Your first 50 employees, your first 50, have to be pirates or romantic. They have to be pirates or romantic. These are folks on your team that for reasons that almost don't make sense, live and bleed startups. Right? The ones that know more about your product than you could possibly imagine why. Right? That think that your weird type of compliance product for the dairy industry is the most interesting thing that has ever happened on planet Earth, okay? Um, or these are folks that have never worked in an empowering environment, because if you have under 50, everyone should be an owner. Maybe not a VP or a director, everyone should be an owner. And you can't build— your first 50 people can't be normal people. You'll fail.
