Good morning, good afternoon, good evening. Thank you for taking the time to watch Talking Points live or catching up on the Replay. Each day I've been taking you through the Trends from the 2024 Trends for Breakthrough Success report that I published late last year. And today we're going to be talking about trend number nine, diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. Now, I've actually got a podcast on this very topic coming out very shortly on the next edition of Chats with Jason. But if you want to grab yourself a copy of the Trends report for 2024, you can do so by going to Jason S. Bradshaw.com trends sign up, download the copy of the report and you'll also receive my newsletter every fortnight as it comes out. So so today I wanted to talk to you briefly about trend number nine, diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. Now, this is a very big topic. It's a topic that has evolved over the years, of course, but at its purest, it's about surrounding yourself with people that represent the diversity, the people that you seek to serve. And what I mean by that is that as a business, you will sell to different communities. Therefore, your employees should also reflect that diversity and importantly, be included in the conversations that help shape the business, to help shape the activities of the business, to help shape the way that you serve customers. With every leader that I've interviewed over the years and had the pleasure of working with, the number one thing that they've said to me that has been a differentiator in the speed at which they've had success is the level of diversity that they've had around them. You see, as a leader, your job is not necessarily to be the smartest in the room, but it is to fill the room with people that are diverse of thought that can come together and create the best outcome possible for the business and importantly, the customers. You only get that when you bring diversity into the room. I'm talking education, background, ethnicity, religious views, the full spectrum of diversity. The more diverse you can have your team, or the more diverse are the people that are advising you, that you're listening to, that you're staying curious with. The better your decisions will be and the better you will serve your communities. And by serving your communities, your customers, your guests, your patients, whatever you want to call them, the more that you'll stand out in the crowd, the more that you will create for your business breakthrough success. So trend number nine is all about finding ways to embrace diversity and inclusion and ensuring that if you don't have the opportunity to hire in more diverse People, people from more diverse backgrounds, that you open yourself up perhaps to a mentor from a different background to yours, or that you participate in forums that give you access and exposure, importantly to different ways of thinking. Now the one thing that I will say about diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging is, at least from my point of view, it's not about having a quota. You must have 20% of people that look like this, 20% of people that think like this, 20, 20% of people that are doing this. It's not about having a quota. It's about ensuring that the that you're casting aside any unconscious bias you have during your recruitment process, during your decision making process so that you genuinely consider diverse views before you move forward with a decision. So diverse. Diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging to it's going to be with us for a long time. Those businesses that have embraced this trend are already seeing breakthrough success. It's absolutely worth your consideration and I would encourage you to be curious about how you can constantly expose yourself to diverse ideas. Doesn't mean you have to agree with them, but that exposure alone will help inform you in making better decisions and delivering breakthrough success in your business. That's diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. And that's in the 2024 Trends for Breakthrough success. You can get the report at that link on your screen now.
