An All in One Company For Factoring, Fuel Cards, Capital, and More

This is a recorded interview (YouTube) where Hunter Nelson (Nellis Insurance) interviews Heidi Beyer (regional business development manager) of Aladdin Capital about Aladdin’s transportation-services offering. Aladdin is presented as a family-owned Sioux Falls, SD company with ~40 years in the industry that provides factoring, compliance (ELD/ISS/CSA support), financing/lease-purchase for trucks and trailers (nationwide), fuel cards with a portal and network, dispatching referrals, and related services. Key operational claims in the transcript: Aladdin funds invoices typically within 24 hours if paperwork is submitted by 12:00 PM Central; the fuel-card partner has ~3,000 truck stops (TA, Petro, Speedway) and advertised discounts (about $1.00 off per gallon at TA/Petro); the fuel-card program includes a credit line (about $2,000/week per unit) usable for fuel and maintenance; a cash card/instant-pay option can deliver funds instantly or via overnight/ACH; one cited success story: a client’s ISS score fell from ~85 to ~45 in ~6 months, which Hunter says saved that client approximately $180,000 on an insurance renewal. Heidi’s contact info is shared near the end of the video.

With Nelson Insurance. What I'm going to show you guys here is a video I just had with Aladdin Capital. And what they do is they're going to be doing factoring your fuel card, your everything. I'm going to get more into it. Throughout this meeting you guys will see this interaction between us. And I just want you guys know why I chose Aladdin. Aladdin is the company I decided to do a video with just because before I even knew who they were, they actually helped one of my clients saved $180,000 on their insurance because of the compliance team and the safety team that Aladdin came in with. So when I say, you know what, what you're about to hear Heidi say, I really think means a lot because this stuff does help you guys and especially if you guys are new ventures. If you guys insurance annuing, assumed, whatever the case is. I know you truckers are getting blown up with phone calls. I mean I, I hear people telling me it's $30, 30 calls a day. I couldn't imagine what it's like to go get your MC number. Okay, so these guys will go out here and do every all in one for you. The other thing Heidi wanted me to mention here was that Aladdin does have a portal for all this. They've got an account, they make it super slick and easy to go get your factoring money to get all that sort of stuff and just or to get your money, you know, factored way quicker. So they do within 24 hours. And you guys will hear this. So just kind of hear this thing out. Let me know if you guys get any questions on if you guys want to reach out to Aladdin. I can give you the contact information, all that stuff. Let's be in the description below. But just want to give an introduction to this thing. So I'll go and play this here. Now here's the meeting I had with Heidi at Aladdin.
All right. Heidi, how are you doing?
Hey, how are you doing Hunter?
Good. Well, hey guys, I'm, I'm Hunter with Nellis Insurance and I've got Heidi Beyer here with Aladdin and just going to kind of go over what Aladdin's all got to offer. I mean you guys are doing factoring, compliance, financing, if does, I mean fuel cards. The list goes on and on there. You want to tell me a little about yourself and Aladdin?
Well, Aladdin is a company that's been in business in transportation, family owned and operated out of Sioux Falls, South Dakota over the last 40 years. And we are just. We, we. We are a terrific organization. And I've been with the company now I'm into my seventh year and I'm a regional business development manager. So my role is bringing in the business. My role is managing the accounts. My role is really making sure that our clients are satisfied and they feel as if that they are getting the best bang for their buck, if you will. The best service, the best in our industry and really being taken care of. What I love about our company is that we're here for the long haul, no pun intended. So really the goal is just to be able to be a resource to, for our customer, for our client. So loyalty is a big part of how we continue to succeed and really thrive. And we listen to our customer. So it's super important just to make sure that people feel as if that they are being heard, that they're being respected, that we are giving them the proper information that they need in order to run their business. Because these are by and large small business owners and, or those business owners that are larger, who do have fleets of trucks. It gives them the capability to be able to reach out to somebody who really is an expert in the field in finance and transportation and give them an opportunity to find ways to, you know, expand their business.
Yep. Yo.
