Use it or lose it. How does this apply to hearing health? Well, our brain actually needs to be stimulated to remember how to work in the best way. What ends up happening over the long term is that our brain can start to almost forget how to work with sound. When we put a hearing aid in, the brain gets some information back, but will it remember how to use it? The longer you wait to get hearing aids, the much less likely we're gonna see those extremely positive and successful results. Your success with hearing aids is critical on when you started wearing them. The earlier you have intervention, the more likely you are to have usable hearing the rest of your life. Even if hearing loss gets worse, your brain's ability to use that sound to understand speech will still be maintained. The longer you wait, much less likely to see those positive results and also much less likely to see that success that you see with others with hearing aids.
