Hunter Nelson provides practical advice for trucking companies on how to shop for insurance. He emphasizes that a knowledgeable trucking insurance agent should proactively reshop policies well before renewal (typically 60–90 days out) so filings, loss runs, and down payments can be prepared in time; reshop attempts only two weeks before renewal are criticized as inadequate.
