A short YouTube monologue (James Blackwell, Feb 2023) offering practical entrepreneurship advice: keep company size small—under £2M or fewer than 13 employees—to preserve simplicity, freedom, and avoid ego-driven growth. Emphasizes doing more with less, delaying hires/managers, and minimizing systems to reduce complexity.
I'm going to share with you. Everything has helped me get to being a multimillionaire. That's only happened over the last two years, where it's really, really taken off. The first thing, if you want a nice life with freedom and the ability to take holidays and don't want to go big to feed your ego, then keep your company below 2 million or under 13 employees. Because as you grow, you'll get a lot more challenges. And as you scale, things get more bigger, they get more complex. So I always try and keep things simple. Can we do more with less? Do we need to hire that other employee? Do we need to add this system or tool in? So you always want to make sure that you're not taking on a manager, for instance, too soon and all of those type of things, because that's like just an ego driven mentality.
