like, have you equated these lies to scripture? Have you found, like, for instance, for "I'm pathetic," have you found any scripture that is the antithesis to that lie that you can use against the enemy when he comes against you?
Yeah, I mean, do I have one off the top of my head, like a verse? I'm not sure, but I think, I don't know, I just, anytime I'm reading the Gospels, man, and you read the words that Christ says, They just move me so much on how he's the Good Shepherd. Yeah. And how, uh, you know, I want to know his name when he speaks, to come to him. And it's taken a lot of time, you know, a lot of work to really get there to where I'm listening for Christ's voice. And I'm actively doing that every day and talking about it, you know, with my close people in my life. Uh, but you know, I think all that God did for the Israelites, uh, you know, through, you know, Abraham initially, I mean, just all of it. I, I think the whole story of the Bible is, is showing how much we are loved. Yeah. Much that, that the Lord, uh, how much, how many good things he wants for us. And really, I think you said it great, and I keep referring to our last podcast. Everyone should go listen to it. It was great. There's a lot of preaching there. Good preaching. Yeah. I think something you said about the Bible, which was really cool, was I think God wants, he desperately wants us to be, um, or what's the word? Uh, dependent. Dependent. That's the word I was going for. Like to be dependent on him. Yeah. And it, to have that dependence, it is a, letting go of the world and of the flesh, the ego. It's like a surrender. Yeah. There's serenity in that. So I don't know. I think with the lies, ultimately for me, it's just acknowledging what the Bible means. And like you said, I think that really struck me was just to be dependent on him. That's something that my recovery coach said. Uh, you know, I do a weekly thing with some guys that we're actually gonna meet in August. For the second year in a row, which is cool, in person. But, he's a pastor up in Chilliwack, Canada. His name is Vern Tompkey. He does the Finding Traction podcast. So, I'd consider him a friend, a mentor, a coach, all of that. But, he was saying that sometimes he'll ask new guys in the congregation that might want to get coffee with him. He's like, "What's your daily dependence on God look like? What are you praying for?" And if they don't really have an answer for that, you know, he's going to be like, okay, well, let's talk more because that should be something in you to where you're praying to God like, God, I need you today. Like, I need you. And sorry, I don't know if I'm going a little off topic of your question. No, that's great. But I think that for me, it erases the lies. And ultimately, I mean, what erases the lies is that Christ died on the cross. He died on the cross for us. He went through the most horrific death for us to wipe the slate clean, to wipe the cloth clean.