No, I mean that's, that's great. And, and Aladdin's a big name here in the Midwest. I mean, I see them all the time, the South Dakota Trucking association and all that, but you guys are a big company. But it feels like it's a lot more kind of like a, like a family owned deal or locally owned and a lot more hands on, I would say. Sound about right?
Yeah, I think that's what separates us. At least that's what I get from my clients, is that they feel a lot more attended to and that they are. They know that they can reach out and really receive some response back as to any of their questions they may have, which are, you know, which really can be quite a few, especially if somebody is newer. As a newer owner, there's a lot of, you know, just kind of hand holding that we really try to do to make sure that somebody feels comfortable and, and, and that they have the. All the knowledge and everything behind what it takes to run the business successfully so that they hopefully can have some longevity in our industry.
Yo. Yep.
And how, how long has Aladdin been around for?
So the owners have been in the industry for, for 40 years.
Yeah.
And so the key here is, is that we've grown, you Know as we have become more interested in other factions of how we can be of service to, to clients, our customers. Now we do, you know, I manage with the factoring part of the business. We have others that do similar to what I do at the company. And then we have finance, we do lease purchase programs with financing of trucks and trailers, which is a huge part of our company. And we do this not just in South Dakota, but we do this nationwide. Yo and then we have relationships with, with dealers and whatnot. So, so people will get approved and then they may bring us equipment to finance or we can actually find equipment for them to finance. Everything is done within, you know, usually it's about within a five year period of time if they're looking for a truck or a trailer or six years on a, on a trailer. But the key here is, is that we have the capability and the interest and really the client making sure that they can get the best possible bang for their buck, the best possible deal that's on the marketplace. We also do not only the factoring and the financing, but we have a department in the company which deals specifically with compliance, ELD and helping clients get set up. And they really, they do a wonderful job. Everyone has a, just a great attitude and personality and you know, the interest is really to build so that we can segue the client from, you know, getting their authority set up and then putting them into a truck and, and then doing their factoring and, and, and, and other types of resources that we can offer. In fact, one of the things that I do with my clients is I help to refer them to insurance folks just like yourself. So it's important that we have these relationships. There's also dispatching in our industry which is very important. People want to feel like they have a place where they can go, where they can have someone help them booking loads because this is something very important for their continuity and not having any downtime. So it's hard for them to look on the load board and book a deal, especially if they're a newer authority. Sometimes it takes a good three to six months or it could be even longer to really get into, you know, the, the, the business and making sure that they have some continuity and fluidity and being successful.
Yeah, it's, that's exactly right. I mean, shoot, working with you guys and just looking at the website and everything you guys are doing everything. I mean it's, it's the factor in compliance. I've even got a story on, on how the compliance helped one of our clients really Excuse me. Yeah, but when you guys are. When. So when somebody's getting their new authority, I mean, you guys can really do everything. You got the fuel card, you got the compliance clients. You guys get the factoring set up. Yeah, absolutely. 60 to 90 days can be a nightmare.
Tell us your story. Tell us a story that you have.
Yeah, so we actually had a client, you guys had a partnership with one of our insurance companies, and he was hauling livestock, and so they wouldn't do it, sent him over to us, and he had some claims in the last couple years. So his insurance renewal went up quite a bit. And then he said within about the last six months or so, reach out to Aladdin and his ISS score, which, you know is. The ISS score is part of the cab. It's how they're rating all your CSA score. And his ISS score is about 85, with 100 being the worst on it. And after about six months of working with you guys, get it down to a 45. And he was.
Wow.
The last year. And so with that, it saved him $180,000 on his insurance renewal.
No.
Yeah. Just working with you.
Oh, my God. That's a huge success story.
Yeah.
Wow. Yo, that's wonderful.
Yeah.
And that's just one of the. One of the services you guys did. And so, I mean, put 180 grand back in his pocket from after the renewal on the. Just the insurance side. And, you know, you go from an 85 ISS, he's getting less inspections. Brokers are easier to work with. He's not getting so much pressure from the FMCSA or the dots, so.
Oh, that was pretty great.
Wow, that's really amazing.
Yeah.
