Hello, everybody. James Blackwell here. And in today's video, I wanted to share what I've learned scaling my recruitment agency to seven figures. So the first thing is, scaling a business is gonna be the scariest thing you're ever gonna do in your life, and it's gonna place you in extremely uncomfortable positions. The second thing is, like, scaling your business doesn't mean you need to hustle all of the time. So I figured this out quite early on of, like, working smart instead of hard. And sometimes you actually need to slow down to speed up. Because we see all of these overnight successes on Instagram and social media, we think necessarily that we need to be successful, like right now, like yesterday, when really it's all about slowing down to speed up. So that comes into social media like, it's a complete distraction. So I don't have Facebook, even Instagram. Like, I limit, like, 15 minutes a day on it, if that. Like, realistically, I don't even spend that much time because I deleted all social media pretty much apart from that, because it's a complete distraction and it causes you to procrastinate a lot and not really do the hard work that you need to within your business. The fourth thing, that you're way less productive than you actually think you are. And if you try and take off, say, seven days in your business, you'll soon realize that you can still get everything else done within that time. So making sure that you actually do the work necessarily, but you don't necessarily need to do it like 40, 50, 60 hours a week, you can really trim that down when you actually focus on what actually moves the needle and gets results. The fifth thing is, like, if you give your team full autonomy and trust and freedom, along with the right tools and the right business foundations and the correct environment, they will work magic for you. Do not underestimate how powerful that will be. I am so blessed and lucky to have a real great team of 12 employees with my agency. And each and every one of them are massive value to Ronald, James and business. And I couldn't have got to where I've got to today without them. But that's because I gave the team autonomy, freedom, the ability for them to make mistakes. But giving them the right tools and environment is key. The sixth thing is the faster you wish to grow your agency, the more mistakes you'll be and you'll make. So you end up wasting more money. I wasted at least probably, what, three, four, $500,000, I think, over the last five or six years because I wanted to Go too fast and with the wrong strategy initially. So you've got to make sure the business fundamentals are right of what it is you want out of this business. Because not everyone wants to scale to 100 million and sell the business one day, because that's very, very rare. So making sure you're scaling at the right time and you're not just going fast for the sake of it, just because you've had a few profitable months. The seventh thing is if you want to have like a nice life and freedom and the ability to take holidays where you want. As you can see, I'm here in Dubai at the moment, so I've like been here for the last couple of months working from here, but also like enjoying the freedom. And like, if you want to have the freedom and you want to have those nice holidays, like, make sure that you keep your business or your company below what I would say maybe $2 million or under 13 employees, which is the magic number. Because the number of challenges you're gonna have as you scale beyond that is just gonna get more and more complex and it's gonna take more and more your time, more and more stress. So if you want a less complex business, highly profitable, highly leveraged, and to give you the freedom and lifestyle that you truly want, two to three million dollars under 13 employees. Eight things. Meditation. So for those of you that know me and have followed me throughout this journey, meditation is key. So I meditate every single day and that's really gave me a lot more, well become like a lot more rounded individual. Really grounded me and really helped my spiritual being and growth. And I think every business owner should meditate. The ninth thing is be comfortable being uncomfortable because times of COVID and everything else, there's always going to be uncertainty. And the more it will test you in your life and business. So make sure you're comfortable being uncomfortable. And finally, the tenth thing is the more time that you spend working on yourself like personal development, the more you will grow. So investing in self development and your own growth is being the best investment I've made and that will help your business grow faster than the next shiniest tool or new little hack that you can do with your business. Surrounding yourself with the right type of mentors, attending the right masterminds, and being surrounded with the right type of peer group will help elevate your success a lot more quicker than, like I said, the next big tool or the biggest hack.
