What's up, everyone? Welcome to Bell Curve, a new show from Blockworks where we explore the most important themes in crypto for folks that are confined like us to the middle of the bell curve. Bell Curve is a two-part show that's broken down into seasons. Each season explores a different thesis. We lay out the thesis for you at the beginning of the season. We explore the thesis over the next several episodes, then we regroup to see what went right and what went wrong. The point is not to predict something exactly right. The point is to take an idea that we both believe in, explicitly outline our thoughts on it, and then figure out how it's evolved throughout the course of an entire season. Season 1 is about fixed rate credit boom. The idea is that the birth of fixed rate borrowing and lending in crypto will kick off this credit boom that catalyzes the next bull cycle. We've broken down the thesis into 3 parts. One, the recent implosion of CeFi will push more financial activity into DeFi. 2, the next wave of DeFi products will be unlocked by fixed-rate lending.
