, it can be so much that impacts our overall mental health and quality of life. So with hearing loss, oftentimes people will go to a restaurant or a group or maybe a party and they feel like they're alone. In a crowded room, this huge group of people, you'd think they'd feel like they were part of something just being there. But ultimately, if you're feeling like you're alone because you're not a part of anything going on, it creates this huge barrier between you and the world. Everybody wants to feel like they're part of something bigger, and being that they're part of the bigger cause or the bigger group or the bigger celebration, and hearing loss can put that wall in between them so that they feel like they're all alone.
