Why do hearing aids itch when you first get them? That's because you're lightly touching the ear. So essentially, a lot of people get worried and saying, "Well, am I allergic to my hearing aid?" No, usually not. Very, very rare for you to be allergic, but it's okay for it to itch. Think about when you have a hair on you and you feel that and it starts to make it itch. That's because it's something lightly touching your skin and it creates that sensation. The more you wear the hearing aid, the more that that will basically just lessen. You get used to it. It's just how life works is that we get used to anything that we have to put on our body. If you wear a ring, for example, and you say, "Well, I couldn't get used to it," and then after a while you forget that it's there, very, very normal, very typical as far as being able to adjust to the feeling of something.