What a wonderful story.
Yeah, no kidding.
Great.
Yeah. So that was. Yeah, that was a huge help.
That's cool. That's so cool. Thank you so much for sharing.
Yeah, of course. And then with. With new guys getting into it, I mean, there are so many. So many people out there who are calling these guys. I mean, I talk to people who, when their renewals coming up, they'll get 15, 20, 30 calls a day. And so not a single truck ever talked to is like, oh, yeah, I'm happy to get a million calls a day, but if they find one just like you guys, who offers everything to get them started, especially even you guys got insurance partnerships and everything, they can.
Just come to you.
Right. Just. And have be done with all the phone calls.
That is a great point. And that's exactly why we have set up the company so that we can accommodate one thing after Another and keep it really streamlined and organized for their, you know, for their, for their kind of peace of mind.
Yeah.
And also just out of. Most of the people that I work with are referral based. So it's kind of, it's just like that. So when you have a nice rapport with somebody in a, let's say, in our compliance department and dealing with those guys, it's like you just, you just know that that's a good representation of all of our departments. So that then after that we can turn them on to, let's say, let's say with me, with the factoring, when we get, you know, the client comes over to us, boy, it's like. Yeah, I mean, they already feel comfortable. They already feel like they've already, you know, kind of worked with us. So they have a nice, A nice, just a good, A good kind of a reference point to be able to know that we are here to take care of them. So there's just a really good, you know, just a nice synergy throughout the company. And we all feel the same way. I mean, we all care about our business. We all do. Every employee that works with the company, we care to make sure that the client is dealt with in the most professional manner, in the most, with the highest level of. We want to give the client the confidence that they don't need to go anywhere. That's really what the hope is. The whole point is again, you know, there are some wonderful companies out there that do that, do what we do. And I know, like what you were saying, in South Dakota, there are not so many companies, so much competition, but the key here is, is, is that, you know, we deal with clients all across the country. And the fact is that we have the same sort of feeling that many people in Sioux Falls and South Dakota feel about us, that it's actually trickled into the lower 48, if you will, you know, into all the. Across the country. Because there are people, you know, located in, in almost every state that is doing some sort of business with us. I mean, it's like a real blessing, if you will, because it's really one person at a time. So I, you know, I've always had the feeling when I'm, when I'm dealing with my client, I always want to make sure that we're spreading as much positivity, encouragement with the clients so that they can really have the best opportunity to do the best they can. And look, what's so great is that, you know, we're human. We're all human. Beings at the company. And you know, people do the best they can on a daily basis. Nobody is 100%. But the key is it's about the intentionality. It's about what you put forth. It's you know, the representation to make sure that somebody knows that we do really care about them and we really are doing the best we can to, you know, provide them with the service at the least amount that is that we can, you know, that we, that we can charge. But, but I think the key is it has to be set up as a win win. If it's not a win win where the. They win as the client, as the carrier. We win as their, you know, part of their executive team, part of their service organization that helps them to get their money, get funded and run their business on a daily basis. You know, I mean the key is that everyone has to make out. And I always try to explain that to clients if they know that we're here as backing them up to protect them, to provide them the best opportunity to, you know, to, to really have as little issues in the market as possible. I mean that's really the key here as a. Expanding the company. Their desire to make money. And also, you know, that, that that desire is translated to anybody that's working with them and I think, you know, when you share share with people like that, they really, you know, it's a team effort. They really feel, you know, they're happy that they're part of a, you know, a terrific team.
Yo.
No, that's exactly right. And you get, you got just, just the sake for ease of use too. You got all in one. Yeah, like I was saying, it feels just like a, like a family owned company. So that's good. It's not some huge corporate deal. And I mean on top of it too, if they're a new venture, you guys have a, have a packet for. Here's just kind of a way to start your. Start your trucking company. So I mean got the sake of all one, got the, got the resources there to help them build it. One thing I see a lot is a lot of people are doing factoring and factoring fuel cards. Those are a lot, right? Like popular. What a lot of companies are getting into.
So can you tell me a little.
Bit about like what you guys have there? What sets you guys apart?
