Hi, entrepreneur James here. I'm the founder of the Million Pound Lifestyle recruitment program and also CEO of Ronald James Recruitment Agency. So today I just wanted to share with you a little bit more about how I've created a lifestyle within my recruitment business. A lot of recruitment business owners who are tired, frustrated have come to me and said, James, how have you managed to build a business that is sustainable, that has still got growth, you're still winning new business, bringing in money, but also working less hours. So I just really wanted to share with you a couple of insights into how I've done that and why. I think it's important that most entrepreneurs that set up in business, they all look for the same things, which are freedom, lifestyle and money. So everyone has maybe worked in a recruitment business in the past and then decided to start up on their own. They know it's very challenging. I've been in your shoes as well, and I'm sure it's a risky process and very daunting at the start, but as you start to build systems and pillars within your business. So a little bit about how Michael Gerber discusses in his book E Myth. He always talks about how to build a franchise, McDonald's type of franchise business, and how you should always document and systemize everything. And that's one of the key tips that I did when I built my lifestyle recruitment business. I documented everything from day one. So any task that is done more than once by yourself would always make sure that I documented that, captured a video, a screenshot, and created a step by step formula for that so we could hand that off into the virtual team. So that's the first thing is making sure you document and process everything. The second part is actually building a virtual team. So I made sure that, yes, I wanted to work on the kitchen table at home with my MacBook or might want to go into Starbucks, Caffeineiro or what have you on a on an afternoon and do some work from there. Because I've got a team that's remote. So we use a lot of cool communication tools and cloud the way business works now it's 247 and it's worldwide and you can be connected to anyone within an instance. So we didn't need the traditional bums on seats, big corporate office suits and ties. And that's how a traditional model works. I sort of went the opposite with that. So we have a cool office space, but also we have the flexibility to work from home when we aren't. We want. And we also have remote recruiters and remote administrators, or VAs as you would call them, which I discuss further in my VA ebook. And that really helped with the lifestyle. So I shape my business around what I want in life. Don't get me wrong, I still want to be ultra successful, have a high net worth, be a millionaire and multimillionaire and have all of the trimmings with that. But also what I want is to have the freedom and flexibility to work when I want, where I want and with who I choose. And that's very important. In terms of when you want to build a lifestyle business, it's making sure that you always have those key goals in the back of your mind whenever you're looking to expand in terms of the three quotes that pretty much stand by and how I've built the business as well in terms of lifestyle. You are in a business, remember to build a great life, not applying life to build a huge recruitment business. And I think that gets stuck with a lot of recruitment owners that they think, well my life is the recruitment business. It's not, let's be honest, we only get one life, we want to live it to the maximum. And it's all about having experiences in life. And you can't have many experiences in life if you're stuck in the office 24 7. And I was very frustrated in that. So that's why I've always shaped the business to build a great life. And the business and the recruitment business is a byproduct to get experiences in life and to experience a greater and fulfilling life. And remember that you can always make another pound but you will never be able to make another minute back. And that's another thing that really transcends with me and how I've built the lifestyle recruitment business is I've always been about seeing how I can save time. So how can I buy back a little bit of time? By getting a virtual team to do things by breaking down every individual task that I've done and outsource as many things as possible so that frees me up. So when I have got more time I can be more focusing on the money tasks that will make more money in the business. And then I can start to dilute my hours from the business. So it's self reliant, not just on me. A lot of recruitment business owners, if they walked away tomorrow, they know the probably business would shut down and all hell would break loose. That's what you've got to remember when you're building a business. You want to make sure that it's dependable not on you, but on either staff. But if you don't want staff within business, it's all about having a virtual team and also systems and processes that can work without you. And the final quote, that's a really inspiring quote from a guy called Felix Dennis who wrote the book how to Get Rich. Fantastic book. You should pick it up on Amazon. You can get it secondhand for around about a couple of pounds. And he always talks about he was worth £700 million. He was very lonely, very depressed when he actually built up a fantastic and big magazine publishing business. And he realized that there was more to life than just the money goal. And he always realized that there will always be a bigger yacht. So don't waste your time trying to have the biggest. It's an ego thing, so you don't necessarily need to have the millions and millions in the bank. But if you have a fantastic six to seven figure income a year where you've only worked in 20 to 25 hours a week, you can take Mondays off like me, and you can pick and choose your hours and work when you want and still give a fantastic service to clients and your candidates, then that's the way to go about building a lifestyle business. So hope that resonated with some of you guys. If you want to check out the free webinar that I'm doing, I do that on a Tuesday and Thursday.
