Hunter Nelson (speaker) explains why businesses need pollution coverage, emphasizing that exposures exist even for non-hazardous cargo. He gives concrete examples — diesel spills from vehicle accidents and melted ice cream contaminating soil — and notes municipalities may order cleanup, so broad pollution policies can protect against such liabilities.

And a lot of people don't even realize all the exposures they have a pollution. Some of the perks of these guys like I mentioned here, these guys have some of the broadest pollution coverage out there. You're going to be covered in all that aspects. Even if you're not hauling something that's hazardous like a tanker, whatever the case is, you're still going to want pollution coverage because if your truck tips over, gets into an accident, diesel spills out, you can still be sued like for that like crazy. A lot of people don't even realize all the exposures to have a pollution. I've got a guy hauling ice cream and he has pollution coverage because if he gets an accident the ice cream hops out there is on the road or out in the grass, whatever the case is, it's going to melt and then it's going to get in the ground and he's going to be ordered by the city to go clean that up.
