You may ask, "How long do hearing aids last?" The short answer is about 5 to 7 years. But how long do you wait before you get a new hearing aid? Now, if you're tiptoeing towards that 5 to 7 year range, you're probably getting a new hearing aid. That's more due to wear and tear and that kind of thing. But what we do know is that about every 3 to 5 years, you will see a jump or a change in technology. So you'll see some interim changes in between, but usually sometime around there you'll see something that was a major game changer, something that's a big deal, a big advancement, and something that may be worth you looking into it. Talk to your hearing care professional about what it is that is a dream list of what a hearing aid can do for me, and then determine, do those features make sense for you to go ahead and get something new now or not?
