In this segment of the Ableton Live 12 music production class, instructor J. Anthony Allen demonstrates how to use the back and forward buttons in the search panel as a search history tool. He shows that each search (e.g., for a snare or kick sample) is recorded, allowing the user to step backward and forward through recent searches much like a web browser’s history. This feature lets producers quickly revisit previously viewed samples without re‑searching, saving time and streamlining the workflow.
