Good afternoon, JSP Distributing.
Jason Bradshaw is the owner and founder of one of the fastest growing telecommunication companies in Australia. He's also just 14 years old. What's the turnover of the company at the moment?
Approximately $8,000 a month. However, next month's July, which is actually this month now. Projected sales 17, 18,000.
And how big do you see the company being in the future?
I'd like to get it to the stage where it's turning over an average of 60 or 70,000amonth. 60, 70,000 would be good. I can see that doing it by my 17th.
When young Jason wanted to earn extra pocket money, he didn't do a paper run, he started his own company.
He came to us with a very good business proposal and business plan, something that had been well thought out. We've given him a chance and he's brought in the results. So from our point of view we're very happy.
What sort of businessman is he?
He's a very clever businessman is what he is. Okay, what have you got there for me, john? The sharp tqc 50k.
What sort of reaction do you get from clients when they realise you're full 14 years old?
Well, most of them don't realise that I'm 14 but some of them that do ask how old you are. I say 14 and they say, huh, you're so tall, you're running your own business, blah blah blah. And I say, well somebody's got to do something and they say oh ok. And they buy more off me usually.
No, Jason Bradshaw is not your typical 14 year old.
I suppose I'm not the typical stereotype where I wear stussy gear or mambo and make out that I'm a big surfer and I'm not. I was in a ten pin bowling league. I was actually the secretary but I just said no, I've got money to make.
Has Jason always been like this? I think so. He's been interested in money and businesses. At school he, you know, kids used to come up and say Jason, do you, can you lend me a dollar? And Jason would say yes, but there's interest on that and they always paid him back. With Nicky is Jason's proud, if bewildered mum. I guess one day you'll be employing mum and dad then?
Yeah, hopefully if they have a chain of stores they might have to be appointed managers of one of them. Very low wage though, couldn't give them any bonuses. Yes, the mobile 3888. Yes, that's a wonderful phone.
But being a 14 year old entrepreneur has its drawbacks.
My wheels aren't the best. No. I'll be there in about two hours.
So you'll be looking at something like this when you're old enough to drive.
Oh, definitely. It's a lovely car. It's great contours. It's quite. It looks quite comfortable.
Very classy.
Very classy, definitely.
And what do you think when the time comes, you might trade it in.
On Rolls Royce, perhaps.
And you'll be driving that around Toowoomba?
Oh, definitely not. My own island with a few penthouses on each coast. Thank you. Bye. Bye. 535. Thanks. If you want to go anywhere in life, you've got to know exactly what you're going to do, how you're going to do it and why you're going to do it.
And the secret of Jason's success. Hard work, customer service, zero credit. And never, but never let an opportunity slip by.
Well, if you'd like any telecommunication equipment or computer hardware and software, ring myself on 076-3506 667 anytime during the day.
Anytime, anytime, any day.
Any day. I don't care if you're in me at 2 o' clock in the morning. I might be a bit sleepy, but you'll still be served reasonably well.
