A short YouTube monologue (October 2019) by an entrepreneur describing a phone-minimizing, distraction-reducing morning routine. Key steps: removing the phone from the bedroom and using a physical alarm clock, meditating, walking the dog (without the phone) for about 30 minutes for thinking time, making a nutrient-rich breakfast smoothie, then spending 20–30 minutes on reading or watching business/personal-development videos before entering the office with a prepared day plan.
So important thing I did as well. I never check my phone anymore. So I have my phone, I've changed, I bought a proper alarm clock and I've took the phone out of the bedroom, so that's away on charge downstairs. So I don't touch the phone from normally around about half eight, nine o' clock at night and I don't touch it in the morning when I get up. So first thing I do is meditate. First take Kobe for a walk, but I don't take the phone with me. So I'll have a nice. It's normally about a half an hour walk and it's thinking time all of the time because you get so many thoughts in your brain, you want to have a clear focus for the day and start that day off well. Then I'll get back, I'll make a healthy breakfast smoothie with all the great nutrients in as well. And then I'll spend probably 20 minutes, half an hour either reading a book or I'll watch either a YouTube video round about business, personal development, something like that, because I enjoy doing that. And then obviously I'll come into the office, but by the time I get in the office I've got my day plan ready and I'm ready for the day as well.