Absolutely. In fact we have, as I was mentioning before we got on the broadcast, we actually have a new partnership that was solidified in the last month and they are just terrific. You know, in fact we were Part of a meeting. And we saw their portal and the ca. They. The. The fuel card itself. I was really, I was. I couldn't believe that I was, you know, that they were at TA Petro. So there's over, I think three, about 3,000 truck stops in the network. And they deal with TA Petro Speedway. And then when you go into the portal, they actually have. If you put in your destination, they show you along the route all of the truck stops, no matter if it's in the network or not, it tells you what the pricing is in the particular network, which is free. And the key here is that we have the fuel card and as a means to offer, you know, yet another service but. But offer some, you know, just kind of benefits to, you know, to saving money. And I could not believe they gave about a dollar off at the TA Petro.
Holy crap.
Yeah, per. Per gallon. I thought that was really. That was outstanding. So not only does the fuel card allow for some terrific discounts and it, you know, it's free from, from, you know, when we. We give. The car comes out to the client. Goes out to the client. They also with the partnership, they offer $2,000 a week per unit of credit line that can be used not just on fuel, but, but can be used on maintenance and. And other. And other options, you know, at the truck stop and whatnot. So I thought that was. I mean, I think that's terrific, you know, in knowing. Knowing the market. It's an excellent, it's an excellent advantage for, for the client. And then we just started offering, and this is with the same company, it's a cash card so that the client can actually get paid instantly. Once they're funded, they can have the money sent to their bank account. It's very similar to Zelle or Venmo for the transportation industry. It's really terrific. I mean, it's very now. It's very what's happening now. And. Or if they don't want to have it instantly sent to the client's account, they can have it requested overnight. Similar to an ACH Direct deposit.
Yep.
So we do funding Monday through Monday through Friday. But more than likely most of the banks actually, if you have. If you send in your invoices on Friday to be paid, the invoices typically are paid out on Monday just because of the bank, you know, communication, if you will.
Yo.
Definitely like quicker than.
60 to 90 days.
So.
Yes.
But typically you're saying within about 24 hours people are usually seeing their funding.
Yes, within 24 hours. That's what we, that's what we share with our clients. As long as they get their paperwork in, which is their. The bill of lading, the rate confirmation. Both of those, both of those documents are the documents that we utilize to verify the load in order to be paid out. And so as long as the paperwork is in by 12 o' clock central, which is, you know, 1 o' clock on the east coast, and then it is, it's about 10 o' clock Pacific time. As long as it is in by the, our, our deadline at 12 o', clock, then they will be funded overnight. And then we have fees which we go over with the client that's associated with our ach. We have fees that's associated, of course with the account. So everything is, you know, we're very fair. We tend to try to be. We not try to be, but I find that we're. Our pricing happens to be a little lower than, than most of the years. Most of the factor. We're actually, I feel like I want to, I don't want to say, oh, we're, you know, it's not about being to me. I always tell people, you know, you can always find things cheaper anywhere you go. But the key is, I think our pricing is less than I feel than most of the factoring companies in the country.
Yeah.
We're also members of the IFA for factoring, which is the International Factoring Association. So we follow, we practice certain ethical making sure that we have. We follow the practices that are laid out by the ifa, which is important for people to know because they, they want to feel safe and they want to feel protected and they want to feel somebody has their back.
Yep, yep.
No, that's great.
And plus you guys got the app.
For factoring, which makes things really easy. The fuel card is, is great. I mean, 3,000 locations a dollar off is pretty nuts. I don't know hardly anybody else doing that. We just talked about compliance. I mean, on 100 saved. I mean the first person we talked to on it saved them 180 grand on their insurance. You guys doing if does all that stuff. I mean, it's pretty great there. And then even like the. You guys do at least a purchase on the financing and that's, that's a pretty good chunk of what you guys are doing, right? Is the, is the capital side.
Yes, absolutely. 100% awesome.
Well, yeah, if people. We got to get this thing wrapped.
Up here a little bit. But if people want to reach out to Aladdin and want to get started, how how should they do that?
